Gonzalo Higuain helped Chelsea yesterday to defeat Watford and secure a place in the next Champions League.

Speaking to BBC, Blues manager Maurizio Sarri has urged the club to confirm the Argentina international, who arrived at Stamford Bridge on loan from Juventus, also next season.

If he’s staying then we can do very well in the next season” Sarri said “I don’t know about Higuain’s future, you have to ask the club. But for a striker it is not easy to play here, when you’re used to playing in Spain and Italy. It’s not easy to adapt to this competition because it’s different physically.”

Since his arrival in January, Higuain has scored 5 goals in 13 Premier League‘s appeareances.

After the signing of Gonzalo Higuain from Ac Milan few days ago, today Chelsea have announced that Spanish striker Alvaro Morata has completed his loan-move to Atletico Madrid.

After completing his medical yesterday, today Morata signed the contract with the Spanish side and now he will play for Atletico Madrid until the end of next season.

Morata started his career with the Atletico Madrid’s academy, then he joined Juventus, Real Madrid and Chelsea. The striker scored 24 goals in 72 appearances with the Blues.

Gonzalo Higuain has today joined Chelsea on loan until the end of current season, with an option to make the deal permanent or extend his loan spell at Stamford Bridge for the 2019/2020 campaign as well.

Upon completing his move to the club, the Argentine striker said: “When the opportunity to join Chelsea presented itself I had to take it. It’s a team I’ve always liked that has a lot of history, a wonderful stadium and they play in the Premier League, a league I’ve always wanted to play in.

I now hope I can give back that trust Chelsea have shown me out on the pitch. I can’t wait to start and I hope to adapt as soon as possible”.

Speaking during his press conference ahead of tomorrow’s Carabao Cup semifinal’s second leg vs TottenhamChelsea‘s manager Maurizio Sarri confirmed striker Gonzalo Higuain will sign very soon for the Blues.

Higuain is a few hours away from signing his contract at Chelsea,” Sarri said. ‘We are hoping he will start scoring straightaway for us but there is more to his game than goals. He is a very strong striker and was especially strong during my first season in Naples, he did very well and scored 36 goals in 35 games in Serie A, and 39 in total. For sure he is one of the best strikers in my career, he has the right experience to play here”.

Not only Higuain, according to Sarri, will help Chelsea with his goals, but also thanks to his winning mentality, the aspect about which the Italian manager has strongly criticised his players in the last few days.

He wants to win all the time, in any situation”. Sarri went on. “As far as failure is concerned, I wouldn’t call it that, he still scored nine goals (at AC Milan) and he found himself in a team which is not at the same level at Juventus.”

Chelsea are set to complete a move to sign Gonzalo Higuain on loan until the end of current season, according to reports in Italy.

The Juventus loanee will reportedly join the Premier League side with an option to extend the deal for another 12 months.

Higuain, who’s currently on loan with AC Milan, came off the bench in today’s defeat against Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana.

The former SSC Napoli star is expected to undergo a medical with Chelsea in the next few hours before completing his reunion with Maurizio Sarri.

Alvaro Morata is edging closer to a move to La Liga giants Atletico Madrid, while Michy Batshuayi‘s move to AS Monaco is stalling as the Belgian striker has been offered to the Rossoneri to replace Higuain.

AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso has confirmed Chelsea target Gonzalo Higuain ‘has made a decision’ and is ‘hard to persuade him’ to change his mind despite Rossoneri‘s win at Luigi Ferraris last night against Sampdoria in the TIM Cup quarter-finals.

Speaking at a press conference, he said: “I have a relationship with him that features great honesty, we say things to one another’s face. But when a player make a choice it’s hard to convince him [to stay at AC Milan]”

Gattuso added: “I still don’t understand what Higuain’s unhappy about because I see a happy lad, involved in the locker room. We’ll see what happens. If it was up to me, I’d keep him at my house and feed him my dinner.”

It is understood the Chelsea manager would be eager to reunite with the former SSC Napoli striker, who even set a new Serie A record after scoring 36 goals in the 2015/16 season under Sarri’s management.

Higuain, who’s currently on loan from Juventus with an option-to-buy, scored 7 goals from 17 games played in the current campaign so far.

According to reports from Italian Sport MediasetChelsea and Ac Milan are close to a swap deal involing Alvaro Morata and Gonzalo Higuain.

If this swap deal is finally concluded, the Spanish striker will move to the Italian side on an 18-month loan, while Higuain will become a Blues’ player on a six-month loan. Then the London club will have to reach another deal with Juventus if they want to sign Higuain on a permanent basis during next summer transfer window.

Striker Gonzalo Higuain and defender Mattia Caldara will not play for Chelsea next season: Juventus have reached an agreement with Ac Milan following which Higuain will sign with the “Rossoneri” on a season-long loan, while Caldara was included in a swap-deal with Leonardo Bonucci who will go back to Juventus after just one season.

On the other hand, according to reports by the Daily Star, Chelsea have reached a £36m deal with the same Juventus for defender Daniele Rugani.

His transfer is not yet finalised because the Italian player is doesn’t know if he wants to move or not.

Chelsea are considering to place a bid also for Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic, according to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The Bosnia-Erzegovina international, who’s been targeted also from Barcelona, has recently signed up with Macedonian agent Fali Ramadani, who was involved in Sarri’s takeover at Chelsea too.

It is understood the Premier League giants are also closing in on a move for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, while top-class striker Gonzalo Higuain could reportedly join Chelsea when Alvaro Morata‘s future is unveiled.

Roman Abramovic will do everything in his power to give Sarri the players he targeted following his appointment in order to bolster Chelsea squad, according to the Italian newspapaer.

If the final offer will be in the region of €200M, as Corriere dello Sport claimed this morning, that fee would mostly cover Juventus move for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani is set to become a Chelsea player after being offered a five-year contract worth around £80,000-per-week, London Evening Standard understands.

It is understood Maurizio Sarri is a great admirer of the 23-year-old defender, who will reportedly join Chelsea on a £44m move as Juventus raised up their asking-price for the ex-Empoli star.

However, Premium Sport journalist Paolo Bargiggia claimed last week Rugani’s deal was “virtually done” on a £35m basis.

Moreover, his agent Daniele Torchia said earlier this week a move to the Premier League giants is anything but done: “I am happy for Sarri because no one believes he could get there and instead here his is coaching Chelsea.

“Everyone thinks that [Rugani] follows him to Chelsea, but it must be considered that Juventus also did not accept any negotiations in the past, either with Napoli nor with any other teams and has always expressed the will to keep the player and today that has not changed.

“To date, that will has not changed and Rugani himself has not expressed a willingness to go elsewhere. However, it must also be said that if there is a request it will be heard because in football, respect is needed.”
