Speaking during his press conference before Premier League‘s game vs LiverpoolChelsea manager Antonio Conte suggested he still has to decide wheter some players will be in the Starting XI or not.

In particular, the Blues coach is doubtful about Alvaro Morata: “We have to make the best decision game-by-game, to find the best solutions for the team and to give the right rest to my players,” – Conte said. – “Last time, Morata played three games in a row and, after 20 minutes against Manchester City, he was injured. I have to pay attention in all situations. Sometimes I take a risk but it’s my job and I like to do this.”

LONDON, ENGLAND - SEPTEMBER 30: Gary Cahill of Chelsea and David Silva of Manchester City battle for possession during the Premier League match between Chelsea and Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on September 30, 2017 in London, England.

Gary Cahill warns Manchester City: despite the Citizens leading the Premier League table with 34 points in 12 games, 8 more than Manchester United and 9 more than Chelsea, the Blues captain believes that Pep Guardiola’s side still have a long way to go before securing the title:

“They’ve started off full steam ahead and that’s great for them, but we’re not even at Christmas yet, so let’s just hold fire and see how they get on,” the centre-back told Chelsea’s website.

“They look fantastic at the moment and we have taken a fair bit of criticism at times this season, but we’ve had three clean sheets on the bounce in the league now, it was a great performance and we’ve got a long way still to go.”

Speaking about yesterday’s win at West Brom Cahill said:

“I have to admit it was a superb performance from us, from every single player, and collectively we are very happy,” the 31-year-old said. “I felt we played some good football, we kept the ball when we needed to and we scored goals. We saw a bit of everything from us, so performance-wise it was very, very good.

“We were away from home so we expected to be under a bit of pressure, especially early on, and they did come out of the traps pretty quick. We had five or 10 minutes where we had to get hold of the game, but I thought we dealt with that very quickly and once we had control of the game, we went from strength to strength.

“I’m sure they found it very difficult to play against us, we always seemed to have an option to get out of trouble and there was a lot of composure on the ball, which allowed us to keep it for long periods.

“So it was a great team performance, one we have kind of been waiting for, and the scoreline we have been kind of waiting for, so we’re delighted.”

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte spoke following his side’s rampant victory over West Bromwich Albion today: “In every game you have to play with focus and concentration or you risk dropping points. – he said – Four wins in a row is good for our confidence, we started the season with many problems but we are slowly starting to find the right solution. I’m very happy with the commitment of my players”.

Last season the Blues produced a 13-game winning streak: “I hope to go on another long winning run,  – Conte added – I hope so because last season we won 13 games in a row and in this league it’s not simple to have this type of run”.

Anyway, the Italian manager admits Manchester City have a clear edge with nine-point lead: “It doesn’t depend on us because Man City are playing very well and having fantastic results. We have to continue in this way and show this solidity and create many chances to score”.

“It was another clean sheet for us and it’s important to find the right balance when you have the ball and when you are without it. Slowly we are changing something from last season.”

MANCHESTER, ENGLAND - DECEMBER 03: Antonio Conte, Manager of Chelsea appeals during the Premier League match between Manchester City and Chelsea at Etihad Stadium on December 3, 2016 in Manchester, England.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is afraid Manchester City could be unstoppable in this Premier League title race:

“I must be honest, now they are playing very well and it is very difficult to think that you can catch them,” said the Italian coach about Pep Guardiola‘s side.

“If they continue in this way it will be very difficult for every team to fight for the title. We have to try to fight until the end. For sure it won’t be easy.”

The Blues boss also took a little dig to Chelsea board regarding the transfer market:

“Man City were very strong, a very good team last season. This season they work very well in the transfer market and after this it was a team that showed to be very strong. The football is strange, it is very difficult now to predict who will win.

“I think they are having a positive path and it will be difficult for other teams.

“The reality is that Manchester City is a really dangerous team, not just England but the world. They have a fantastic team, a great manager and a great strategy, which they showed in the transfer market.

“Man City will be a great danger for this league and for the world, they can fight and win everything. They are working very well and I am worried because they are working very well.”

Despite facing some issues and many up and downs in this start of the season Chelsea dressing room is more compact than ever, as also Victor Moses claims before Premier League will restart next weekend after international break:

“I think we have done well,” the Nigerian stated.

“We as a team, whatever happens, we stick together and do the best we can. I think people have been a bit too harsh but we don’t need to think about that or concentrate on what people have been saying.

“These criticisms are the kinds of things that makes a player stronger. We know we just need to believe in ourselves and prove them wrong then win as many games as we can. We are 100 per cent together. We are like brothers here.

“Even after losing to Roma, we believe in ourselves collectively and individually. We just take each game as it comes.

“We beat Manchester United in our last match and now everyone is saying we’re the best. Football is like this.”

He added: “Why can’t we compete with City, United or any other club? Our players are good enough to compete with anyone. We have a lot of games to go so you can’t tell who’s going to win the league.

“We are nine points from Man City but we believe in ourselves and we believe that something can happen further down the line and that we will find ourselves back at the top.

“We still believe in ourselves and in the manager we have got so we will keep working hard and see where it takes us.”

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard believes the Blues are still in the Premier League title race even if Manchester City are top of the league and Antonio Conte‘s side is fourth with a gap of nine points.

“It’s a possibility”, – Lampard told Ominsport about Chelsea chances to retain their title – “but this year’s going to be difficult because Manchester City have started so well. The reality is that they’ve opened up a lead and have a very strong squad. I think for Chelsea, they’re fighting not just in the Premier League but in the Champions League and more games. I think Chelsea, for sure, will be competitive. Chelsea have to be established to stay in the top four every year because they have to play Champions League football. We’ll see. Manchester City have played very well but the performance against Manchester United from Chelsea was very impressive. If they play at that level, Chelsea can beat any team.”

Roma star Edin Dzeko knows really well Premier League sides and English football, having played four seasons in Manchester City.

Speaking to The Guardian ahead of tonight’s clash in Champions League against Chelsea, the Bosnian striker claimed:

“They are a very good team.

“I watch the Premier League every weekend and I was impressed with them last season.

“Conte gave them a different dimension, I would call that an Italian dimension.

“They are packed with fantastic individuals and a joy to watch, and no team can say it will be easy to go to Stamford Bridge and beat them.

“They are one of the teams that can win the Champions League this season.”
