Maurizio Sarri has three games to bounce back from Blues’ last disappointing defeats in Premier League and FA Cup and save his job. The first must-win clash is set on Thursday as Chelsea face Swedish side Malmo in the second-tie of Europa League last-32 at Stamford Bridge.

Carabao Cup final against Man City on Sunday as well as Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur will be both crucial games to determinate the Italian’s future at the club, with Chelsea currently struggling in 5th position level on points with London rivals Arsenal.

Defeat in any of those games could result in Sarri being sacked following just eight months in charge.

Whistles and jeers were heard at Stamford Bridge last night as a minority of Chelsea fans showed their discontent towards Maurizio Sarri and his concerning results with the Premier League giants.

The Blues were knocked out of FA Cup after losing against Manchester United at home last time out, following an astonishing 6-0 defeat at Etihad Stadium in their most recent Premier League clash on English soil.

Sarri insisted he is “worried about results, not about fans” despite concerns growing up regarding his position at Chelsea, however some supporters were heard chanting “f*** Sarriball” during the game. Zinedine Zidane has been heavily linked with a potential takeover at Stamford Bridge, with the club reportedly monitoring further candidates.

Chelsea face Swedish side Malmo in the Europa League’s last-32 second-tie before taking on Manchester City for the Carabao Cup final. A game which could be crucial to decide Maurizio Sarri’s future.

Maurizio Sarri has a tight schedule to persuade Chelsea board he deserves to be confirmed as Blues’ manager despite recent and disappointing defeats at Vitality Stadium (4-0 vs Bournemouth) and Etihad Stadium (6-0 vs Man City).

Chelsea will face Europa League last-32 first-leg tie against Malmo on Thursday and the Italian manager sees on the horizon before the end of February both FA Cup (Manchester United) clash and Carabao Cup final (Manchester City).

Sarri will also have to cope with Premier League clashes against Brighton and Tottenham Hotspur, the team who gave Chelsea a “lesson” earlier in November before being eliminated from the Carabao Cup in January.

One month to save his job at Stamford Bridge, according to The Guardian.

While speculations over his future as Chelsea manager are growing up, Sarri told Sky in Italy he has not been in touch with club’s president Roman Abramovich in the recent weeks. “If Abramovich calls me, I will be happy” he said.

“I never really speak to him, so I’d be happy to speak to him. That’s not a problem at all.

But I don’t know what to expect, to be honest with you. You always ask me questions about what the club will do. I don’t know. It will be your job to talk to the club.”

“My mum was a big influence in me coming here. Every decision, I speak to my mum and this one was the same. My mum has always been by my side for every decision I take.”

“We have trained a lot this season to try to improve. We had some bad results, but the humility was the key. We keep fighting and we keep our feet on the ground”.

Man City manager Pep Guardiola believes also Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspurs and Arsenal are currently involved in the race to lift the Premier League title in May. Liverpool are currently leading the table with 42 points, one above the Citizens.

The Spaniard, speaking after his side’s away defeat against Maurizio Sarri‘s men at Stamford Bridge, told journalists: “We are in December, also Tottenham or Chelsea or Arsenal can win the Premier League: everybody can win the Premier League.”

“Last season it happened the same in that period. I said that isn’t going to happen. Yesterday they asked me in the press conference and I said again that isn’t going to happen. We are not here to be invincible, we are here to try and be champion, to try and make one point more than our opponents”.

Guardiola added: “We monopolise the ball like Chelsea, we create the chances, we have two thousand million passes”.

“They beat us in one counter-attack and one set piece. We played the way we want to play. After that, when the opponent is good it’s always to congratulate them, shake hands and improve for the next game.”
