TalkSport pundit Adrian Durham criticised Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri after the Blues suffered a 3-1 defeat at Wolves.

The popular journalist claimed the West London side will struggle to reach the top 4 this year:

“I would love to hear from Chelsea fans because I’m pretty certain that they would agree with most of the points I’m about to make,” Durham started.

“There’s no pace up front for Chelsea: Callum Hudson-Odoi has to be given a chance in the first team at some point. How he hasn’t had one I do not know.

“I’ve heard stories about a loan spell, just get him in the team! There’s no pace, no zip, it’s not full of energy, it’s not bright. Get him in there and see what he can do.

Durham suggested even more changes:

Ethan Ampadu in for David Luiz, it’s a no brainer. Luiz cannot defend, Ampadu can and Ampadu can do all the things Luiz can. If they want him to balloon a 30-yard free-kick into orbit like Luiz does then he can do that too!

Olivier Giroud over Alvaro Morata… always, always, always has to happen! How Morata started last night I do not know.

“Put Kante where he belongs. Even with Jorginho out of the team against Wolves Kante wasn’t where he belongs because Fabregas was there. Ridiculous!

Ruben Loftus-Cheek always has to start.

“Full-backs need a kick up the backside, Sarri needs to stop smoking because that’s a level of unprofessionalism that he’s bringing into Chelsea Football Club.

“Right now, what Chelsea are on course for is a place out of the top four and Eden Hazard wanting to leave.

“He [Sarri] is steering them, he’s hurtling them towards a place where Chelsea do not want to be and it’s not good management.”

Chelsea ace Eden Hazard has been ruled out of Blues Europa League clash against PAOK because of an ankle injury he picked up against Spurs in last saturday defeat.

The Belgian player, anyway, is expected to play against Fulham next Sunday.

Victor Moses is also out for a back issue, with manager Maurizio Sarri likely to make changes ahead of 10 matches in the month of December.

Sarri’s men need to avoid defeat at Stamford Bridge to guarantee top spot in a game they’re expected to win comfortably.

Even a defeat may still be enough as Chelsea are six points ahead of second-placed MOL Vidi so the Hungarian side would need a win to stand any chance of overtaking the Premier League side.

According to OK Diario Eden Hazard will move to Real Madrid next January: the Spanish outlet reports that Chelsea have accepted that they are likely to lose the Belgian star, even in the start of 2019.

Los Blancos failed to replace Cristiano Ronaldo during the summer transfer window after the Portuguese star moved to Juventus in July, and their shaky start to the season continued with a 3-0 defeat at Eibar on Saturday afternoon.

Hazard has been in fine form for Chelsea this term, managing eight goals and four assists in 15 appearances in all competitions, with seven of those strikes coming in the Premier League.

The Belgium international has admitted he’s got a lot of esteem of new Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri but he will see his Blues contract expire at the end of next season and revealed during the summer that he dreams to move to Santiago Bernabéu.

Despite Tottenham’s domination in yesterday’s derby at Wembley, Chelsea felt they could have had two penalties in the first half, with Hazard on the end of some risky challenges.

Blues star Eden Hazard believes the first incident, where he went to ground after a challenge from Juan Foyth, was a definitely penalty, but says his side can have no excuses after “a bad game”.

“I think the first one is a penalty,” Hazard told Chelsea‘s official website.

“It is the decision of the referee – sometimes right, sometimes not – but I can’t blame him, it is part of the game and I don’t want to find an excuse, I think we played a bad game.

“It was not just about the penalty, I think the whole team did badly. They have top players and are a good team, which we saw last year at Stamford Bridge. We were a bit down, but we need to get back on the pitch, train hard and win games again.”

The Belgian believes the Blues paid the price for a slow start against Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

It’s a result that has seen Spurs leapfrog Chelsea into third place in the Premier League table, making this their best start to a Premier League season since 2011-12.

“We didn’t play a good game and everybody could see that,” Hazard added.

“We started the game very badly and conceded two goals early.

“Against this kind of team, when you are 2-0 down, it is hard to come back. We tried but it was not enough.

“It is hard to start a game after 15 minutes when we have conceded two goals.

“We tried, but then we pushed and conceded another one at the start of the second half.

“We had a bad game and we just need to forget about this and move forward.

“We need to analyse everything and then maybe talk together, and try to win again.”

During his pre-match press conference, Chelsea’s manager Maurizio Sarri reacted to N’Golo Kante contract extension with the London club.

