Chelsea are interested in West Ham versatile midfielder Michail Antonio, according to reports in the London Evening Standard.

Anyway, the report suggested that the Hammers are reluctant to sell the 26-year-old in the January transfer window and won’t accept any bid for the former Nottingham Forest star, who joined the London team on a £7m move in the summer of 2015.

It is understood Antonio Conte appreciates players with stamina and versatility, with Victor Moses who became a key player of his squad this season.

Antonio’s ownership is still uncertain as West Ham are reportedly not interested in selling the England international, who recently signed a four-year deal to stay at the Olympic Stadium.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, speaking after FA Cup clash against Peterborough, told journalists: “My club knows my opinion about transfer market. In January it’s not easy. In this window it’s very difficult to find great players but we are seeing if we are able to find the opportunity to improve this team”.

“We will continue with these players, – Conte added – Ake is coming back and Kenedy and Musonda are working with us. It’s important for me to evaluate this profile and make the best decision”.

“We are at the top of the table with this squad and I’m grateful to my players for this. If we find the opportunity to improve the squad, we will do it, but I’m very happy to work with this group of players”.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was interviewed by Italian SkySport at White Hart Lane last time out, when the Blues lost against Tottenham Hotspur.

When asked about transfer market strategy following the departure of Mikel and Oscar, Conte said: “I speak with the staff every day, if we have the opportunity to sign in this transfer window we’ll try to do it,  for sure”.

“There are some positions that if we are able to find the right solution…it’s important to take a good solution”.

The Italian manager ended: “Anyway is very difficult to find good targets in January, we could try some youngsters from our Academy”.

Chelsea are confident they can beat Arsenal to sign Wolfsburg left-back Ricardo Rodriguez this month, according to reports in England.

The Switzerland international is contracted until June 2019 and Chelsea are reportedly lining up a £21m bid to land the left-back  to Stamford Bridge.

With Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta in that position, Rodriguez could represent a new back-up in Antonio Conte‘s five-man midfield.

Conte is said to be interested also in Genoa midfielder Diego Laxalt as Chelsea could place a huge bid for the Uruguayan star next summer.

PSV Eindhoven confirmed the return of Marco van Ginkel on loan from Chelsea.

This is the official statement the Dutch club just posted on their website:

Marco van Ginkel will spend the remainder of the 2016/17 campaign on loan from Chelsea with Eredivisie champions PSV. The midfielder will sign his contract on 2 January before joining Phillip Cocu’s squad for training.

Fully fit 
After a successful first loan spell in Eindhoven, PSV were hopeful of bringing the player back on another loan deal, but Van Ginkel revealed a persistent knee injury had dashed his hopes of returning to PSV. He remained at Chelsea to correct the problem with his knee that he had been nursing for several months. Meanwhile he has had some matches with Chelsea’s U23 side under his belt. “I am happy to have taken this road”, said Van Ginkel. “I needed rest and physiotherapy but I feel I am ready now to play football at the highest level again and I am grateful for PSV to have offered me this opportunity. I had a really good time in Eindhoven last season and winning the Dutch championship was amazing. I am fully fit again and hope to have more of the same in 2017.”

Adds experience to the squad
PSV’s director of football Marcel Brands thinks that Marco van Ginkel is a player who adds a wealth of experience to the squad. “We kept in touch with him the past few months because we looked for January reinforcements. We are happy Marco has returned to the Philips Stadion and are delighted to have bolstered the squad with his signing.”

Strong character
PSV head Phillip Cocu is also satisfied with the return of Marco van Ginkel and hailed his strong character. “He is a truly great box-to-box midfielder with stamina, tactical astuteness and defensive as well as attacking diligence. Moreover he is a clinical finisher. He showed his skills last season. I like his style of playing and I am happy he is back.” Last season, Van Ginkel scored eight goals in 13 league appearances as PSV won the Dutch title for a 23rd time.

Roma are keen on Chelsea young winger Charlie Musonda Jr.: the Belgium U21 international was loaned at Real Betis but returned to London last month to join Antonio Conte‘s first team squad.

The Italian club are scouted him to see if it’s possible to bring him to the Italian capital in the next January transfer window.

Chelsea made a last attempt to persuade Axel Witsel, according to The Sun. 

It is understood the Belgian midfielder, who’s out of contract at Zenit St-Petersburg, prepares to join Juventus in the January transfer market window, anyway Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is reportedly still considering to land the 27-year-old to Stamford Bridge.

Witsel has reportedly rejected the move as he wants to remain loyal to the Serie A champions, who failed to sign him on Deadline Day last summer.

In the past days it was rumoured that Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG offered Chelsea more than £ 50m for Oscar, that is also attracted by a huge money offer for him.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte didn’t dimiss the speculation and commented the situation like this:

“I dont know the amount and the situation, but I think you will know the situation in the right moment.

“It’s not easy to take the best decision, you have also to understand if you choice penalise you, even if there is an amazing offer.

“If we will replace him in January? I always speak with the club, with the board, they know my thought about the situation. We will try to take the best decision, but I am very sorry if I will go, for the player, for the man.”

Conte was consulted Chinese Super League, that is trying to attract big players and managers with insane money offers and was asked if he scared about them:

“The Chinese market is a danger for every team in the world, not only for Chelsea, but I think we must be concentrated on our work. In China there is a lot of money , but I guess this league is fantastic, it must be a honour to work here.

“I can’t predict the future of a single player, I think every single player is the owner of his future.
