Eintracht and Chelsea drew 1-1 in the first leg of Europa League semifinal tonight.

Pedro netted a vital goal for the Blues in the end of the first half, with Sarri’s guys going to play with a slight advantage in the return leg at Stamford Bridge in a week for this away goal.

The match was leveled, with Eintracht being dominant in the first half and Chelsea in the second one.

There was a flurry of late chances that the home side might have taken, but, in truth, quite how the visitors did not inflict the Germans’ first home defeat in this competition will be a source of exasperation given the number of better opportunities passed up during a dominant second half.

The score at the end seemed even with but both sides struggled to create clear-cut chances and the match ended in a draw.

The two sides will meet again on Thursday, May 9 in London for the decisive second leg and a spot in the Europa League final.

Sadio Mane and Mo Salah’s goal condemn Chelsea to defeat but the Blues still maintain the fourth place.

The game was leveled but Chelsea were not efficient in their attacks, with the Reds finding the net twice in the beginning of the second part: at 51′ with Mane and at 53′ with Salah‘s stunner.

Eden Hazard was Chelsea most dangerous man when he hit the post right after Liverpool’s second goal and was denied a goal by Alisson moments later.

The Blues will face the next match in the Premier League on April 22nd against Burnley at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea win 2-0 against West Ham in the Monday night match and goes up to the third place in the table.

Eden Hazard was the man who gave the Blues the 3 points with a fantastic brace: the Blues now sit third in the Premier League table with 66 points, two more than Spurs ( 64, 4th) and three more than Arsenal ( 63, 5th) who have a game in hand, anyway.

Chelsea dominated the ball in the opening period, but had to wait until the 24th minute to cut West Ham open thanks to some Hazard brilliance.

In the end of the first half Gonzalo Higuain could score the second one for Chelsea after another Hazard superb playing but he hit the post.

West Ham had a couple of chances to equalise in the second part but Hazard sealed the game at 90′ with a half-volley on Barkley‘s cross.

Next game is at Anfield with leaders Liverpool on Sunday evening.

This Premier League’s weekend big match between Chelsea and Liverpool ends 1-1 thanks to the goals from Eden Hazard and Daniel Sturridge: the Reds remain top of the league along with Manchester City with 19 points, while the Blues follow the leading pair with 17 points in third position.

Chelsea played better in the first half and take the lead with Eden Hazard at 25′: the Belgian scores with a good left shot after running past all Liverpool defence on Mateo Kovacic’s assist.

Liverpool, anyway, went close to equalise when Rudiger saved a ball from Momo Salah on the goal line.

The Reds played better in the second part and, again, a ball from Firmino was saved on the line by David Luiz, while Kepa justifies his £ 71.6m price-tag with a great save on Sadio Manè, while Eden Hazard and Xherdan Shaqiri both miss easy goals in front of their opposite keepers.

Eventually, Liverpool had their efforts rewarded in the last minute or regular time, when Sturridge levelled with an absolute stunner, enought to let Jurgen Klopp’s side be Premier League leaders again.

Bernardo Silva condemns Chelsea to the third away defeat in a row with a goal at 48′ at Etihad Stadium today.

Manchester City won 1-0 summing up other 3 points and reaching 78 in the table: Pep Guardiola‘s guys are now 4 wins closer to their Premier League title, maintaining 18 points on the second placed team, in this moment Liverpool (60) , since Manchester United ( 59) have got a game in hand ( tomorrow night against Crystal Palace).

Chelsea, on the other hand, remain 5th in the table with 53 points, 5 less than Spurs ( 4th with 58) and now their chances to qualify for next Champions League are even more feeble.

The game, actually, wasn’t spectacular, with City trying to create dangerous chances but not succeeding and Chelsea waiting to counter-attack.

Bernando Silva went close to score a couple of times also in the first half, but his efforts weren’t successful.

He was awarded in the beginning of the second half, when Gundogan and Agüero showed their class in a terrific play, Christensen wasn’t good in clearance and David Silva put in a cross that the Portuguese was ready to take for a tap-in.

