Spanish striker Alvaro Morata yesterday completed his loan-move to Atletico Madrid where he will play for the next 18 months.

Using his Instragram account, Morata himself thanked Chelsea and the Blues’ supporters:

Thank you, goodbye and good luck!!” – Morata wrote.

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata upstaged teammate Cesc Fabregas on his last appearance with the Blues as the former Real Madrid star managed to score a brace which sent Maurizio Sarri‘s men to FA Cup Fourth Round on Saturday afternoon.

The ex Arsenal and Barcelona star, who missed a penalty in a tough first half at Stamford Bridge, then received a warm standing ovation as he left the pitch with five minutes left to go in the second period.

It is understood Fabregas will join AS Monaco in the next few days, after being handed the captain’s armband for his last game in a Chelsea shirt.

However, Alvaro Morata wanted to share his feelings via Instagram with an emotional post dedicated to his compatriot: “You do not know how much I’m going to miss you!” wrote the Spaniard.

“To you and your wonderful family, thank you very much for helping us in EVERYTHING possible.

“Thanks for all the moments lived and good luck in everything you do!”

Chelsea captain Gary Cahill was among the players which bid a heartfelt farewell to Antonio Conte, who left the club following two seasons in charge at Stamford Bridge.

The England international, who recently suffered a World Cup defeat against Croatia, wrote on his Instagram official account: “I would like to wish Antonio and his family best wishes for the future and thank him for helping me and Chelsea be successful during his time at the club”.

“A Premier League title and FA Cup winners medals are great memories we all shared together. Thank you Antonio. I wish you and all your coaches all the very best for the future”.

John Terry said his farewell to Antonio Conte following the news of is imminent sacking from the managerial role at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian manager, who joined the Blues in July 2016, won the Premier League title during his first season in charge as manager. And that was the last campaign for John Terry as a Chelsea player and captain.

The Chelsea legend wrote on Instagram: “Thank You Boss. Great man, Great manager. I wish you every success in the future”.

Then, the former Chelsea captain suddenly added another post on his Instagram account: “Love this man. Thanks for everything Boss”, Terry wrote.

In a time that should have been the most difficult season of my career, Antonio was honest, respectful and there for me whenever I needed him. I love working and learning from him. Thank you for everything boss”.

Charly Musonda Jr. could face a severe punishment from Chelsea after posting an image of a black screen with the following caption: “You sacrifice, you work hard, harder, you give more than what’s expected, and often more than you can, because you love what you do and clearly more than you should.

“And what do you get back? ‘Literally nothing,… done. However, with this being said I will continue with same dedication and commitment to this great game.”


Chelsea currently have a number of 34 players out on loan, with Tammy Abraham at Swansea and Kurt Zouma at Stoke City.

Chelsea youngster Matej Delac recently revealed: “It is true all of us players on loan are in a special Whatsapp group where we regularly get information on who played best that matchday, who was especially good, who played how many minutes,”

Former Chelsea captain and club’s legend John Terry showed gratitude as he called Diego Costa ‘an unavailable player and one of the nicest and funniest guys’ in football world.

“Good Luck Diego Costa in your next journey my friend, – he posted on Instagram – An unbelievable player and one of the nicest and funniest guys I have met in football, playing against him in training and games was an absolute nightmare, one of the best and underrated players I have played with and against”.

Some Chelsea players took on social media following the 6-0 victory in their Champions League opener at Stamford Bridge.

Pedro, Cesar Azpilicueta, Davide Zappacosta, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Michy Batshuayi‘s brace secured Chelsea a comfortable win against the Azerbaijan side.

“A perfect night” Azpilicueta wrote, “an amazing one” added Zappacosta, “we couldn’t start the Champions League any better” said Marcos Alonso.
