Huddersfield Town have announced today that midfielder Kasey Palmer will leave the club as Chelsea recalled him from season-long loan at the recently-promoted Premier League side.

Palmer, 21-year-old, played his last game for Huddersfield in December after recovering from a hamstring injury. “He’s a great character and we wish him all the best” said Huddersfield manager David Wagner.

Also striker Ike Ugbo has been recalled from his loan to Championship side Barnsley earlier this morning.

Chelsea defender and captain Gary Cahill has praised his teammate Andreas Christensen, who’s currently replacing David Luiz in the centre of defense, alongside the England international and Cesar Azpilicueta.

Cahill told BT Sports“At this football club, you don’t get given gifts, you don’t get given time to play if you’re not good enough. He’s proven that he’s more than capable. He’s growing stronger and stronger every game he plays. It’s natural as well, you get more belief and more confidence from his performances. He’s proven to be a very good footballer”.

“You don’t have to worry every two minutes what he’s doing or what he’s up to or telling him to go here or go there. And that’s a worrying factor. I think it’s one of the positives things you don’t have to do. You feel you can leave him to play his own game. He’s a very good footballer and he can only improve.”

“I think we must be very happy for the performance” said Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, speaking at a press conference following his side’s 1-3 victory over Huddersfield Town tonight.

“We showed a great personality and desire to win the game against a very good team. They beat Manchester United and also Man City struggled to win, this victory improves our confidence after a defeat against West Ham”.

“Chelsea won seven games from the last nine, we drew against Liverpool away and lost at West Ham. I think we are doing a great path but there is a team that is doing a special thing. We have to continue in this way to try to play this football, my players enjoyed to play this type of football. I saw a lot of positive things, but one negative was to concede at the end and we must improve in this because it is important to keep clean sheets, for the goalkeeper and the team”.

The Italian manager added: “This is a big win, on the paper we have played two games at home with Swansea and Newcastle. They have a good coach and organisation, it is not simple to win here. To win against them is not simple”.

Former Chelsea player Joe Cole spoke following tonight’s 1-3 win over Huddersfield Town, a game in which Eden Hazard was not among the goalscorers despite e brilliant performance showed on the pitch.

“He’s one of the those players that when you’ve got a gem like him in your side you’ve got to build around him” Joe Cole said.

“What makes him special is his game intelligence. He always makes the right decisions, and he’s strong as an ox. He plays like he plays in the playground”.

Tiemoue Bakayoko, Willian and Pedro all scored in Chelsea’s away victory over Huddersfield Town tonight. The Premier League champions are now level on points with Manchester United, despite the Red Devils still with one game in hand to be played tomorrow (vs Bournemouth at Old Trafford).

Alvaro Morata scored three times in the last six games for Chelsea, remaining the 3rd best goalscorer in Premier League level on goals with Manchester City stars Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, speaking at a press conference ahead of tonight’s clash against Huddersfield, told reporters:David Luiz is continuing to recover from his knee problem. And Alvaro Morata is out. He is a bit tired and he has a problem in his back”.

The Italian manager confirmed Danny Drinkwater is recovered and available for the game after four days out with a fever: “Drinkwater started to train on Sunday and he’s come with us, but for sure after three or four days with a fever, his physical condition is not at the top level” Conte said.

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta is confident ahead of tomorrow’s clash against newly-promoted side Huddersfield as the Premier League champions are keen to bounce back from their last disappointing defeat against West Ham United at Olympic Stadium.

“Every time you concede an early goal it makes it even more difficult, – the Spaniard said – Every game is difficult. You have to play 90 minutes very well to get the points. When you are 1-0 down it becomes harder. We are obviously disappointed with it. We need to analyse to bounce back from the defeat. I think we did not start the way that we had to start. We conceded an early goal and after this West Ham were in a dangerous position”.

West Ham are still involved in the relegation battle despite beating Chelsea in the London Derby: “Every point is important for them, but the same for us. So after this we were not able to create chances to score and when you are 1-0 down it is difficult and we were not able to come back. Big teams, after a defeat, we have to answer in a strong way. We know it is a tough place. We have the character and hopefully we can get the three points”.

‘We are in December and we cannot think more than this. – Azpilicueta added – We have a tough game against Huddersfield, we will try to get the three points on the road and get back to winning ways and keep going, keep pushing”.

“The first thing for us is to change the final result” said Chelsea manager Antonio Conte when asked about their last Premier League game against West Ham United.

“We dominated the game and controlled the game, shooted 19 times but we lost the game – he added – Tomorrow [against Huddersfield] we have to have a good final result. It is important to find a solution for the moment and not look too far. In this case it is right to make a rotation”.

Chelsea will face Huddersfield at 8PM tomorrow, while Manchester City and Manchester United will play their games on Wednesday night.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte spoke ahead of next Premier League clash against Huddersfield (kick-off time 8PM BST), but today the UEFA Champions League draw paired the Blues with current La Liga leaders Barcelona.

The Italian manager, when asked by Standard Sport about the game, claimed: “I think our priority must be the Premier League, to try to stay up and fight for a Champions League place. That must be our priority in this moment. Then when it will be the moment to play against Barcelona we will start to think of the game against Barcelona”.

Then Conte added: “We must be very realistic to understand that this league is very dangerous. We have to go game by game, play every game with 120% of our strength. Otherwise we risk to have a bad surprise at the end of the season.”
