Chelsea star Eden Hazard ruled out a move to PSG claiming he has no intention to play in League 1 at the moment:

“There are some big clubs, and it was an attractive league even when I played in it six years ago,” Hazard told SFR Sport on the progress being made in French football.

“Big stars want to play in Ligue 1, and that is a good thing.  But if I am to return it will be to play for Lille,  they are my club.

“I still have a career to carve out, with a number of seasons ahead of me.”

Nicolas Plestan, a former Hazard team-mate at Lille, told French TV he gave the Belgian star a slap during a training session.

“Eden Hazard was training with both our senior squad and the Under-21s,” Plestan said – “He used to criticise us when he dropped down into the junior side. One morning he turned up and shook my hand. I told him: ‘Why are you shaking my hand when you slag me off behind my back?’ He just sucked his teeth by way of reply, so I gave him a slap. I am not proud of it, but I don’t regret doing it. It is part of dressing-room life, and there was a lack of dressing-room spirit on his part”.

Southampton manager Claude Puel is not surprised Eden Hazard has become one of the best players in the world: the French coach was managing Lille when the Belgian star was starting his career and he is pleased he reached top levels now.

Speaking about tonight’s defeat at Stamford Bridge, he said:

“We played against a good team.

Eden Hazard and Diego Costa made the difference today.

“I had the privilege to start Hazard at Lille. He has the same quality. He’s a fantastic player. At 16, he was the same.”

Southampton played a good first half but were not able to capitalise the chances they created:

“Chelsea were more clinical than us,” Puel admitted.

“We worked hard to get back into the game and the timing of the second goal was bad for us. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be.

“They are top of the league for a reason. We want more than just getting 40 points. We don’t want our season to fizzle out.”

However, Southampton have seemingly taken the lead in the race to sign him after tabling a bid of £25m.

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard is in doubt for Belgium to play in Lille on Friday in the Euro 2016 quarter final clash against Wales.

Hazard was a big part of the Belgium side that eased past Hungary with an emphatic 4-0 victory. He managed to get himself a goal and also assisted in one. He was by far man-of-the-match. Unfortunately, he picked up a thigh injury during the game and has been unable to train since.

Belgium manager Marc Wilmots told reporters that he is unsure as to whether the 25-year-old will be fit for the important game but insists that they are doing everything they can to get him ready.

“We are working on getting him 100% fit.

“I cannot give you a specific time when that will happen, nor can I tell you that he will be OK.”

Last night Eden Hazard was back to his very best in the game he played for Belgium against Hungary in the last 16 of Euro 2016.

He assisted a goal and even bagged one for himself in the 4-0 thrashing that took them through to the quarter finals of the competition where they will face Wales in Lille on Friday.

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard is very exciting at the prospect of playing in Lille, a city where he spent much of his time when playing for the club.

“We are lucky enough to play in Lille, I know the city very well. I am very proud. I was really motivated to go through, it will be a great celebration on Friday and I hope there will be plenty of fans there to take part.”

However, Hazard doesn’t want to get too carried away, he claims that they are taking each game as it comes and says they have’t achieved anything yet.

“For the time being we have achieved nothing, we are just in the quarters and we will take it one game at a time.

“As a team I feel we were really solid today. We made a lot of chances, and didn’t give them too many.”

Chelsea have targeted Lille winger Sofiane Boufal, who is ready to leave the Ligue 1 side this summer, according to reports in France.

His representatives have already entered talks with Barcelona, but incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is also said to be keen on signing the the 22-year-old.

Also Atletico Madrid and Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for the youngster

His agent Yvan Le Mée told Le 10 Sport: “We did have a meeting with the leadership of Barcelona in the last few weeks. There is interest,”

“Now the reflection is whether Sofiane Boufal will go to Barcelona to compete with MSN or should he go to a club where is going to start matches and express his exceptional talent.”

“We have also initiated discussions with three other clubs that interest us, but they either have or will change their coach or the coach is in charge of the national team at the Euros.”

“In England, there is interest, but the English market is just beginning. A transfer of €20million and €25m is not resolved in two weeks of course.”

West Ham‘s star man Dimitri Payet told the clubs official website that he has been influenced by the players around him throughout his career.

Payet spent some time with Chelsea‘s Eden Hazard at Lille in the 2011/12 season before the Belgian international winger moved to Stamford Bridge.

“I have been helped by the top players at all the clubs I have played for.

“When you are playing with such good players it does make things easier but I also feel that you can learn new things at all ages and at all times from the younger and older players.

“That is what football is all about — getting the best out of everyone and working hard.”

Payet also claims that his good form this year is due to his maturity at the age of 29-years-old.

“My maturity has helped me see things differently at the age of 29 and this has been the best season of my career so far.”

Chelsea ace Eden Hazard gave an interview in which he described his path from childhood fascination with football to the current professional game at the Blues.

Hazard gave an interview to Chelsea official website to speak about this :

What age were you when you first started playing?

I was around four. I started playing at home, in the garden, and I tried to learn some skills from watching videos at a very early age.

At what age did you master keepy-uppies?

I was probably six or seven when I first started trying to do them but obviously at first, and when you are young, it’s difficult. I started trying to do them with one bounce in between each volley and I managed to do quite a lot, and then I gradually managed to build it up, so that was a good way to learn.

When did you start playing matches?

When I was five I played for a team in my village and that was my first team. My godfather was the manager and I joined them but I was the youngest player in the whole team.

What particular skill did you work on most as a kid?

The nutmeg, which is known as panna in French, and also another skill which Zidane used to do when he would spin on the ball. I still like the nutmeg, Oscar did three at Tottenham on Sunday, it’s a good skill to use.

Outside Chelsea, who are the most skilful players you have played with or against?

I played with Gervinho at Lille, he had a lot of skill and he was very quick as well. In the national team we have a lot of them: Yannick Carrasco, a young player at Atletico Madrid, Dries Mertens, Kevin De Bruyne, Kevin Mirallas, they are all very good and like to show their skills in matches.

What is the best piece of skill you’ve ever seen during a match?

It was by Robinho for Brazil against Italy, I think it was in a friendly and the ball came to him on the touchline and he did some step-overs and sent the defenders the wrong way. Another Robinho one was when he looked like he was going to cross the ball from out wide and then scored with a shot. I can’t remember who it was against but it was fantastic.

What’s the best piece of skill you’ve produced in a game?

When I was in France playing for Lille against Monaco, I was on the wing and beat a few defenders with some skills. Against Southampton at home last season I did two nutmegs. In my first season against West Ham I scored a good goal and in the same game there was another piece of skill I did. I try to do something in every match. Also at Lille I scored a left-footed goal from about 35 yards against Marseille (below).

How does it feel when something you’ve worked on in training comes off in a game?

Training is completely different to a match because you can try something and if it doesn’t work there is no problem, but when you practice something in training and then it works in a game it’s a sensational feeling. You know that you’ve worked hard on the training pitch and it’s paid off.
