Eden Hazard is in London where he’s set to have surgery on his fractured ankle on Monday, according to reports.

The Belgian star suffered the injury in training on Sunday while he was preparing the National Team duty against the Czech Republic and the World Cup Qualifier in Estonia.

Hazard had recently claimed he would consider an offer from Real Madrid, but the Spanish giants have reportedly turned their attention to Monaco star Kylian Mbappe.

The Blues player is set to be out for the next 2/3 months, this means he will miss all the pre-season and, probably, the first month of the next season, with the Community Shield against Arsenal scheduled in the beginning of August.

Hazard was training with Belgium to prepare the forthcoming games against Czech Republic and Estonia.

Behind Eden Hazard’s very good season with Chelsea there are not only his technical and physical skills, but also Antonio Conte‘s tactical advice.

“I started to play a bit more centrally, like a Number 10. The manager said to me I have to try to find Diego Costa”. – the Belgian striker told Chelsea official website – “When I play I always try to pass to him, or look for him to make a run which opens up the space for me to come inside. I always try to be close to him because I know it makes it difficult for defenders when there is two of you, or even three when Pedro or Willian are there as well. When we remain static it makes it easier for them to mark us, so I tried to stay close to him and play one-touch football, which worked well”.

With his five years at Stamford Bridge Eden Hazard is one of Chelsea longest-serving players.

The Belgian striker, however, doesn’t want to go away and sign for another team, but he wants to stay with the Blues.

“I’ve spent five years here, I know everything about the club,” – Hazard told Chelsea official website. “Even if I’m still only 26 I have a lot of experience now. I started playing at 16 in France so I’ve been professional for 10 years. I like it here because it’s a family club. I have a lot of friends and we all talk to each other. In terms of games and experience I’m one of the oldest players and that’s good. This is my second home and I’m happy at Chelsea. I just want to keep going, maintain this intensity and continue to win trophies”.

Eden Hazard was one of Chelsea‘s best players in the 2016-2017 Premier League campaign and he now rates his performances throughout the season.

“Very good,” – Hazard told Chelsea official website – “It was obviously very important for us to bounce back and become champions again after the disappointment of the previous year. I finished the previous season strongly and then had a good European Championships with Belgium, which meant I was able to start well. I stayed at the top level this season in almost every game so I’m happy with my own form, but our success was down to all of the players. Everybody has been fantastic. We’ve all been consistent and that’s the reason we’ve done so well”.

Eden Hazard and Chelsea have a common target for next season: winning the Champions League.

The Belgian star seems really eager to add this trophy to his cabinet:

“The Champions League is a very difficult competition with many good teams who are capable of reaching the semi-finals and the final,” he told Chelsea’s official website.

“You never know, but if we continue with the way we’ve been playing this season we can go far.

“Maybe with a couple of new players to take the level even higher we can do well, but it’s not just about quality, you also need a bit of luck.”

Speaking to Strait Times he also added:

“Next season, we will have the Champions League to play but we want to keep the Premier League trophy in Chelsea”.

Eden Hazard confirmed that Chelsea really worked hard under Antonio Conte to reach the extraordinary results of the past season.

He’s a great manager. When we came back in the pre-season, it was intense, and if we won this season, it’s because of that,” Hazard told The Strait Times.

The Belgian star also revealed that the team worked a lot in the gym, a thing that is not very common in England:

“We practised a lot of tactics, also (worked on) fitness and running. For me, it was the first time in England where we worked a lot in the gym. And yeah, we want to look forward (to next season) with him.”

Speculations were linking Eden Hazard to Real Madrid in the past days, with the Blancos allegedly ready to splash £ 100m to sign the Belgian star.

But Hazard himself dismissed the rumours claiming he wants to stay at Chelsea at least another couple of years:

“I’m good here. I’m at one of the best clubs in the world and I think I’m going to stay for a couple of years. I’m very happy,” the 26-year-old told The Straits Times.

“It’s going to be hard but we know [people] expect a lot from Chelsea now.

“But now is the time to think about holidays”.

Real Madrid are ready to splash £ 100m ( € 115m) on Chelsea star Eden Hazard.

According to speculations coming from Spain the Blancos have been in contact with the Belgian player for months, and – as also ChelseaNews24 reported a couple of months ago-  Hazard already visited the Champions of Europe training ground in Valdebebas, where he also met the chairman Florentino Perez.

Actually, this was something not legal from both parts, as FIFA regulations clearly express that a player cannot negotiate with another team without the express authorization of his original club, but it’s not so uncommon in modern football.

Furthermore, it seems that Real Madrid have met with Hazard’s entourage on three separate occasions in 2017 and that is the first target of the Spanish giants to revamp their squad next summer, with their manager Zinedine Zidane – that is Eden’s childhood hero- who never hid his huge admiration for Hazard, one of his favourite players:

“After Messi and Ronaldo, Hazard is my favourite player. It is spectacular to see him play. Do I see him going to Real Madrid? I love the player, that’s all I will say,” the Frenchman said in 2015.

Recent reports have claimed Chelsea have been in talks with Hazard over a new contract, but the club may have cause for concern over his future now, as Real Madrid are ready to tempt both the player and the club with a monster offer ( £100m, at least £10m for Eden) that would become the all-time-record transfer fee.

Eden Hazard was voted as Chelsea player of the year after scoring 16 goals in an outstanding season at Stamford Bridge.

The Belgian star collects the award for a third time since he joined the Blues in 2012.

N’Golo Kante, who was the choice of his team-mates for 2016/17, told Chelsea’s official website: “Because we spend so long together, and we win together and we lose together, to be named by the other players is something special, I spent a very good season here”.

“We were unlucky we did not win yesterday but it was a good season and hopefully next season we are going to be stronger”.

Karen Carney won Chelsea Ladies Player of the Year award, while Under-18s side captain Mason Mount, who led the team to their fourth FA Youth Cup in a row this season, lifted the trophy last night.
