Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma doesn’t give up on his career at Stamford Bridge: the French central back moved on loan to Everton last month, a year after signing a new six-year deal with Chelsea.

“I will go back, yes,” Zouma told British media.

“I have always believed in myself since I started playing football at 16. I have always wanted to show myself at Chelsea since I have been there.”

Zouma, who spent last season at Stoke City, said new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri agreed to the temporary switch only because there had been a surplus of centre-back options at Stamford Bridge.

“I knew I needed to play regularly so I didn’t want to stay on the bench and wait for my chance after two or three months,” he added.

He (Sarri) agreed with me. I spoke with him and I knew at Chelsea they had five central defenders already.”

Zouma still have to find his best form after recovering from an ACL injury that occurred more than two years ago and last season played on loan at Stoke City:

“I have come here to play and I want to take the opportunity the manager has given me,” Zouma said.

“We played well in the three games, especially with the away games with 10 men. The spirit is good. With the players we have, we can do something.”

Mateo Kovacic hopes that he will be able to kick on at Chelsea following his season-long loan move from Real Madrid

The Croatia international moved to Stamford Bridge in this summer transfer window thanks to the deal that brought  Thibaut Courtois to Santiago Bernabéu for around £35million.

Kovacic did not feature regularly with the European champions as they have the likes of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro starting ahead of him: this caused frustration and disillusion to him.

The former Inter player impressed in his debut against Arsenal and hopes to have gained the trust of Blues boss Maurizio Sarri:

“It was important that after three years of inconsistency in playing time in Madrid I’ve got into a team that wants me and a coach who wants and trusts me. That’s how Chelsea happened,” Kovacic told sports channel Sport Klub.

“That’s what I really need now and I want to keep it that way,” he stressed.

“He’s known me for a long time and that’s what matters in my opinion. The squad is phenomenal with many great players,  that is why is wasn’t so hard to adapt quickly.

“The tempo is higher and there is more space, but it is not hard to adapt when you are surrounded by great players.”

Crystal Palace hope to sign Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan again next season.

Palace believe the Blues could allow the England international, who made his first World Cup start for the Three Lions in Sunday’s 6-1 win against Panama, to go out on loan for another year.

Loftus-Cheek played a key role in helping the Eagles avoid relegation last season and has made it clear he wants regular football next term.

Palace want the 22-year-old back but are likely to face competition after his impressive performances for England, with Everton and Newcastle interested.
But Loftus-Cheek enjoyed his time at Palace and they hope that will put them at the front of the queue to sign him.
However the midfielder, who grew-up as a footballer in Chelsea academy and made his first team debut under José Mourinho three years ago, said he will decide his future once his experience in the World Cup is over.

After a difficult first part of the season at Chelsea, Michy Batshuayi‘s performances were impressive during his loan at Borussia Dortmund.

The striker scored 10 goals and now he wants to earn a place in Belgium‘s squad before making his choice for next season between the two clubs:

I don’t have a preference; they’re two beautiful clubs. My focus is on the World Cup right now and I don’t want to think about what happens afterwards.” Batshuayi said.

What is for sure is that the Belgian striker during his loan in Bundesliga regained confidence in his skills:

Dortmund was a great experience for me,” Batshuayi explained. “They welcomed me very warmly. I was in a good environment and you could see that on the pitch. It was a while since I had played so much. I can’t remember being allowed to play two games in a row at Chelsea. It was good to gain confidence”.

PSV Eindhoven sporting director Marcel Brands has insisted that the club will keep trying to sign Chelsea loanee Marco van Ginkel on a permanent deal next summer.

The Dutch midfielder joined Chelsea from Vitesse in 2013 and has only made four senior appearances for his parent club to date and has spent most of time on loan spells at different clubs ( AC Milan, Stoke City and PSV)  besides recovering from a serious knee injury.

The PSV deal-maker was quoted as saying by the Algemeen Dagblad:

“Even if we have a one per cent change, we’ll keep trying.

“Marco is of enormous importance to us, just like a number of other players.”

Van Ginkel is believed to be in favour of staying to PSV next season, but knows his future lies in Chelsea’s hands.

Chelsea loanee and Fulham star Lucas Piazon has confirmed a potential comeback to Stamford Bridge next season, “as I have been doing for the last few years” after joining the current Premier League champions in 2011.

The 24-year-old, who suffered a serious injury earlier during the season, told ESPN Brazil: “To speak of next season, I think it’s still a little early. We are in the middle of March, there is still much to happen,”

“Usually what happens is that I end up going back to Chelsea, in July I’ll present myself there, and then we’ll see. We see what is best, as I have been doing for the last few years. I think that’s the way it’s better, you have more time to figure it out, look for a nice place to go”.

Piazon, who spent several seasons on loan at Malaga, Vitesse Arnhem, Reading and Eintracht Frankfurt, added:“I don’t know, maybe I stay here at Fulham.”

Michy Batshuayi admits he was lacking confidence at Chelsea while now, at Borussia Dortmund, he plays full of it.

The Belgian striker arrived to Stamford Bridge in summer 2016 and despite playing an important role in last title campaign never had full trust by manager Antonio Conte, who rarely started him in the 18 months he coached him.

However, Batshuayi has been showing all his qualities since he moved on loan to Borussia Dortmund, where he has already scored 5 goals in only 3 games.

The 24-year-old forward took a swipe to his former boss, Conte, claiming he just needed more playing time:

“I don’t know if Conte was watching my game,” said Batshuayi.

“Sitting on the bench, score a goal and then back to the bench is quite difficult to deal with for an attacker.

“It wasn’t always easy at Chelsea. I’m now playing with a lot of confidence.

“They are focusing on the Premier League and have an important Champions League tie next week. I hope it turns out well for them.”

During today’s press conference to preview the game against West Bromwich Albion Antonio Conte was asked if he regretted letting Michy Batshuayi go on loan to Borussia Dortmund in light of the revelation that Alvaro Morata’s back injury could be a long-term one.

The Italian boss took a moment to compose himself before sinking his face into his despairing hands then replied:

“Now the transfer market has finished,” said Conte, upon regaining his composure

“We took the decision and now this is not important to say, we could do this or the other. Now we have to finish the season in the best possible way.”

Chelsea full-back Baba Rahman has returned to Schalke 04 on loan after recovering from a knee injury.

An official statement on the Blues website read:

Baba Rahman has today joined Schalke on loan until the end of the 2018/19 season.

The Ghanaian defender, 23, re-joins the Bundesliga side, where he spent the first half of last season before sustaining a knee injury during the Africa Cup of Nations.

Baba signed for Chelsea from another German side, Augsburg, in the summer of 2015 and made 23 appearances during his maiden season at Stamford Bridge.

Schalke are currently third in the Bundesliga.

The Ghana international made 21 appearances on loan at Schalke in the 2016-17 season before his campaign was cut short by a cruciate ligament injury while in action for his country at the African Nations Cup last January.
