Wednesday night Antonio Conte was at Stamford Bridge to watch Chelsa U18s team win the fourth consecutive Fa Youth Cup vs Manchester City.

After the game the Italian manager went to the dressing room to congratulate and give a speech to the young Blues players.

“After the game he was in the dressing room, giving a speech, saying well done”. – Jodi Morris, Chelsea U18s manager said – He is a really good guy. He is not only someone who has done a bit in the game, he’s helping Chelsea at the minute. I like to go and watch him as much as I can. I did the same when Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink were here. Any manager in charge of Chelsea’s first team is going to be top draw. I want to learn. I’m always over there watching”.

Chelsea U18 coach Jody Morris share his satisfaction after leading the young Blues to win their fourth Youth Cup in four years, the sixth of the past eight editions.

Morris’ kids obtained their success after winning 6-2 on aggregate on Manchester City:

The big players turned up for us when we needed them to,” Morris told the official Chelsea website after the game.

“Winning breeds winning and we’re lucky enough to have a first team that set the standard in that respect. We’ve had teams before us in this competition that have performed and won on many occasions so it’s nice for us to emulate them and with some special performances at the Bridge against Tottenham and Man City as well.’

On the game, he said:

“We started quickly but the most pleasing thing for me was that we finished our chances.

“We’ve been cursing often this season that we should have scored more goals in games but we put them away at the most important time. We knew City had to come forward to chase the game and we’ve got players that can hurt teams, which we did.”

Morris and his guys are also in the race to win the U18 league:

“The reason we’ve done so well in every competition and improved game after game is because we put such a focus on our league results. We’ve been on fantastic unbeaten runs and beaten records this season because we expect to win every game. That has definitely played a part in us winning the Youth Cup again but we want to finish the job in the league now and win on Saturday.”

Chelsea youngsters will play the second leg of FA Youth Cup final tonight (7.45PM BST) at Stamford Bridge against Manchester City, following the 1-1 they got last week. Chelsea will play the FA Cup final at Stamford Bridge for the sixth year in a row.

In Manchester Chelsea took the lead but the hosts leveled in the second half: “We know we’ve got to defend better first and foremost, – head coach Jody Morris told the official Chelsea website – As we look ahead to the final”.

“We have to make sure we’re not taking as many risks in possession and leaving gaps at the back. The minute we lose the ball, we need better reactions and better transitions to get back into shape because we gave them far too many chances. I felt we were the better side in the first half but City still had the two clear-cut opportunities”.
