Juventus and Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini reveals how is to work under Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, who was his coach both in the Turin club and the Italian national team:

“Conte is like a police sergeant,” he told the Daily Mail.

“We felt something very special in his atmosphere, for three years with him at Juventus and two years in the national team. When you finish training, you are dead. Not tired, dead.

“You can do it only because you believe in what he does. We had 40 days in France[Euro 2016] and it was like entering another world. You are 100 percent with him. He creates an atmosphere, everyone gives energy to each other. For sure he is one of the very best.”

Italy will have to miss out on this year’s major tournament after their playoff loss to Sweden, the first time they will miss out on the World Cup for over 60 years.

“Honestly, it will be like a dagger in my stomach,” said Chiellini on not being in Russia, “It will not be a good month. I will see bits and check the scores but I can’t imagine sitting at the TV to watch the World Cup at home.”

“Pep Guardiola spoiled and ruined the Italian defenders. He is a fantastic coach with a fantastic mind but Italian trainers have tried to copy him without the same knowledge and then in the last 10 years, we lost our identity.”

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte spoke ahead of next Premier League clash against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium today. The Italian boss had his say on transfer market window, which re-opens on January 3rd.

“The club has to take the best decision for the team – Conte told journalists in Cobham – I am the coach and my main task is to work on the pitch with my players. If the club decides to ask me something about my team I try to give my opinion”.

“There’s a lot of speculation and it’s normal when the transfer window starts. It’s difficult for every coach. For us, I think this period we must be very focused on our target. Tomorrow we have a tough game against Arsenal and we need to find the right concentration”.

When asked if Chelsea could place a bid to land Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini to Stamford Bridge, Conte said: “No, Giorgio is a good player but he’ll want to finish his career at Juventus. It’s right to finish his career in this way”.

“For every coach it’s the same situation. I’m used to working on the pitch. I’ll give my opinion if the club ask for it for where we can strengthen. The club then decide what’s the best for the team”.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte wants to sign AC Milan unsettled star Leonardo Bonucci when the transfer market window reopens in January, according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport.

The former Juventus defender, who played under Conte’s management enjoying also an experience with the Italy National Team at Euro 2016, would be reportedly keen to reunite with his former head coach in a near future.

Bonucci joined the Rossoneri on a reported £36m move from Juventus last summer, but could face a move away from the Serie A giants following their really slow start to the season.

Also Manchester City and Real Madrid are said to be interested in the 30-year-old, who could replace David Luiz should the Brazilian centre-back leave Chelsea in January, as several reports suggested.

Richmond Boakye has already netted 23 goals in 28 games with Red Star Belgrade and he is a possible target for Chelsea in the January transfer window as manager Antonio Conte may want a new-back up striker if the London club will sell Michy Batshuayi.

Boakye himself said he will be happy to play in the Premier League and reunite with Antonio Conte:  “Conte wanted me and bought me to Juventus from Sassuolo,” – the player explained -. “For me he represented a great coach and I’ll always thank him. I remember when I was loaned to Elche because there was no room for me, he called me to remind me that I had all the qualities. For a 19-year-old boy, it was very satisfying. If he wants me, I’m so happy to find him again.”

Serie A giants Juventus are said to be interested in Chelsea‘s David Luiz, who could leave the club in January according to the Mirror on Sunday.

It is understood Antonio Conte prefers to play Andreas Christensen (“He is the present and the future for Chelsea”) instead of the 30-year-old defender, who has recently suffered a minor knee injury and played only once since Champions League 3-0 loss against AS Roma in October.

The Bianconeri are reportedly considering to replace Benedikt Howedes, who’s struggling to get game time following two injuries since he joined the club from Schalke 04 last summer. Chelsea could reportedly ask a fee in the region of £23m for the defender. Chelsea are also heavily interested in full-back Alex Sandro.

West Ham United defender Angelo Ogbonna, who made 25 appearances at Juventus under Antonio Conte‘s management, has praised the Chelsea manager ahead of tomorrow’s London Derby.

“I have spoken a lot about him and I have a big, big, big, big respect for him, not just as a manager, but as a man, – the Italian defender said in the matchday programme – Before you become a player or a manager, you first become a man and in this job, it is so difficult to find a man like him. He gave me something important in my character”.

“Like a man, he always said the right things to me, even when I didn’t play. I have a lot of respect for him.”

Ogbonna joined the Premier League side on a permanent move from Juventus in the summer of 2015 on a £10m deal.
