Former England boss Glen Hoddle was particularly impressed with Cesc Fabregas‘ performance at Wolves today.

The Spaniard’s brilliant lofted pass was a key part in the build-up to Chelsea’s first goal, that was scored by Pedro:

Speaking to BT Sport after the game, Hoddle claimed:

“What a ball from Fabregas [for Pedro’s goal].

“You’ve got to say he was marvellous today with some of his passing.”

Swansea boss Paul Clement hopes to keep his star, Fernando Llorente, despite Chelsea interest in this January transfer window:

“He played very well today,” the ex Chelsea and Ancelotti assistant  said of the striker, whose brace at Anfield took his tally to seven in the last ten league games.

“Am I afraid to lose him? I want to keep him here and the reason I want to keep him here is what he showed today.

“I think his performance was very good. The first time I was involved in this team was Crystal Palace and he showed all the qualities he had in that game.

“If you get the right kind of service into him he is a goalscorer but you have to give him service.”

Former Liverpool and Manchester United star Michael Owen gave his prediction on Chelsea clash at Sunderland, claiming the Blues could beat the Black Cats without conceding any goal:

“A fixture that has seen an average of 3.7 goals per game in the history of the PL -30 games,” the former striker said to BetVictor.

“It is possible that one might be enough for this burgeoning and confident Chelsea side.”

Napoli are considering to sign Montreal Impact striker Didier Drogba when the transfer market window reopens in January, according to reports in Italy.

It is understood owner Aurelio De Laurentiis also considered to offer free-agent Miroslav Klose a contract following the injury suffered by Arkadiusz Milik, but the Serie A side will reportedly give confidence to the 24-year-old, who scored 14 times in 49 appearances at San Paolo so far.

Anyway, former Chelsea star Drogba could join the Azzurri since his contract is due to expire in December 2016.

After being close to a Chelsea return last summer Romelu Lukaku has been targeted by Manchester United, according to British newspaper Star on Sunday.
The Belgian striker was reportedly scouted by Red Devils observers in the recent game against Crystal Palace.

It is understood Everton remain keen to offer a new contrat to their star: British press reported recently that the Toffees are starting talks with their forward and his agent, Mino Raiola.

Former Chelsea winger Pat Nevin had his say about Antonio Conte‘s main problem at Stamford Bridge. He claimed that the Blues’ defence has to improve in view of the next Premier League games.

“There is no hiding from the fact that losing 3-0 to Arsenal is a hard one to take for the manager, the players and of course the fans as well, – Nevin told Chelsea’s official website – It is particularly painful as Chelsea have had Arsenal under their spell for such a long time.”

“The magic wasn’t there at the Emirates and there is no option but to get back on the training ground and work out where the problems are stemming from.”

“It will not be an easy task for Antonio Conte, even if most people immediately look at the defence. When you have got into the habit of shipping goals when you didn’t used to (that is nine in four games during September) then the eyes are drawn in that direction. It is of course never that simple.”

Nevin added: “Gary Cahill knows who was at fault for the first goal against Arsenal, but what about midfielders shielding those defenders? How about strikers tracking back when a full-back runs off them and what about overall work-rate compared to the opposition? It can be one, all or a combination of the above reasons.”

“Personally, I do not think many players will have arguments about what Antonio Conte has to say this week. There have been problems, the players know this and it is his job to sort them out.”

“This could be the most difficult season for a while to gain a top-four finish in the Premier League – the Scottish ended – Even Manchester’s red team have embraced the fact you can’t have a Ferrari team without them having top-quality engines in this particular race.”

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer after failing to reach the European competitions with the Toffees, anyway the Belgium international has dismissed all the rumors by revealing he is happy at Goodison Park.

The former Chelsea striker told SkySports: “I left it all to my agent, he dealt with it”.

“I just went on holiday and when I came back the last game before the season started I had an injury. It kept me out for a long time. I couldn’t do anything with it,”

“So now for me it’s just my pre-season phase so I’m working really hard to be 100 per cent fit. As soon as I’m fit the goals will come for sure.”

It is understood Chelsea had a £60m bid plus Loic Remy – who joined Crystal Palace on a season-long loan – rejected by Everton earlier this summer.

Ex Chelsea manager Andre Villas Boas has been targeted by AC Milan to replace first team coach Christian Brocchi, who asked to leave his job yesterday to be able to join Brescia, in the Italian Serie B, and that started to work at the club only in January, when former coach Sinisa Mihajlovic was sacked.

Milan are in a very delicate moment of their history: the financial situation is not good and the long time chairman, Silvio Berlusconi, has been looking for a group of new investors outside of Italy, especially in China, to sell the club but had no luck until now.

The Italian side, that won seven Champions League, also failed to qualify for any European competition in the last three years and the situation is very unstable.

Signing a young and valid manager like Villas Boas they would try to improve this delicate situation and it should a good chance for the Portuguese coach as well, after failing his first experience in a big international club like Chelsea and three years in the Russian championship with Zenit St Petersburg.

eva carneiro

Ex Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro released a statement after she found an agreement with the club and ex manager José Mourinho over the constructive dismissal and sexism case today:

I am relieved that today we have been able to conclude this tribunal case. It has been an extremely difficult and distressing time for me and my family and I now look forward to moving forward with my life.

My priority has always been the health and safety of the players and fulfilling my duty of care as a doctor. In running onto the pitch to treat a player, who requested medical attention, I was following the rules of the game and fulfilling my medical responsibilities.

I would like to thank everyone who has supported me including my husband, family and friends and members of the football community.

Sky Sports reports that Louis van Gaal has left Manchester United‘s team hotel and appeared in good spirits in taking time to pose for photos with fans.

Sky reporter James Cooper spoke to the Dutchman as he left the team hotel, wishing him “good luck” to which van Gaal replied “it’s over“.

Exactly what this means is unclear. Manchester United refused to comment but the formal agreement with ex Chelsea manager José Mourinho is really close, as his agent Jorge Mendes is expected to land in Manchester in the upcoming days- probably Tuesday- to put pen on paper for the last details of the contract.
