Chelsea club captain John Terry could have had his final words today published in the match programme when they take on Leicester City at Stamford Bridge.

Terry takes time out to congratulate Leicester City on their title triumph and then talks emotionally about his time with Chelsea over the years and how much the supporting fans mean to him.

“I want to congratulate Leicester on their title, especially Claudio, as our former manager + Huthy & Schwarz, as ex-team-mates. From my point of view, as a Chelsea player, if anyone else was going to win it, I’d have wanted Leicester to win it.

“Leicester have been the best side this year, now we have to come back strong next season & perform a lot better than we have done. For a club like this, and a group of players of our ability, this season’s not been acceptable. We want to end on a positive note.

“I want to thank Guus ahead of his last game in charge – he has been unbelievable for me. He has helped me a lot this year. Not only as a manager but as a father-figure too. Guus’ door has always been open and you never forget that stuff as a player.

“What Guus achieved in his last spell here and what he has done for the players this time has been phenomenal. All the players, and I think the fans as well, love Guus to bits because he cares about Chelsea.

“I also want to thank the staff, both at Cobham and Stamford Bridge, for all their hard work and everything they do for us.

“Now the supporters. This season you have cheered us through difficult times and you will always be there. Players will come and go. Managers will come and go. The fans will always be there, from the age of 14 I have seen the love you have for this football club. I have been in the stands with you and I am very fortunate to be where I am now; on the pitch, captain of this great football club.

“From the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of all the players, we thank you fans for everything, for backing us this season. And through the success we’ve had over the years. That’s where we want to get back to, together. We want to fight for titles again.

“We hope this year is just a blip that doesn’t reoccur soon. Come on the Chels!”

Current English champion Claudio Ranieri will be back tomorrow to Stamford Bridge with Leicester City, in the stadium where he started his Premier League adventure sixteen years ago and where he stayed four years, until José Mourinho came in his first spell in 2004.

The Italian manager admitted that it will be an emotional return for him:

“I don’t know how I will feel. I saw some of the Chelsea supporters with placards saying ‘Do it for Claudio’ and I would like to thank them all personally for that.

“I have been back to Stamford Bridge with Juventus in the Champions League, but this will be different.

“When I left Chelsea the players gave me a guard of honour. It was one of the greatest moments of my sporting life.

Speaking about his incredible triumph with the Foxes he said:

“It’s impossible for me to reflect on everything right now because it’s too fresh. I need time to put it all into perspective.

“But it just shows that if you believe in yourself, then sooner or later it will come to you.”

“It hasn’t changed my mind about me but maybe it has changed other people’s.

“I knew very well what I had achieved but it’s not important for me to be given credit or not.”

Ranieri also said that he is sorry John Terry is suspended, because he would have loved to see him on the pitch:

“That’s sad because he is like a son to me,” he said.

“I wanted him to be out there on the pitch.”

Also Frank Lampard sent a message to his friend and ex team-mate John Terry, who might leave Chelsea at the end of this season.

The Blues all time top scorer said he was sorry not to present tonight, but he was stuck in the USA for duties with his new team New York City FC:

“John Terry is the greatest Premier League defender, beyond a doubt,” Lampard started.

“Thank you John for being able to play alongside you. We as Chelsea people want him to stay involved with the club.

“Thank you Chelsea fans for continuing to support the club and me. The club will be back and challenging again very soon,” he concluded.

A very emotional tribute was paid to Chelsea legend John Terry at tonight Player of the Year award ceremony.

A video showing messages from Didier Drogba, Gianfranco Zola, Ruud Gullit and Gianluca Vialli was showed.

Drogba said: “My first memory of John Terry was my first day at Chelsea. He welcomed me, I didn’t know at the time he was captain.”

“He was so young. I thought, who is this guy? He’s a beast! From that day I have seen that John Terry is a great leader.”

Vialli added: “John, I hope you don’t forget who gave you your debut. Unfortunately I couldn’t make you a regular, I was sacked…”

John Terry couldn’t hold back tears after this and when he was called on stage he was too emotional to step up there, while the whole room was chanting “JOHN TERRY! JOHN TERRY!”.

It’s news from today that Chelsea offered his captain a new deal, but the Blues skipper later revealed with a post on his Instagram account that the role they offered to him is different and he needs time to think about it.

NEW SQUAD - “It’s up to the new management to do changes, yes or no”

JOHN TERRY- “Of course I spoke to the club about John’s situation, players and ex players are having a lot of influence in the culture of the club, I’m in favor of that, it’g good to have players in the club with big personality.

“I don’t if we can know more before this weekend match, but usually when things are clear, then they come out, the club will do it official as soon as it’s clear

“He’s been already 20-21 years in this club, it’s a huge period, you must cherish those legends for the future as well.”

