AS Roma forward Edin Dzeko admitted he wanted to stay at the Serie A side as “nobody wanted me to move to Chelsea”.

It is understood the Blues were closing in on a move to land the Bosnia-Erzegovina striker in January, before the move collapsed. And Dzeko recently told Face TV: “Chelsea is a big challenge and I know what kind of a club that is, I’ve been at Man City and I wasn’t ready to move to Chelsea”.

“Nobody I spoke to wanted me to move to Chelsea so I decided to stay.

Dzeko added: “It has been tough period, a lot of stories and information, true and false, were written, everything went through my head, I wasn’t clear or certain of anything at the time.”

Today can be the day that Emerson Palmieri and Edin Dzeko will finally move to Stamford Bridge after a negotiation lasted one week.

It is believed the two AS Roma players agreed personal terms with Chelsea yesterday and now they are ready to travel to London to undergo medicals and put pen on their new deals.

In these days the Giallorossi are staying in Milan after playing Inter on Sunday night and ready to travel to Genova tomorrow to play the game they still have in hand against Sampdoria, after it was cancelled last September due to bad weather. This is why, also, Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco wanted to wait for their transfer.

Rumours claims the Bosnian forward has already said goodbye to his team-mate and is heading to the airport in these minutes to travel to London.

The deal should be close for a fee in the region of £ 52m, £ 35m for Palmieri ( who was sidelined in the first part of the season since he was still recovering from an ACL injury) and the rest for the former Manchester City striker.

It’s just matter of time before their move to Chelsea will be official.

In this exclusive picture from Italian TV Mediaset Premium we can see Dzeko loading luggage to a car, ready to board on a flight to London.

Goal.com reports Sevilla are keen to sign Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi on loan for the rest of the season.

The Belgian forward, who scored the goal that brought the title at Stamford Bridge against WBA last season, has struggled to compete with Alvaro Morata for a starting role this season, with the former Real Madrid striker the preferred option following his £58 million move last summer.

World Cup Russia 2018 is getting closer and Batshuayi would like to be included in the Belgium squad by coach Roberto Martinez, so he is not keen to miss other minutes in order to prepare for the competition and, meanwhile, to improve his playing and form.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte complaints about his club’s activity on transfer market, claiming he rarely get the players he wishes for:

“I always ended up at clubs who were running an austerity programme,” he said speaking also the past experiences of his coach career.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte spoke ahead of next Premier League clash against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium today. The Italian boss had his say on transfer market window, which re-opens on January 3rd.

“The club has to take the best decision for the team – Conte told journalists in Cobham – I am the coach and my main task is to work on the pitch with my players. If the club decides to ask me something about my team I try to give my opinion”.

“There’s a lot of speculation and it’s normal when the transfer window starts. It’s difficult for every coach. For us, I think this period we must be very focused on our target. Tomorrow we have a tough game against Arsenal and we need to find the right concentration”.

When asked if Chelsea could place a bid to land Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini to Stamford Bridge, Conte said: “No, Giorgio is a good player but he’ll want to finish his career at Juventus. It’s right to finish his career in this way”.

“For every coach it’s the same situation. I’m used to working on the pitch. I’ll give my opinion if the club ask for it for where we can strengthen. The club then decide what’s the best for the team”.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte confirmed he will speak to the club directors regarding the possibility to spend on some new signings in this winter transfer window:

“We have 18 senior players, but I think this consideration must be done with the club. I will give my opinion when I speak with the club,” the Blues manager said after the win against Brighton.

“But in the end the club has always the last word, like in the summer.

“Then we will divide the responsibility with me and with the club. We will do it together.”

The former Blues boss and the Brazilian winger have always got a huge mutual respect for each other and a move to the Red Devils could be possible since he is starting to grow frustrated as he is lacking with opportunities under Antonio Conte this year.

Man United have already shown interest for Willian but Chelsea do not wish to sell during next January transfer window unless they receive an extraordinary offer.

Chelsea youngster Fikayo Tomori has joined Championship title chasers Brighton on loan for the rest of this campaign.

The 19-year-old right-back, who has made one first-team appearance for the Blues, was targeted by several League clubs.

Tomori has played for England at Under-20 level and can also operate as a left-back or central defender.

“He is a highly-rated young full-back, by both Chelsea and England,” Brighton manager Chris Hughton told to the official Seagulls website.

“He is predominantly a right-back, but he can play in any position across the back four, and will give us good defensive cover for the first team for the second half of the season.”
