After his fantastic performance against Newcastle this afternoon, where he didn’t only score a brace but he was man of the match hands down, Eden Hazard was praised by his coach, Antonio Conte, that had very nice words for his team star:

“Eden played a good game. Today we saw a good link between him and Alvaro,” the Blues boss commented on Sky Sports after the final whistle.

“In this type of game, when we decided to have a tactical solution, he had more freedom to play as striker and then offensively he was very dangerous. He played very well, scored twice, and the goalkeeper made two fantastic saves from him. He must continue in this way to improve himself.”

Continuing to speak about the game, Conte added:

“It was a good performance. Maybe our start was a bit a slow, not good enough. But after we went 1-0 down we played with good intensity and created chances to score. In the end it was a good performance. This team has a lot of professionals, when our start is not good enough there is always a good reaction, like against Liverpool. This team I strong for sure, we are in good form, good physical condition and strong tactically in defence and attack. We are working well and we have to continue in this way.”

New Blues striker Alvaro Morata showed he improved his playing style in a new team and new type of football as Chelsea and Premier League.

The hero of the win over Everton, however, claimed he needs more time to adapt better and fully show his enormous potential:

“I’m happy because I scored, I took an assist and the team won,” the Spaniard said after scoring a goal and giving an assist against Toffees.

“It was an important win. At Stamford Bridge we need to win all the games or try to take the three points.

“It’s important for me to play and to make adaptations to my game. It’s not easy: a new country, another language, another style of football. I need time for all the things in the Premier League but I’m okay, my teammates give me a hand to make it easy and I’m very happy to be here.”

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard praised Blues star Eden Hazard, who was the protagonist of the crucial win over Bournemouth yesterday and he’s becoming, game after game, a true leader for Conte’s side:

“For me, there’s a new maturity about him,” the former English midfielder told Goals on Sunday.

“It’s not just on the pitch, but off the pitch. He’s doing more interviews, he’s speaking English, and those things important when you become a player of his level.

“I think last year, and I am huge Eden Hazard fan, there were times when he was so confident in his ability that he would beat someone twice in midfield, he’d beat them and then beat them again.

“Now, there is a real directness to his play. He’s more efficient and getting into areas to score goals.”

Man of the match Eden Hazard commented the 3-1 win over Bournemouth, a message Chelsea sent to Spurs, who won 4-0 over Watford in the early afternoon:

We passed a test,” Hazard told BT Sport.

We knew the result of Tottenham before the game and today we deserved to win.

“It’s more easy to control the game when you score first but at the end of the first half we were a little bit down.

“But in the second half we did well to control the game.

“We have to believe in everything. Now is one step closer to the title and we have seven games left.”

Chelsea are now seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table with seven games remaining.

Ex-Newcastle striker Alan Shearer believes that Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante was the man of the match at Stamford Bridge against Manchester United last night.

“The man of the match was undoubtedly Kante, – Shearer told BBC Sport after the game. – The way he retrieved the ball… He made such a big difference tonight.”

“I think you’re looking at the Football Writers’ player of the year and the PFA player of the year. He has stood out above everyone else”.

Then Shearer added: “We’re not used to him scoring too many goals but he was absolutely superb tonight. He was all over the park as usual.”

Antonio Conte proved himself right, starting Cesc Fabregas against Swansea this afternoon: the Spaniard re-paid his trust with an impressive performance and the cherry on top was his opener, that helped the Blues to get another win in this crucial moment of the title race:

“After one week of work, I try every game to take the best decision for the team and the opponent that we face,” Conte said about his decision.

“I know I can count on these players and for me, every game I have to take the best decision.”

Cesc Fabregas was finally a starter today and the Spaniard fulfilled all the expectations, being the man of the match.

The ex Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder was crucial with his lofted pass in the build-up to Chelsea’s first goal, that was scored by Pedro halfway through the second part of the game at Wolves:

“That first 15-20 minutes they were on top of us,” Fabregas said after the game.

“It’s not easy to come to these places. We knew that we had to be at our best and I think it was a professional performance.

“I want to play, obviously I want to play. But we want to win. There is a great group and a great togetherness.”

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is happy for the performance Eden Hazard showed in today’s win against Burnley.

The Belgium international scored the opener with a great counter-attack, cutting inside one defender and beating Burnley’s Heaton from outside the box.

Chelsea manager is “pleased to see the team playing very well” and, when asked about the Belgium international’s performance, he claimed: “Eden Hazard must be this decisive in every game, and I am pleased because I saw it today, but we must work to improve more”.

Eden is a fantastic player, he is working very well with a great attitude. After the first day I saw this – his will to work very well, to find a good shape very soon. I also can say Eden’s performance can improve, but I’m pleased with his work-rate and commitment”.

“‘I’m pleased for him but also for Willian, Pedro, Moses, also Cuadrado. These are players with great talent, fantastic one-v-one. When you have these players it’s good for me to exact this talent. We are working on this aspect, to put the players in the best condition to exact this talent”.

“The other players have the right attitude too and this is important news for me.”

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard is in doubt for Belgium to play in Lille on Friday in the Euro 2016 quarter final clash against Wales.

Hazard was a big part of the Belgium side that eased past Hungary with an emphatic 4-0 victory. He managed to get himself a goal and also assisted in one. He was by far man-of-the-match. Unfortunately, he picked up a thigh injury during the game and has been unable to train since.

Belgium manager Marc Wilmots told reporters that he is unsure as to whether the 25-year-old will be fit for the important game but insists that they are doing everything they can to get him ready.

“We are working on getting him 100% fit.

“I cannot give you a specific time when that will happen, nor can I tell you that he will be OK.”

Unstoppable: that’s what Eden Hazard was tonight in Belgium victory over Hungary at EURO 2016 round of 16.

The Belgian Red Devils trashed the Magyars 4-0 and the Chelsea number 10 was, without any doubt, the man of the match.

He was back to the levels we were used to admire him in the past season, when his contribution was vital for the Blues to win the Premier League title, and provided the assist with a wonderful cross for the goal of Michy Batshuay in the 2-0 ( 78′), right before scoring the third with a wonderful shot of his from the box limit (80′).

Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld scored the 1-0 goal with a header at 10′ while Atletico Madrid midfielder Ferreira-Carrasco sealed the 4-0 at 91′.

Also the other Chelsea Belgian man, Thibaut Courtois, started the game but it was a quiet night for him.

Belgium will face Wales next Friday 1 July in the quarter finals.

Chelsea head-coach Maurizio Sarri had his say following his side's 2-2 draw against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. The Italian boss told SkySports: "I only saw the match...