DIEGO COSTA/ COURTOIS injured - “He will be out, hamstring, Courtois – that was ill for Anfield game- was again on the pitch, he was training, and I think he will be ok for the weekend

QUIQUE SANCHEZ FLORES – I was a little surprised [he was sacked by Watford] I worked a lot with him in Valencia and Madrid, when he was my player he was 23-24, he’s a good guy, a good professional, I don’t know why they took this decision

FRANK DE BOER - “I have known Frank for many years, he was my player in the national team at France 98, in the world cup in France, I like the job Philip Cocu did in PSV, they are champions, they started with youngsters, Cocu is similar to him, and I think they both have the ambition to step up to La Liga or Premier League

EURO 2016 - “A favourite? I don’t usually do predictions, but I might be a supporter of Belgium team now, I have also some English guys, so it’s difficult to pick, but I think Belgium might be a very good favorite.2

DIEGO COSTA INJURED/ EURO - “I think he can be available, he will have a good rest, but with a good traiming he can make it, I am not sure.

HIS FAREWELL ON SUNDAY - “It’s not a definitive farewell, but I will be back- as I said many times before- to help the club and advince them in the development of young players, so it’s not so dramatic.

HIS SECOND SPELL AT CHELSEA - “When they asked me, to be honest, I don’t know if say YES or NO, then I was very pleased to do it, and I am pleased of what I have done. The escape from relegation zone was good, I would have loved to go into the FA cup final, I would have loved to go at least two more rounds on in the UCL.”

DISAPPOINTING SEASON - “We must face the fact that for Chelsea standards this has been a season with disappointment, but we have to go on and be competitive in the next season.

“We were happy with the reaction when we were close to the relegation zone, then when we were mid table we had to set new targets, the Chelsea standard we put to it’s not achieved and we have to be critical of that.”

LEICESTER – “They were reacting very well, they didn’t implode, they could cope with the pressure and they deserved.”

NEXT PL SEASON - “There can be surprises, they can sign good players, there are no more 4-5 teams that compete every year for the title, and I think is good for football.”

YOUNGSTERS’ DEBUT – “Youngsters must deserve the debut, it’s a huge step from the academy to the first team, they have to make a step, like Traore did in the last months, he’s got a great mentality, he’s not afraid to come in, the other ones have to make the step as well

ChelseaNews24 asked to Hiddink which YOUNGSTERS he would advice to keep to develop with the FIRST TEAM and which ones to go on LOAN, he replied to us:

“I guess to make names is not fair because then you put pressure on them, but I guess that at the beginning of the season the new staff will select many of them to do the pre-season, and there you can see after a couople of weeks who deserves to stay and who have to go.

ACADEMY PLAYERS - When academy players train with the first team, then they start to knock on the door, they must the experience to train as much as possible with the first team, and then it’s natural

MIKEL DEFENDER - “Once we were out of the relegation zone we had to deal with injuries in the defense, so we had to reshuffle Mikel had a good half season, so he had to play as a defender, he wasn’t in favorite position, but he showed he could that as well.”

INJURIES – Ivanovic was on the pitch, but not fully fit, we have to see tomorrow

Chelsea could have made an incredible u-turn regarding John Terry‘s future and the Blues captain would possibly stay another year at Stamford Bridge if what The Sun reveals is true.

According to the British paper the organisers of the club’s end of season awards gala had included a section paying tribute to the 35-year-old “captain, leader, legend”.

But Chelsea officials contacted coordinators on Wednesday to tell them to take that planned section out of the running order.

It is understood that next boss Antonio Conte wants to keep Terry, since his experience and knowledge of the club could help him in his delicate job in the upcoming season.

Terry received offers from China and USA, but he stated last Monday that he would love to play two years more at Chelsea.

Terry’s contract expire this summer and Blues owner Roman Abramovic is set to make a final decision next week.

Chelsea skipper Oscar is hoping that Terry stay at Stamford Bridge.

He said: “His future is down to him and Chelsea to decide what’s best. “Obviously I want him to stay but it’s down to them”. He’s a great leader and he has helped me ever since I arrived here.

“I like him very much but he will know what’s best for his future and whatever he decides I’ll be happy for him”.

Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink has admitted it’s not easy to say how John Terry’s contract situation is going to end, despite he “hopes for the best”.

Speaking after yesterday’s defeat against Liverpool, the Dutchman spoke about Chelsea captain: “Let’s wait to see what happens in the upcoming days on this issue,”

“Of course John Terry is in contact every day with us and he has made such a long career at Chelsea that the fans appreciate him highly. We will see regarding his near future, let’s wait a bit.”

“Hopefully both are wise parties and let’s hope for the best. It is difficult to see which direction it is going.”
