Of course I would go back to Madrid after I win everything with Chelsea. It’s hard to say no to Real Madrid for every player you ask around the world,” – Morata told Cadena Ser.

Italian football legend Andrea Pirlo, who this morning announced he will retire from football when his New York City contract expires in December, learnt a lot under current Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, who worked with him at Juventus and the Italian national team.

“One of his 20-minute video sessions is worth three days on the training ground”

“You immediately understand what it is you have to do.”

Speaking about Conte’s first season at Juventus, who ended with a title for the Bianconeri after ten years, Pirlo said:

Former Juventus director Luciano Moggi – the man behind the big Italian football scandal Calciopoli, who was even banned to work in the football business for the rest of his life – claims Chelsea boss Antonio Conte would be perfect to replace Vincenzo Montella at AC Milan.

The Rossoneri have endured a poor start to the domestic campaign with three defeats in the first seven league game, they are currently sitting 7th in the Serie A table despite investing almost £ 200m in last summer transfer market.

Conte has been linked with a return to Italy despite winning the Premier League title in his first season with Chelsea and Moggi has backed the ex-Juve boss to be the perfect fit for the role at Milan:

Conte wants to return to Italy and Milan can be the ideal club for him,” Moggi told Tuttojuve.com

“If he were to win something with Chelsea this season too, his departure could well be possible.”

Chelsea former player Claude Makelele believes Spanish striker Alvaro Morata, who the London club signed from Real Madrid last summer, can have a long and brilliant career at Stamford Bridge.

He’s a good player, strong player, competitor and international,” – Makelele told Sky Sports. – “This is the top level. He was at the best team in the world Real Madrid, he scored goals there.  He’s gone to Juventus, he scored goals there. Of course he will score goals at Chelsea. It’s tough in the Premier League, very tough. I think he understands the Premier League. He understands also where he’s going to play, you want to give him more balls, Hazard has come back. I think he’s going to be happy at Chelsea, sure.”

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte admitted his team will struggle to retain the Premier League title this year.

Having fell down to 4th position in the table with 13 points,  behind leading duo Manchester City and Manchester United after Saturday’s defeat against Pep Guardiola‘s side, the Italian manager claimed he had an easier job when managing Juventus to hold the title in Serie A:

“It is very difficult for every team in this league. To defend, it is very difficult to win two titles in a row.

”We won the title with Juventus and I was expecting a really strong challenge from AC Milan, but instead they sold Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to Paris St Germain, so they became weaker. It wasn’t simple second time, but it was easier.

“Here, from last season to this season, you have big teams and now they are bigger… And now after I think a great transfer market, they have improved a lot. It’s not simple to play this league.”

New Chelsea signing Alvaro Morata reveals the real reason he signed for the Blues and it’s all about the boss, Antonio Conte:

“Yes. I had various offers this summer, not only Chelsea and Manchester United but also from different leagues,” the Spanish striker told the Daily Mail.

“It was a good situation for me. The most important and best conversation I had was with Conte, he wanted me to come here. At the start of the summer, I didn’t know that Chelsea were interested in me. I thought they were in for a different player.”

“But I spoke with Conte several times and not only this summer. I felt in debt to him. He signed me for Juventus but left very quickly to manage Italy. I always wanted to play for him after that. It was only two months with him but it felt like I’d known him forever. When I knew he wanted me this summer, I didn’t think twice. I did everything I could to make the move happen.”

The Spain international returned to Real Madrid in summer 2016 after spending two years at Juventus but he already knew that his time at the club where he grew up as a players wouldn’t be so long:

“Last summer it was close. Cesar Azpilicueta was a bit annoyed because he had already started house-hunting for me last summer. We’d even got estate agents on board. This time Cesar has sorted everything!”

“When I spoke to Conte last summer, I said “If I’m going to leave Real Madrid, it will only be for Chelsea”. I remember I was with my wife after hearing him out conversation and I said “Chelsea are going to win the league this season.” And that’s exactly what happened. Now we need to repeat it!”
