SINGAPORE - JULY 29: Milan Skriniar of FC Internazionale challenges Alvaro Morata of Chelsea FC during the International Champions Cup match between FC Internazionale and Chelsea FC at National Stadium on July 29, 2017 in Singapore.

Chelsea are set to make a move for Inter defender Milan Skriniar.

The Slovakia international impressed in his first five months at the Nerazzurri and he is attracting the interest of some European top sides, among them the one owned by Roman Abramovich.

The Blues are ready to splash clash on the 22-year-old, who signed for Inter for £ 15m plus bonuses last summer from Sampdoria,  but it won’t be easy to to prise him away from the San Siro as his current deal with Serie A side.

His deal with the Nerazzurri expires in the summer of 2022. So Chelsea will need to place a huge offer if they are to win the race in pursuit of the player.

Chelsea have joined Paris Saint Germain, Inter and Manchester United in the race for Serie A golden boy Pietro Pellegri.

The Genoa forward, only 16, is one of the new Serie A sensations, having scored already 3 goals in only 7 games with the first team ( and not always as a starter).

Genoa outlet Il Secolo XIX, claims the competition has got even stiffer as PSG have entered the race for Pellegri in the last days.

The French champions are reportedly scouting the Italian and they are preparing to swoop, even if Inter was ready to place a bid for him and another Genoa’s young talent, Eddy Salcedo ( who turned 16 last week).

Genoa, however, are hoping that Pellegri will opt to stay for at least two more years at the Rossoblu.

Speaking to Italian television RAI, Antonio Candreva‘s agent, Federico Pastorello has dismissed the claims of a possible move of the Italian winger to Chelsea.

“Candreva believes that he will stay”. – Pastorello said – “His desire is to continue at Inter and the club and Spalletti have said the same. So I believe this season he will remain at Inter, but in January Chelsea wanted him.”

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte would like a winger or another midfielder to complete his squad before the transfer window shuts down in ten days.

But after the signings of Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoué Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata the Italian manager can be already satisfied and he claims he will be happy even if there won’t be any new signing:

“The club is trying its best in the transfer market to improve our squad but I must be happy,” the Italian boss claimed after the win against Spurs.

Chelsea are after Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater and Inter winger Antonio Candreva.

According to Italian newspaper TuttosportInter Milan want to sign Andreas Christensen.

The Chelsea defender, who played for Borussia Moenchengladbach on loan last season, is rated £22.4 million. However, if the two sides will reach a deal, the most probable outcome will be a season-long loan with an obligatory option to make the move permanent.

Chelsea and Inter Milan are talking also about Antonio Candreva with the Italian winger who can become a new player for Antonio Conte‘s side.

Chelsea are ready to splash £ 38.5m to sign Antonio Candreva from Inter.

The Italian winger was signed only one year ago from the Nerazzurri, who paid £ 19.7m to Lazio to secure his services.

Candreva’s first and only season at San Siro was full of high and lows but Blues manager Antonio Conte knows the player very well since he was one of his key-players in the Italian national team and he’s really keen to sign him.

Chelsea need a player like Candreva to have more attacking options, especially now that Eden Hazard hasn’t still recovered from his ankle injury and that new signing Alvaro Morata has to adapt to a new idea of football.

Candreva knows Conte and his playing style and would be faster in adaptation.

This deal, that seems to be close, would push away Ivan Perisic from Manchester United, since Inter don’t want to sell both of their wingers and are trying to convince the Croatian international to stay and decline Red Devils‘ offer.

After the Asian pre-season tour, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois believes Chelsea are on the right way to be competitive also this season in the Premier League.

There are, however, some aspects of the game which need to be improved by the Blues.

“I think the performance was okay,” – Courtois told Chelsea official website commenting the match vs Inter Milan – “In the first half both teams had a lot of possession. They had an early chance and I made a save but just before half-time the referee saw a penalty where there wasn’t one. Azpi played the ball, he might have brushed against the guy with his arm but I don’t think you can say it was a penalty. It was a pity because I saved it but then I was unlucky with the rebound. We didn’t start the second half well, I made a good save and as we were pushing for a goal they hit us on the counter attack. It was a bit like the Bayern game, with us conceding goals on the break so we need to work on that. ‘Some players like Antonio Rudiger only joined recently and he was away at the Confederations Cup with Germany. I don’t think he lost a lot of fitness but he might need a little bit more work, we will all be ready for the season though.”

Alvaro Morata signed for Chelsea ten days ago and joined his new team-mates in Singapore last weekend.

The Spanish striker had trained with Real Madrid in California in the week before his move, but he arrived to Asia out of shape, that’s why he didn’t impress in his first two unofficial appearances with Chelsea in Singapore, as Blues boss Antonio Conte reveals:

“Morata is having training with us and for sure he has to improve a lot his physical condition to go quickly to the idea of our football,” the Italian coach told his media conference on Saturday.

“But he is working very well and today he tried to do his best but for sure he has to improve.”

Antonio Conte claims Chelsea have to remain with feet on the ground in the approach of the new season.

The Blues lost their last two games of the Asian tour against Bayern Munich ( 2-3) and Inter ( 1-2) and the Italian manager is concerned his side can repeat the two years ago debacle, with Chelsea dropping to relegation zone in a couple months as defending Premier League champions:

“We know that it will be difficult next season, and we want to avoid the previous season after winning the league. Two years ago, the team finished 10th place in the league and we want to avoid this.

“Two coaches were sacked from Chelsea after they won the league. I want to avoid, and the players want to avoid, the last season with Mourinho.

New £60 million striker Alvaro Morata was given his first start against Inter but struggled to make an impression and was replaced in the second half.

“Morata is starting now and he has to improve his condition a lot. He is working very well and has been with us only five days. Today, he tried to do his best, but for sure, he has to improve.”

About a possible strike partnership with Morata and Michy Batshuayi, Conte said:

“Now, it is necessary because we don’t have other players.”

Conte admits the tight schedule has been tough on his players, but he insists the experience in Singapore made a very positive impression.

“We played against two strong teams in Bayern Munich and Inter Milan in a very important period for us because we are working very hard.

“But to play three games with the same players means we are tired, very tired.

“We must be pleased about the atmosphere and our fans because to find so many Chelsea fans in China and Singapore is great and I think this is big responsibility for us. We have a lot of supporters all over the world and in Singapore there was a fantastic atmosphere.

“I want to thank all of our fans because they were fantastic. We saw a lot of fans a the hotel, waiting for the players’ autographs and photos. I think this is a big responsibility for us.”

The future of Nemanja Matic remains uncertain, this is how Conte replied on this matter:

“I know nothing about this. You have to ask the club.”

The Italian coach was also asked for his thoughts on the incredible long-range own goal that Geoffrey Kondogbia scored in Chelsea’s favour.

“It can happen. People who play football know very well that this kind of thing can happen.”