N’Golo for us is not an important player, he is a determined player and I am very happy for him. It is very good news for us. I know that David said something about him, that he doesn’t want to pay the bill in the restaurant, but he is a very professional player on the pitch and off it”. Sarri explained. “He is very important defensively, but he can score more and he can improve in the final 25 metres of the pitch”.

Now, the Italian manager hopes also another Chelsea star, Eden Hazard, could sign a new contract with the Blues: “I don’t know the movement of the contract”. Sarri admitted. “He is doing very well, he played on Sunday so was with us on Tuesday. But I hope we can do [a new contract], I hope so”.

Eden Hazard is one of the main protagonists of Chelsea as new manager Maurizio Sarri showed he has confidence towards the Belgian international. The 27-year-old has a lot of reasons to be proud of this start season.

Blues’ supporters are constantly worried as Hazard is kicked by opponents on a regular basis. Following the goalless draw between Chelsea and Everton at Stamford Bridge last time out, Hazard was stopped and interviewed:

“I am feeling the wear and tear” he said.

“I have been playing football as a professional for more than ten years now. I am not happy about it (being a target), but it’s part of football”.

Chelsea and Maurizio Sarri have a chance to go level on points with Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp’s men were held to a 1-1 draw in their Premier League fixture against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.

The Italian manager gave an important injury update also on Blues’ star Eden Hazard ahead of the upcoming clash between Chelsea and Crystal Palace (kick-off time 4PM GMT) at Stamford Bridge.

Sarri told journalists: “Yesterday Eden had a large part of the training with the team.

Maybe he will not be ready to play for 90 minutes at the moment, because it was the first training in the last two weeks, but probably he will be able to play for 40, 45 minutes”.

He added: “I will speak to him before deciding whether he starts. For us it’s important.”

Chelsea assistant coach Gianfranco Zola has praised the improvements in Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who are “following Maurizio Sarri’s instructions very well” so far.

The Chelsea legend, who spoke at a press conference ahead of Carabao Cup clash against Derby County, told journalists Eden Hazard is unlikely to be involved tonight. Chelsea trio Pedro, Olivier Giroud and Ethan Ampadu remain a doubt ahead of the game: “their conditions will be assessed tomorrow” said Zola.

Chelsea will face also club loanees Fikayo Tomori and Mason Mount, who are eligible to feature against the Blues. The Italian explained also reasons behind Chelsea’s decision to give Derby County permission for the two youngsters to be involved: “What’s important for us is that Mason and Tomori grow up as players, and we believe playing against us is an opportunity for them to grow up quicker”.

“The more they play against Premier League teams the more experience they can get, and the better the evaluation we can make on them. It was a great opportunity to see them play in front of us and we took it”.

“There will be a lot at stake. It will be a game where the technical, tactical and physical side is on a higher level than the ones they play in their own league”.

“As well as that there will be a psychological component because they will have to play in front of a big crowd, and they know it’s the crowd of the team they belong to, so it will give them a good test”.

Despite a clear-cut win at Turf Moor Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri claims he still misses Eden Hazard, that today couldn’t play because of a fitness issue:

“I want Hazard in every match if it’s possible because we have a lot of very good players but Hazard I think is something different,” the Italian coach said.

“I am very happy because the team was able to score seven goals in two matches without Hazard. It’s a very good sign. I want Eden as soon as possible. I don’t know for Wednesday but I hope for Sunday.”

Ross Barkley in particular has stood out in recent games and, after earning a point against Manchester United last weekend, the England midfielder played a superb pass for Alvaro Morata’s goal before sending a 25-yard effort fizzing into the bottom corner.

“Barkley is doing very well in this period. He improved in the defensive phase, improved very much,” Sarri said.

“He improved his physical condition because the last season for him was really very difficult. He’s a very good player from the technical point of view. Now I think Ross is complete.”

– Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri will  face a decision over whether or not he starts Eden Hazard at Turf Moor today.

The Belgian international didn’t train with his teammates at Cobham on Friday after picking up a back injury in the draw against Manchester United last weekend.  Stating he was unsure if he would be fit for the trip at Burnely, Sarri may elect to not risk the 27-year-old with Pedro now back to full fitness.

However, he can bring Hazard on the bench so he can bring him on if the Blues need a goal providing he is fit.

Willian will start his ninth match on the trot for the Blues after impressing in midweek, with Alvaro Morata replacing Olivier Giroud upfront after another frustrating 90 minutes for the Frenchman.

–  Ruben Loftus-Cheek bagged a hat-trick on Thursday night but is not expected to start for the Blues.

– Despite impressing in the comfortable win over BATE, Cahill, Christensen, Davide Zappacosta and Emerson Palmieri will all drop out.

Jorginho rested in Europa League and he is expected to start today
