Bertrand Traore was one of the protagonists in last night’s win against AC Milan in a pre-season friendly, scoring the first goal for the Blues, in the first half.

The Burkina Faso international spoke to Chelsea official website after the game, claiming he’s very satisfied of the work done so far:

“I always have my eyes for the goal so when I saw Victor aim to shoot, I anticipated the situation,” he claimed speaking about his goal last night.

Then the goalkeeper touched it and I was in the right place at the right moment. It is important when you play as a striker to look for the goal. These are the most easy goals you can score as a striker – keep on running, go for the second balls – so I was happy to score the goal.

“The pre-season has been good so far. I have been playing almost every game and that is important for me to prepare well and get my fitness level high. I work hard in training to get some minutes during the games and I have got these minutes, so I am happy with this situation.”

Traore also spoke about his new role in the attack with the new manager Antonio Conte:

“This is a little bit different,’ he agrees. ‘In the past with a partner I have been playing like a no.10, just behind the striker. Now we play in the same line so it is a little different but I am enjoying it.

“I have started two games with Diego and two games with Ruben and both partnerships were good. I think we played well together.

“As young players it is important to play in different positions and I think Ruben is enjoying it as much as I am.”

Chelsea captain John Terry revealed to have been impressed with the Blues‘ most important signing of this summer: N’Golo Kante.

The French midfielder joined his new team-mates only one week ago in Los Angeles but he already made an impact in the squad and last night made his Chelsea debut playing almost forty minutes in the 3-1 win against Milan, showing his usual stamina.

It is a great signing for us and he was incredible last year,”  Terry told Goal.com right after the final whistle.

“It is great to have him part of our squad and all the new boys we have got are looking good so I am delighted.

“Kante was very good tonight, he has looked very good in training but he has not been back too long.”

Antonio Conte admitted he had a positive feedback from the friendly won 3-1 against AC Milan, and was clearly satisfy before going back to London to finish the pre-season preparation:

“The atmosphere was fantastic, wonderful. It’s fantastic to play in this atmosphere for me and the players.

“The grass was very good, better than the last game against Real Madrid. I must be honest, against Real Madrid the field wasn’t good. Tonight was beautiful, all beautiful.”

The Italian manager also stressed the fact that now he will have to choose which players to keep in his squad, and who will be put on the market in the next twenty days.

The Chelsea squad is too huge, and some player will have to go to work better:

“I think this match told me a lot – about the players who keep and who can go on loan or we can sell. Today, it was important because I have a more clear idea than before.

“Now we go back to London and it’s important for me, for the club, to talk and take the decision about all the players. In this pre-season we work with 30 players, four goalkeepers and 26 players. A lot of players. Now remains one game against Werder Bremen and then we must take the decision.

“We hope to take the best decision for the club and the players also. The ideas are very clear, but it’s important for me to speak about this topic with the club.”

Antonio Conte was satisfied after the win over AC Milan in the last friendly in the USA.

One of the most important things for Chelsea was to find again a player like Oscar, that failed to impress last year but, actually, his performances were disappointing as much as those of the rest the team.

In the last days rumours coming from Italy claimed that Inter was keen on the Brazilian offensive midfielder, but the Italian manager confirmed the importance of the Chelsea number 8 while speaking after the game:

Oscar is an important player and I think the season when Chelsea won the title, he played a fantastic season.

“Last season was bad for all the players, not only for Oscar or for another player, for all.

“I think Oscar is a good player with a great talent and he can improve a lot. I am seeing in him a good attitude and a good will.

Chelsea obtain a 3-1 against Milan in the last friendly of their USA tour.

The Blues are now on their way back to Europe, where they will face Werder Bremen in Germany in the last game of their pre-season next Sunday.

It was a good match for Chelsea against Montella‘s side: the first half was more balanced, with Conte’s guys taking the lead at minute 28 with Bertrand Traore scoring on the hit-back of a Victor Moses‘ shot.

Milan equalised after ten minutes, with a stunning free-kick of one of their best men, Giacomo Bonaventura.

The second part of the game saw Chelsea’s supremacy over the Rossoneri, Oscar was the protagonist with his brace: first a penalty after an handball in the box by Poli at minute 70, then a nice shot with 3 minutes to go.

Positive vibes for Antonio Conte, that after the Werder Bremen’s friendly will have eight days to prepare the game with West Ham.

“Cuadrado is a Chelsea player,Conte said in a press conference to preview the friendly against AC Milan in the USA.

“He has worked very hard and is training very hard with us. Everyone knows what I think about Juan Cuadrado. Everyone knows that good players have a lot of interest in the transfer window.

“Now he’s a Chelsea player and happy. If you ask me what could happen in the future, I can’t answer Juan Cuadrado and other players.”

Blues boss Antonio Conte tried to hose down these rumours claiming Diego Costa is happy at Chelsea:

“Diego has recovered from his injury and now he is available for tonight’s game against AC Milan,” the Evening Standard quotes the Italian coach as saying.

“I will decide the formation, the starting XI today. But he is available and I am very happy that I can count on him. I repeat that Diego Costa is now Chelsea‘s player and for me this is the most important thing in this moment.

“It is an opportunity to see him play against AC Milan. I repeat, Diego is Chelsea’s player and he is very happy to stay with us.”
