Andreas Christensen played yesterday in Chelsea‘s defeat at Wembley vs Tottenham in the Carabao Cup semifinal’s first leg.

The Danish defender however, believes the Blues deserved a better result:

It was a tough result,” Christensen told Chelsea Tv. “I felt as though, especially in the second half, we had a good spell in the game. We played good and had chances, and we probably feel as though we should have at least got a draw from it.”

The 1-0 loss is a bad result, but not too bad as Chelsea can play the second leg at Stamford Bridge and have many chances to advance to the Carabao Cup final.  “After we went 1-0 down it was good that we didn’t just think it was over, we kept going and we knew we just had to stay in the game because it’s over two legs,” Christensen added. “We’re still in it and we think we can decide the game at home.”

Chelsea‘s run for a place in the next UEFA Champions League group stages gets harder as the current Premier League champions conceded the 9th defeat of season today.

And Tottenham had not won a single away game at Stamford Bridge since 1990, when Gary Lineker’s late goal secured a 1-2 win against the Blues, newly-promoted Chelsea (they finished the campaign in 5th position).

London rivals Tottenham Hotspur were brilliant and dominant in completing a massive comeback after Alvaro Morata‘s opener in the 30th minute and Chelsea remain 5th on the league table with 56 points, 8 behind the Spurs.

Some reports also suggested Antonio Conte could be on the brink following the poor performances and results with Chelsea. However, we’ll be hearing from the boss very soon.

After the two consecutive Premier League losses with Bournemouth and Watford,  Cesar Azpilicueta claims all the players are working hard for Chelsea and the Blues manager Antonio Conte as they are the first to be disappointed by this bad moment.

“We are here altogether. We are all disappointed with the results,” Azpilicueta said after the Watford defeat. “We know that there is speculation here all the time – it has been that way in the six years I have been here. Are the players letting the coach down? No. I think if you see the training sessions, we all fight hard. We are the first to be disappointed with the way the last two games went. We are getting penalised in the bad moments we are having in the game. It’s not a long period, but in this league, which is so tough, you get punished as soon as you drop a bit.”

Alvaro Morata will miss Everton clash after being booked in the celebration of his winner against Bournemouth the other night.

The Italian tactician showed a clear disappointment for missing the Spanish striker in tomorrow afternoon match against the Toffees:

“It is a big loss of us, but it happened and it is okay. At that moment we were enjoying the goal and I did not see the situation but I knew he tried to celebrate the goal with the ball under the shirt. It is a pity but we have to accept the decision and at the same time try in the future to pay great attention [to this].

“It is very important to see what happened because if the ref only booked him because he put the ball under his shirt, it is a pity and you can allow this celebration as you are showing your joy, but if something different happened after this then the ref judged it in a different way,” Conte concluded.

Crystal Palace have now won four games in a row after beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in a sensational game. The Blues are now 7 points clear at the top of Premier League table with another tough game against Manchester City this week.

Antonio Conte‘s side tried to find the equalizer in the second half but chances were denied by Palace goalkeeper Henessey. Willian, Batshuayi and Loftus-Cheek came off the bench to bounce back following Zaha and Benteke‘s goals in a couple of minutes during first half.

Everything seemed to go into the right path after four minutes, with Cesc Fabregas netting the ball with a touch in front of the goal after a super play by Eden Hazard on the left, but Crystal Palace showed an outstanding performance in defense.

Tottenham close gap on Chelsea after beating Burnley at the Turf Moor, while Manchester City will face Arsenal tomorrow.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte wanted to show his disappointment following the 3-0 loss to Arsenal this evening.

The Italian manager told BT Sport: “I think that we didn’t have the right attitude from the first minute,”

“After today we are thinking we must work a lot because we are a great team only on paper.”

Speaking about Gary Cahill‘s mistake, Conte added: “It is always a team problem rather than individuals, When nothing works it is very hard for a player to play well”

“I don’t want to talk about his mistake. It is not right for him. We win and lose as a team. If someone thinks this team is ready to fight, I think we must wait to improve a lot to come back a great team on the pitch, not just on paper.”

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed, that he is deeply hurt with the FA’s decision to ban Diego Costa for three matches after the Spaniard has been found guilty of violent conduct. The Special One has admitted also , that the Blues might not be able to cope with the loss.

The Portuguese manager does not hide that he is very disappointed with the FA’s decision regarding his striker. Especially after finding out that the FA rescinded Gabriel’s red card. What is more, the Special One has said, that in his opinion the club might not be able to cope with the loss of Costa.

Mourinho said:

“Every time you lose a player it’s not good for the team and easier to accept an injury. An injury is part of the game and we have to be mentally ready,”

“But this kind of situation goes much, much, much, much more deeply and the team is hurting, obviously. I don’t know if the squad can cope without Costa”

“The team has lost an important player for three matches and don’t need to lose their manager. So I prefer to keep calm and quiet.”

“If I bring examples and go deep and bring feelings into the discussion a big suspension will be waiting and I don’t want that. The team doesn’t need that.”

The Spaniard will miss Premier League clashes against Newcastle and Southampton.
