Chelsea skipper John Terry has backed Jose Mourinho to succeed at Manchester United and claims he is the best manager that he has ever worked with.

Terry, speaking at the Horan and Rose charity dinner, talked about the delight Manchester United fans must be feeling and wanted to wish him luck in the future.

“It’s fantastic news for Manchester United.

“I’m sure that United’s fans and players will be delighted with that because, as I’ve said many times before, he’s the best manager I’ve worked under.

“It was unfortunate the way it ended at Chelsea this year but I wish him well because he’s also a great man. He’ll be great for Manchester United, I’m sure.

“The weather is slightly different maybe… but it’s a fantastic place to be and I’m sure he’ll settle in well with the likes of Ryan Giggs – hopefully he’ll stay and support him as well.”

Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic spoke about John Terry after the captain signed a new deal to stay at Stamford Bridge one more year.

Begovic believes the one-year contract offered to Terry is a good move by the club and told Sky Sports News HQ: “It’s very important. John’s a legend and always will be, and is a great person to have around.”

“He has presence, and we will look forward to having him around the dressing room next season.”

Chelsea and England centre-back Gary Cahill has expressed his happiness after defensive partner John Terry agreed to stay with Chelsea for another season.

John Terry‘s future at Stamford Bridge was under huge doubt until the very last minute when the club offered him a 1-year extension, which he accepted.

Cahill said that he and the Chelsea squad are very happy that Terry is staying.

“All the lads are very happy, I am sure the fans are very happy, so it is a great end to the season in that respect.

“But, for us, I just echo what everyone is thinking: A great boost for the club.

“Although it kind of dragged on for a while, it has been sorted now and we look forward to him being part of this squad like he has been for many, many years. It is fantastic news.”

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas spoke about John Terry after his captain accepted new one-year contract.

The Spaniard told Goal.com: “He has had a fantastic career for Chelsea. It is not easy nowadays to start your career somewhere and finish it at the same club.” 

“Very, very few players can say that, especially nowadays when everything is so tough and everyone demands so much from you,”

“he has dealt with it very, very well and won a lot of trophies so it is very good from him.”

Chelsea just announced they extended the contract with John Terry for another year.

Former Chelsea midfielder Deco believes John Terry can play in Premier League with Blues for at least one more year.

The 35-year-old’s future at Stamford Bridge has been heavily discussed after Terry in person revealed he is considering the one-year contract extension.

The Portuguese told Omnisport: “Terry is a fantastic captain,”

“He’s a legend of the club, he’s a reference for the players and, of course, he deserves one year more. I think he can still play at a high level.”

“But like I said, he’s a legend, he’s important for the club and for the young players too, and of course I think he’s good to stay one more year.”
