Chelsea striker Diego Costa was very close to joining Turkish side Fenerbahce on a three-month long loan, but the move was called off.

The Turkish giants are now set to sign Tottenham Hotspur forward Vincent Janssen, who failed to make an impact in Premier League after joining Spurs from AZ Alkmaar last summer.

The Dutchman will land in Istanbul today to discuss and set personal terms with Fenerbahce, while Diego Costa’s situation is now more complicated than ever before.

Diego Costa’s move to Fenerbahce was definetly called off this morning, ChelseaNews24 exclusive sources revealed us.

The Spanish striker was really close to move to the Turkish side on loan for the next four months, but his demands on the wages were considered too high after an agreement for £ 4m + 2m on add ons was found yesterday.

Chelsea gave him the green light after accepting a free loan until December 2017, with an option for a permanent moved fixed at £ 45m.

But the Brazilian-born striker changed his mind, since he already promised himself to Atletico Madrid from January 2018: Fenerbahce agreed to include a clause in the deal to set him free for his return to the Colchoneros, but then Costa increased his wages request to Fenerbahce with a shocking £ 7m deal for just four months.

Now the Turkish Super League side has just a little more than 24 hours to find another top striker on the market, with ex Blues Samuel Eto’o among the favourites to sign for them, and Chelsea will have to deal with an AWOL player for other four months, until the Atletico Madrid transfer ban will end and he will be free to move to Atletico.

Diego Costa was left out of squad by Antonio Conte after the pair fell out in the end of the past season: the Brazilian-born striker is AWOL despite being included in the Blues Premier League squad, and always claimed his only wish is to return to Atletico Madrid.

But the Spanish side have to respect FIFA transfer market ban until the end of 2017 and Diego can join them back only in January 2018.

Next year all major national teams will have to challenge in Russia 2018 World Cup and the Spanish forward needs to play during the season to be selected in the Spain squad.

This is the reason why Fenerbahce presented an offer to Diego last Monday: ChelseaNews24 exclusive sources in Costa’s entourage revealed the Turkish side proposed a £ 7m deal to the player that accepted the offer and free loan to Chelsea, who wanted a fee.

The two clubs agreed a £ 5m fee for a season-long loan, but then the Spanish forward changed his mind, claiming he just wanted to be loaned to the Turkish only for the next three months, asking a £ 4+2m add ons in wages for until the end of 2017, so to join Atletico in January 2018: in this case the loan would be free of charge.

Always according to our exclusive sources Costa rejected a £ 24m per year contract Tianjin Quanjin last January, when the winter transfer window was opened and Chelsea could still replaced him, and then accepted a £ 26m on February from the same side, but the Blues had no chance to substitute him anymore so they didn’t let him go: it was in this period that his relationship with Conte started to fall out.

The deal can be closed today or tomorrow, as the transfer market window in Turkey is still open until tomorrow night.

According to reports in England Chelsea have started to clear out Diego Costa’s locker after he refused to return to west London, being AWOL at the moment.

They add that the Blues have also moved Costa’s car from the first-team car park and dumped it in one of the youth team bays.

This is another sign the club and the striker are every hour further, as exclusive sources told ChelseaNews24 that Costa is negotiating a loan move to Fenerbahce until January 2018, when he will be able to return to Atletico Madrid when their transfer ban will end in the December.

Fenerbahce are leading the race to sign Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel, who is currently enjoying a second loan spell at PSV after joining also A.C. Milan and Stoke City in 2014 and 2015.

The Holland international impressed manager Phillip Cocu as he scored 7 goals in 11 appearances in the Eredivisie, but also Fenerbahce boss Dick Advocaat has admitted interest in the 24-year-old: “He’s a good player. – he said – He can be the one who will move the ball from the midfield area to the last third.

“He’s a good passer and also a great competitor. He has a good mindset. If the terms are acceptable, signing him would be a no-brainer.”

Fenerbahce defender Simon Kjaer, who had been previously linked with a move to Chelsea, has turned down rumors of a possible departure from Turkish Super League next summer.

“I have no intention of leaving Turkey, Turkish football has taught me a lot, – the former Roma centre-back told Turkish outlet Fotospor – I have improved to have more responsibility, some of the matches I have played are like something I haven’t experienced anywhere in the world.”

The Denmark international spoke out on transfer interest reportedly shown by Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester United, as both Antonio Conte and José Mourinho are in search of a man to strengthen their defense.

Some transfer market rumours were linking Fenerbahce defender Simon Kjaer to Chelsea, but the Turkish club dismissed all the speculations with an official statement on their website.

The statement read:

“A number of recent reports have falsely claimed that Chelsea have made an offer for our Danish player Simon Kjaer.

Fenerbahce have not received any offers whatsoever for Kjaer and any claims suggesting a transfer could take place are wrong.  Kjaer is a happy and successful member of our team.

We would like to ask our fans to disregard such lies and manipulative reports that aim to disrupt our team.”

Bad news for Chelsea: Paul Pogba is back. The Manchester United star failed to impress after his return at Old Trafford, but last night he was just superb in 4-1 against Fenerbahce: he was the Man of the Match and scored a brace, the first goal on penalty, the second one with a fantastic shot from the distance.

Maybe the worst moment for the Blues to face, since on Sunday he will come to Stamford Bridge full of confidence:

“It was a wonderful night, the team made a super performance,” Pogba commented after the game.”

Speaking about next clash against Chelsea he said:

“Now we have to be ready for the clash against Chelsea: they got many experienced and quality players”
