After losing 1-0 to Leicester City today – the third defeat in the past month- Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri claimed to be concerned:

“The match changed after the goal. We played well for 55 minutes,” the Italian manager told BBC Sport after the game.

“After the goal the reaction was not the right reaction.

“We reacted a little shocked and with mental confusion.

“We had to only keep playing like we did before the goal, there was time to recover.

“I think that of course in some situations we were unlucky but I think that we could have done something better.”

Asked whether losing to ‘smaller’ teams was a source of concern, Sarri added:

“Yes it concerns me, we have to understand the reason for it.”

Chelsea lose 1-0 against Leicester City at home and ruin his fans Christmas.

The Blues didn’t impress but seemed in control in the first part of the match but Jamie Vardy’s goal at 55′ changed everything and, once again, Maurizio Sarri’s lads weren’t able to react.

The Blues are still fourth in table with 37 points levelled with Arsenal that won 3-1 against Burnley today thanks to a better goal difference ( 20-16).

Next game is on Boxing day at Watford.

Chelsea are going to Wembley for the second year in a row: the Blues gained the pass to FA CUP semifinals after beating Leicester City away for 2-1 at extra time, Pedro scored the decisive goal at 105′, after Morata and Vardy netted the two goals in the 90′.

It was a tough game, with the Foxes believing in it in every minute of the game and showing the same passion and determination that allowed them to win the title two years ago.

Alvaro Morata was back to score when in the end of the first half he netted the ball with a fantastic finish after a great assist of Willian in a counter-attack.

Vardy equalised with 15′ to go after a series of rebounds in Chelsea box and this meant extra time.

It was Pedro to get Chelsea the pass to Wembley scoring with a header in the end of the first exta time after Kasper Schmeichel didn’t choose the right timing coming out of the goal.

Now Conte’s side will face Southampton at Wembley in one month.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte claimed he will do everything to play another semifinal and final at Wembley this season.

Last year his team beat Spurs in the semifinal and then was defeated by Arsenal in the final:

This is a great competition one of the most important in the world,” the Italian coach said.

“Last season we were very good to reach the final at Wembley, playing the quarter finals against Manchester United and semifinal against Spurs. Now we will try to do the same.

“To win a trophy in England is always very tough, before winning it you know that you have to face strong teams. In this competition there are United and Tottenham but also other teams that want to try to make the history in the cup

“I think every trophy is important for us, we started the season to try to fight until the end for every competition, in the Carabao Cup we were in the semifinal, in the Champions League we reached the last 16, if we win we can play another semifinal at Wembley in this competition, this must be our target.

“To try to go to next round to reach the semifinal in the FA Cup won’t be easy, Leicester are a good team, in the last game we played agains them at home we suffered. We will do our best to qualify for the next Champions League, we still have targets.”

Asked who is the favourite goalkeeper to start on Sunday, Conte replied:

“I think that we’re talking about two good goalkeepers, Thibaut [Courtois] and Willy [Caballero], tomorrow I will try to make the best decision, because we want to go to next round.”

Eden Hazard has failed to score in the last three games:

“Maybe he could score on Sunday,” Conte replied.

On tomorrow’s rivals:

“We’re talking about a team that two years ago won the title, they want to fight a lot, we suffered a lot in the last game, we ran a lot, they are dangerous, we must pay great attention to them.

“Special plans are to try to defend well, we all know Vardy‘s characterstics, he’s very clever, he’s good in finding the right time to attack the space. They have other dangerous players like Ineacho and Okazaki.”

Speaking about the Champions League knock out against Barcelona he said:

“It was a pity to go out, especially because we made two good performances, we have to try move on.

“It’s true we played against Barcelona the other night, but we could rest, so I will pick up the best solution for Sunday’s game.”

First reactions from Chelsea boss Antonio Conte after the important win at King Power Stadium this afternoon.

The Italian manager looked, of course, very pleased after beating Leicester City 2-1 away:

“We must be delighted because we had a good performance,” said Conte.

“We played very well. We were in total control and could have scored more goals.”

Jamie Vardy scored for the Foxes on penalty with 30 minutes to go, putting pressure on Chelsea in the last part of the game:

“After the penalty it changed the situation.

“They tried to push but despite this we had chances to improve the score. It is a good result and a good performance.

“After the international break it is not easy.

“I am happy for N’Golo Kante. He performed very well but this is not news,” Conte said about the French midfielder, who scored the winner.

WEST BROMWICH, ENGLAND - APRIL 29: Jamie Vardy of Leicester City celebrates after scoring his sides first goal during the Premier League match between West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City at The Hawthorns on April 29, 2017 in West Bromwich, England.

Rumours linking English star Jamie Vardy to Chelsea were dismissed today.

In the past week reports suggested the Blues were looking for another striker to add to their squad and that they had targeted the England international.

But according to the Leicester Mercury, a source that is really close to the Foxes, Vardy has no chance to leave the Midlands side.

The Leicester newpaper reported:

“The Mercury understands there is no possibility of any deal and the player himself does not want to move.

Vardy signed a new long-term contract last summer after Arsenal‘s much-publicised transfer bid and wants to cement his legendary status at the club and among the fans.”

Chelsea fans are reacting in a very positive way to reports about the chance the Blues will sign striker Jamie Vardy before summer transfer window’s end.

More than a fan, actually, believe that with Alvaro Morata and Vardy together, Chelsea can win the Premier League title for the second consecutive season.

“Vardy, Batshuayi, Morata striker partnership would win us the league. No doubt. Vardy very suited to our system.“; “Morata & Vardy upfront with Hazard behind them will take us to whole another level. Pedro as a super sub, bin Willian”; “Morata and Vardy upfront will be deadly. Full of Pace trick and Goals Galore” are just some of the comments posted on Twitter in the last few days about the Leicester striker.

Not only Danny Drinkwater: Chelsea are holding talks with Leicester City also for their main star, Jamie Vardy.

The Blues are still looking for a striker to replace Diego Costa, set to leave the club after falling down with manager Antonio Conte.

Chelsea already splashed £ 67m to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, but the Spaniard has not convinced Conte yet, so the Italian boss would like to add another forward to his squad.

That is why they are considering a shock move for the man who led the Foxes to win an unexpected title two seasons ago: Leicester City fee request for him won’t be under £ 45m.
