It’s well-known Iker Casillas and José Mourinho relationship fell out in the last year the Portuguese was in charge at Real Madrid.

Maybe this is the reason why the current Porto goalkeeper liked Chelsea captain John Terry‘s post to celebrate today’s sensational win over Manchester United, that was trashed 4-0 by the Blues at Stamford Bridge.

Iker Casillas is fed up by all the controversy between himself and Jose Mourinho.

The pair spent three years together in Madrid when the Portuguese manager was in charge at Real, but in the last season their relationship fell down and misunderstandings between the goalkeeper – also the captain and legend at the Blancos – and the coach at the end led to a fracture between Mourinho and the players.

Three years went by and the pair faced each other in the Champions League group: Casillas won the battle in Porto where the Dragoes won the game, but Mourinho won the “war” by winning the last game, topping the group table and sending his ex team and the Spanish goalkeeper out of the Champions League.

Casillas was asked about the controversy between Mourinho and him after the game, and let understand that he’s tired of this issue:

“If I’m tired of the Mourinho-gate? Yes, I’ve had enough of it. I understand how fans are still interested, but it’s time to end that discussion. He’s got his career and I’ve got mine.

“We have different things to worry about, I’m not here to compete against him and he won’t be happy when he faces me, so I will worry about what’s best for me and my team, rather than worrying about what happens with the rest of the world.

About the Champions League elimination he added:

“We would’ve loved to be included in the Champions League draw, but we couldn’t make it. We have to make the best out of every situation, and the Europa League will be a big challenge for us. There will be a number of prestigious teams included in that draw, and we just hope we can make it to the final game and win it.”

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho took revenge on his former footballer Casillas after the Spaniard criticized him for choosing the wrong tactics when he was Real Madrid coach.

Some time ago, current Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas said that Mourinho’s tactics at the time when he was Real Madrid coach was wrong and it was the reason why the team was not very successful under him. Yesterday, Mourinho’s side knocked Porto out of the Champions League and the Special One with a great pleasure mocked his former goalkeeper.

Mourinho said:

”Now Casillas can win the only trophy he hasn’t won: the Europa League,”

“I have no problem with him. I’ve done my job and he’s done his well.”

Jose Mourinho has already started the mind games ahead of the Champions League last 16 draw on Monday. According to the Portuguese coach Chelsea are among the weakest side who qualified for the next phase of the tournament and and all the other teams hope to draw the Blues.

Mourinho said:

“I think everyone want to play us,”

”I think every second team wants to play us. They don’t want to play Barcelona, they don’t want to play Real Madrid, they don’t want to play Atletico [Madrid], they don’t want to play Bayern [Munich]. I think every team finishing second they want to get us, they want to get Zenit. We are the weakest.”

“What gives me confidence is the fact that we are playing ok in the last couple of months,”

“The results are not as good as the work we do every day or as good as the players are playing.”

“We would have had different results against Stoke, Tottenham and Bournemouth. The piece of luck that we had in our first goal – it is a great pass and a great move – but we are a bit lucky with the rebound. It is a great save from [Iker] Casillas. That little bit of luck we never get in the Premier league. A great decision by the official on the goal-line; we never get that in the Premier League.”

“The Premier League boss [Richard Scudamore] told me in an interview a few months ago that it would be good for the Premier League if Chelsea is now the champions,”

“But he didn’t say that it is good for the Premier League if we do not finish fourth.”

“While mathematically it is still possible let’s fight in every game for every point and see if it possible to finish fourth. To win the Champions League I think it is obvious that a team struggling so much like we are not obviously a candidate to win the Champions League.”

“But when we won in Porto in 2004 we were not candidates, when we won with Inter in 2010 we were not candidates. When when we were candidates we lost two semi-finals with Real Madrid and lost two semi-finals with Chelsea so you never know.”

FC Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas has announced that he and his team will do everything to stop Chelsea winning at Stamford Bridge.

Former Real Madrid player claims that the Portuguese team can’t wait to face Chelsea in the crucial Champions League Group G clash. As he admitted, FC Porto is obsessed to beat the Blues again but this time on their own ground.

Casillas said:

“Porto has not prepared for a defensive match because that will be a disaster and almost certainly result in a defeat,”

”We’re obsessed with staying in the Champions League.”

“We have had a good group phase but the pain was the defeat at home by Dinamo Kyiv.”

“That was our worst match of the season and we have to be confident that that will not damage our European chances.”

“Mourinho is a coach who will always want a victory and now against his old club. ”

“But we have the mentality that we can make them suffer at Stamford Bridge and get through the group phase.”

“To be out of the Champions League in the next few days would be a big blow.”

Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas stated that last night victory against Chelsea was just a team win, not his personal revenge or victory against José Mourinho, with whom he had some misunderstandings while the Blues boss was managing Real Madrid:

“I’m not happy because I beat Mourinho, I’m happy because I won with the team,” said Casillas, that last night made a record 152nd appearance in the Champions League.

“I greeted Mourinho. Shaking hands is the gentlemanly thing to go. So much time has passed. If we see each other we greet each other. It’s best not to live in the past, I don’t do that.

Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas is to break the record for Champions League appearances when he plays for the Portuguese club against Chelsea tonight, bettering the number currently held by compatriot Xavi.

Casillas, who spent an incredibly successful 16 years at Real Madrid, during which he won the Champions League in 2000, 2002 and 2014, will make his 152nd appearance in the competition should, as is expected, play against Jose Mourinho’s side this evening.

The former Real Madrid and Spain Number 1, who equaled the record in Porto’s 2-2 draw with Dynamo Kiev a fortnight ago, left the Santiago Bernabeu last summer as the club sought the signing of Manchester United’s David De Gea, an ultimately failed venture.

Of the highest appearances makers in the club football’s premier competition, several prominent members of Chelsea’s past and present feature in the top 25. Club captain John Terry and record goalscorer Frank Lampard have played 105 times, one behind former goalkeeper Petr Cech. Ashley Cole has the most with 108.
