Thibaut Courtois has confirmed the uncertainty over his future at Chelsea won’t divert his attention as he’s focused only on representing Belgium National Team at the World Cup in Russia.

The goalkeeper, when asked whether he will stay at Stamford Bridge next season amid speculations over a potential exit to join Liverpool, told SkySports: “I think I proved at Chelsea the last two months that I don’t care about speculation,”

Courtois added: “I said what had to be said on that terms. I’m now focused on the World Cup. I think my performances proved that.”

It is understood Real Madrid are also adamant that Thibaut Courtois will consider a move to Spain following his successful spell at Atletico Madrid as Chelsea loanee.

Chelsea have made an offer of €60m for Roma goalkeeper Alisson, reports from Italy claim.

The Brazil international, who is expected to be his country’s number one at this summer’s World Cup, has seen his stock rise dramatically after an impressive season with Eusebio Di Francesco side.

He has been heavily linked with Real Madrid and Liverpool in recent times, with both of the Champions League finalists thought to be in the market for new goalkeepers.

However, according to Pagine Romaniste, it is the Reds’ English Premier League rivals Chelsea who have made the first official offer for the 25-year-old.

It is thought that the Blues have made a €60m ( £ 50m) bid for the player, while they would offer Alisson wages of €4.5m a season.

According to the report, though, it is highly unlikely that sporting director Monchi will accept the offer.

Instead, Roma will wait until after the World Cup before considering doing business – by which time Alisson’s performances at the tournament will hopefully have increased his value still further.

While Antonio Conte keeps saying he is focused on his present and the Fa Cup final, pundit Jamie Redknapp believes the Italian manager won’t be at Stamford Bridge at the beginning of next season.

For Conte, I’d be amazed if we see him on the touchline at Chelsea from next season”. Redknapp said. “I think he looks like he wants to get away now.”

The former Liverpool player claims today, during the game vs Newcastle, Conte himself sent clear “signals” he doesn’t want to be Chelsea manager anymore: “Normally you see him on the touchline leading from the front,” Redknapp explained. “He’s the one that signals all the pressing actions you want to get from a manager. But you can see now, even he looks like a beaten man. It certainly doesn’t mean he’s a bad manager if it doesn’t work out here because managers seem to have one or two years, they come in, instant impact then they go. Someone else comes along, they get success – that’s Chelsea’s model if you like. It works for them, it won’t work for others”.

Chelsea fail to get a vital win at Stamford Bridge as Huddersfield produced a brilliant defensive display following Depoitre’s controversial opener in the 56th minute. The Belgian striker ran towards the penalty area, with Caballero off the line, and the two collided. Antonio Rudiger and Alvaro Morata had two huge chances missed previously in the first half.

Just an incredible defensive clearance which hit Marcos Alonso‘s face secured Chelsea a very bizarre equalizer. The Blues pushed for a further reaction, but the visitors’ defense has been able to resist until the final whistle.

If Spurs are mathematically qualified for next Champions League’s group stages (thanks to their home win over Newcastle United), Chelsea will need a win against the Magpies at St.James’ Park next week to keep the hope alive. On the other hand, if Liverpool get at least one point against Brighton at Anfield on Sunday, this would mean that Antonio Conte’s men will play in the Europa League next season.

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas spoke about the race to finish in the Premier League‘s top four and gain a place in the next Champions League:

What has changed is that we’ve won the last four games we played, they’ve been dropping points and it’s got to a point where now we are close to them”. Fabregas said. “The bad thing about all of this is that it’s not up to us. What’s up to us is winning the last two games, putting pressure on Liverpool and Spurs and seeing what happens”.

Pochettino‘s side and the Reds, as Fabregas said have dropped points recently and the Blues midfielder hopes this will happen again tonight and on Sunday: “We’ll be watching closely to see what they can do and if they drop points that’s fantastic because the target is winning titles, of course, but for clubs like Chelsea it’s also being in the top four and doing well in the Premier League”. Fabregas went on. “To always be in the Champions League is very important”.

Chelsea are still chasing a place in the next Champions League: the Blues have to defeat Huddersfield Town and Newcastle and hope Liverpool or Tottenham will drop points.

It won’t be easy, but Marcos Alonso claimed Antonio Conte‘s side must do what they can to reach their goal and win both their games.

We have to do our part and win both games and see what happens, but we have to have faith until the end and win our two games,” Alonso told Chelsea official website. “It’s not on us. We have to do our part and win the two games we have left and wait for one of the other teams to lose one game and get there.”

During his press conference ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League game vs Huddersfield, the Blues manager Antonio Conte said they want to keep alive their winning streak and put pressure on Tottenham and Liverpool, but he is aware destiny is in the Reds’ and Spurs’ hands.

To put pressure we have to get three points every game. We got three points at Southampton, Burnley and Swansea, then against Liverpool. Conte said. “For sure the situation is not in our hands and if they beat Brighton they can reach the CL and it is the same for Spurs. They have two games at home and it will be enough to draw and win one game”.

This is the reason why Conte said also it’s better to stay ahead of the opponents, especially before the last games of the season: “I prefer to stay ahead and the other teams to have to put pressure like last season. Chelsea manager explained. “In the last 12 games Tottenham won ten games to put pressure on but we were able to keep ahead. It is easier to stay ahead of the other teams because the situation is in your hands”.

Chelsea are getting good results now, but they had some problems before and they dropped many points; Antonio Conte knows it very well, but he believes it’s not good to think about it now: “For sure there is a bit of disappointment because we dropped many points in a stupid way where we didn’t need to and created many chances but weren’t able to score. At the end the result was bad for us”. Conte said. “Now there is not time to regret. We have to play two games and then the FA Cup final and then at the end of the season we will see”.

French striker Olivier Giroud scored yesterday the winning goal vs Liverpool and kept alive Blues’ hopes to get a place in the top-four of the Premier League table.

Giroud himself described the action which led to the goal: “I know Vic [Victor Moses] and when he doesn’t cross the ball as his first intention, he goes on his left foot and still tries to cross it and tries to pass the first defender, and he has done it very well.  Giroud said. There was a small deflection and I have to be in front at the first post, and it was a great cross and I have just finished it.”

“It is not in our hands,” said Eden Hazard when asked if Chelsea are still in the race for the 4th spot in the league table. Tottenham remain 2 points above the Blues despite losing at the Hawthorns with a late goal from Jack Livermore last time out.

“It does not only depend on us but we will play, we will hopefully win and then we will see the results of Tottenham and Liverpool and we will give everything”.

“Beating Liverpool is a massive result. Now the target is just to win and be in the top four at the end of the season, and if we play like this the last three games, we can have something special at the end of the season. Let’s hope for something big. We all work together and when we play this kind of game, it is a good feeling after the game”.
