Eden Hazard will meet former Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah tomorrow as the Blues face Liverpool at Anfield, and the Belgian star has revealed he’s in touch with the Egyptian.

“It’s always good to play against a friend. – he told Chelsea’s official website this morning – It is good to have friends in this world, because in football you can’t have a lot of friends”.

“When you are not playing in one club you need to go. All the players want to play. In this period, we had me, Willian, Oscar, Juan Mata also, so for him it was not easy, but he is a top player. We know the quality he has”.

Salah was sold to Serie A side Fiorentina as a part of the deal which led Juan Cuadrado to Stamford Bridge in February 2015: “You need a chance, I remember he took his chance at Fiorentina, – Hazard noted – And I am just happy for him”.

Chelsea signed Salah on a £12m move from Basel in January 2014, under the management of Jose Mourinho.

Eden Hazard was crucial for Chelsea as the Belgian star scored three goals in the last two games (0-4 against West Bromwich Albion and Qarabag) away from home.

Chelsea will face Liverpool tomorrow at Anfield in a game which could represent a turning point for the Premier League champions following their slow start to the season, combined with Manchester City’s outstanding positive trend.

About the Blues’ trip to Baku, Hazard said: “It was a long trip, we were back in London at 3 or 4 in the morning, and we are playing on Saturday so the time between the two games is very short, but we need to adapt. We didn’t adapt well against Man City so we need to do better tomorrow for sure”.

“A couple of players didn’t play on Wednesday. I played only 60 minutes, N’Golo also came off. We can be fresh tomorrow even if the game is close. We are professionals and we can deal with this. We will do everything to recover”.

Anyway, the Belgian star admitted he’s ‘feeling good’ ahead of next clash against Liverpool: “I am 100 per cent. After injury sometimes you are not feeling 100 per cent, but I am ready to play every game. Of course when you are winning games it does help. Confidence is high. We are playing well at the moment, we want to keep playing like this and keep winning games”.

Eden Hazard shared his satisfaction for the Champions League last 16 qualification and his great performance after the 4-0 against Qarabag in Azerbaijan:

“We did everything well, apart from conceding the first chance when they hit the post. Maybe that would be different if that went in. We should have scored more,” Hazard told BT Sport.

“It is easy to play with these good players. We have a big game at Liverpool on Saturday so it was good to have a small rest. We are ready for Saturday.”

In the Chelsea team who defeated Qarabag today two players stood among the others, according to former Manchester United’s defender Rio Ferdinand: Eden Hazard and Willian.

The man we spoke about, Eden Hazard, this ball here. Not many players on this planet see, let alone play that ball“. – Rio Ferdinand said about the pass which led to the first penalty – “I think it’s a pen, I think it’s definitely a pen. I think he’s tried to grab him, he’s got hold of him at some point. He’s gone down easy, yes Willian, but his intentions there were to drag him and slow him down and stop him from getting a shot off.”

Then Rio Ferdinand praises the Chelsea duo also about the second goal of the night: “This is beautiful football, this is hard to defend,” Ferdinand said on the goal. You can’t pick this apart in terms of saying they could have defended better. It’s quick, dynamic football, quick feet from Willian and the awareness from Hazard to pick out his partnering crime Willian.”

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard praises Blues star Eden Hazard, who was one of the protagonists in tonight 4-0 win against Qarabag with one goal, on penalty, and one assist but it was his performance, as a real top player and team leader, that impressed Lampard:

“When Chelsea play well Eden Hazard plays well, it’s been a constant over the last few years and he creates so much,” the former midfielder told BT Sport.

“Goals is the one question mark really, we speak about him regularly and the number of goals he gets.

“I do like seeing him in this central role though. When he does get in these central positions he can finish.”

Antonio Conte feels a win against Qarabag could be really important for Chelsea, as the Blues will have a busy schedule from now until February, when the Champions League last 16 will take place.

Should the West London side win against the Azerbaijan team they will qualify for Champions League next stage without waiting for Atletico Madrid’s clash in the beginning of December:

“We have to play the most important game of the season from the start until now,” Conte said.

“If we are able to win against Qarabag, we can go through to the next round of the Champions League and this is very important because this period from now until January is very busy, so it is very important to win the game.

“For sure it won’t be easy because in the last two games they drew twice against Atletico Madrid, and before that they lost the game but Roma were struggling a lot to win against them so it is very important to be focused, to work and to try to win the game.”
Conte continued:
“I must be honest, these players always show great desire and will to fight in every game.
“Against Roma, together we didn’t show this , me first. I always put myself before the players and I always take the responsibility.

“In Rome we didn’t deserve to finish the first half 2-0 down, but the second half was negative because we didn’t show the desire to come back to try to draw it or win.

“But I think this season, we faced a lot of problems from the start and now we are trying to solve these problems, to recall players, to find the right form for players like, for example, Eden Hazard and it is the same for [Alvaro] Morata who is playing his first season in England.

“Then [N’Golo] Kante is recovering good form and we know very well the importance of these players for us. We had a lot of problems and also we are trying to change something in the tactical aspect and to find different solutions, because when you are conceding many goals, it means you have to find a new balance.”

Eden Hazard was stunning in Chelsea‘s away victory over West Bromwich Albion last time out. The Belgian star scored a brace, with also Alvaro Morata and Marcos Alonso among the scorers.

Speaking after the game, Hazard gave his thoughts on the game: “Top, top, from the first minute until the end. We showed great character, we scored four and we didn’t concede. We want this type of game every week”.

‘We had the right mentality. When you come here you know the game will not be easy because they’re physical. But if you keep the ball on the floor like we did then you have the chance to win the game, we did well”.

About his performance: “It’s always good to score. For me it’s not the most important thing but it’s good for the confidence. I scored two goals but the most important thing was to win the game and play well, that’s it”.

Tottenham’s defeat to Arsenal means that Chelsea are currently 3rd on the Premier League table with 25 points, just one behind Manchester United with Manchester City leading thanks to an eight-point gap on the Red Devils.

‘We have to do the same every week, – Hazard reckons – Now we have a tough week because we play Qarabag away and then we go to Anfield. We want to stay near the top”.

‘We know Man City are winning a lot of games but we need to try and close the gap and then we will see at the end of the season. The run last season was unbelievable, it’s not every year you can do that, but why not? We have almost the same players and we have to be ready if we want to stay near the top”.

He ended: “It’s not just him and me, it’s the whole team: when you play with Fabregas, Alonso on the left and Zappacosta on the right you can feel the confidence. Everyone played with the ball and made great movement”.

Chelsea moved up the table following today’s 0-4 win over West Bromwich Albion, with the biggest margin of victory for the Blues at the Hawthorns. When asked if Eden Hazard, who scored twice, needs more protection from referees, manager Antonio Conte said: “Today Eden played very well and I think he showed great patience despite some situations which were very strong”.

“I was a player and I understand when you play against these type of players it’s very difficult to stop them and sometimes you try to find a different way”.

“Now he has to continue in this way, he’s 100 per cent fit and he’s enjoying his football with us which is important. This season we started with a lot of problems, Hazard was one of them because he didn’t work during pre-season after surgery. Then he started to play with us after a few games”.

Chelsea earned their 4th win in a row after beating Watford, Everton, Bournemouth and the Baggies.

And Conte admitted: “Today the starting 11 was the same as against United. We played well in that game and we did again today but don’t forget we have to play a lot of games in a few days, so I need all of my players”.

Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa spoke about the end of his professional relationship with Chelsea: "It is very clear that it was not my fault...