Chelsea didn’t have the strength to react and so they came back to London, again, with 0 points.

Chelsea lose 2-1 against Manchester United after being the best team in the first 45′ and taking the lead with Willian after 32′: the Red Devils respond with Lukaku ( 39′) and Lingard ( 75′) so, eventually, it’s José Mourinho that wins the duel with Antonio Conte after the war started in the press room a couple of months ago.

The Blues start better and Alvaro Morata hits the crossbar after only 5 minutes, an effort that would have deserved more luck after Marcos Alonso put in a great volée assist.

Conte’s lads are dominant in the first game but not able to produce serious dangers to David De Gea, who doesn’t have to save any ball, while United seem strained.

At 32′ Chelsea take the lead after a counter-attack brilliantly finished by Willian, with Man United goalkeeper that could have done better on the shot on his pole.

This is the episode that wakes Romelu Lukaku the Red Devils up: the Belgian, until then one of the worst on the pitch, finally controls a ball and, after great play by Pogba and Sanchez, scores the equaliser.

In the second half Mourinho’s boys enter with more determination and will to win: after a few minutes Lukaku, always him, almost net the ball again with a superb volée: Courtois miraculously saves hits and deflects in corner.

It wasn’t long, however, before the striker impacted the match – with his cross being headed into the back of the net by Lingard with 15 minutes to go, the English midfielder had entered some minutes before to replace an evanescent Martial.

Morata thought he had equalised in the 85th minute, but his goal was ruled out for offside, though replays showed the striker was onside. However, the referee ruled him offside before he even controlled the ball.

Manchester United were able to hold on to take all three points and consolidate their place in the top four while Chelsea now languish in fifth place with a crunch match against Manchester City to come next Sunday.

A good Chelsea is stopped by Leo Messi, who scores his first goal ever to the Blues, and get only a 1-1 in the first leg of this Champions League last of 16.

Antonio Conte‘s side were really unlucky in the first half, when Willian hit the post twice in only seven minutes, at 34′ and 41’ with two shots from his from the box limit.

The Blaugrana, as usual, were dominant in the ball possession and in the game control, but they were barely dangerous, just a couple of headers by Paulinho and Pique that went wide.

Besides the posts, Chelsea were close to score also with Eden Hazard ( twice) whose shots went high on the crossbar and Antonio Rudiger, who was close to net the ball with a header.

Valverde’s side seemed more determined in the beginning of the second part, Suarez had his first attempt saved by Thibaut Courtois but it was Chelsea who took the lead when at minute 62′ Willian finally found the net with another shot from the limit after a short corner: it was the moment Stamford Bridge stands shook.

Barcelona, anyway, had a reaction after finding themselves one goal down and put all their effort to equalise: a draw that came at 75′ after a horrible defence from the Blues, with Marcos Alonso giving away a ball with a horizontal pass near the box while Barça were pressing close to it, Fabregas and Azpilcueta missed it, Iniesta got it and immediately assisted Messi who was able to score his first goal to Chelsea after eight attempts.

Chelsea also had the time to throw a couple of counter-attacks away, with Alvaro Morata that entered only at 82′ for Pedro, who had never been able to be dangerous against his former team.

Everything will be decided in three weeks at Camp Nou, where the game promises to be thrilling.

An easy job for Chelsea tonight: four goals in the first half to beat Hull City and gain FA Cup quarter finals.

Everything went smoothly for the Blues when after only 160 seconds Willian netted the opener with an amazing shot of his from the box limit that just entered in the posts cross.

The Blues took control of the game and, in only 25 minutes, had the time to miss four chances with Fabregas, Willian, Giroud and Pedro.

The Spaniard, anyway, redeemed himself with a beautiful goal at 27′ and, only five minutes later, Willian sealed the game with his personal brace with another shot from the limit.

Right before half-time Olivier Giroud could score his first goal in Chelsea shirt assisted by Emerson Palmieri, at his official debut tonight.

The game was practically over only after 45 minutes, with the two sides doing something more than a training in the second part.

Chelsea will know their rivals in the quarter finals next week, but now their mind is only at the Champions League clash against Barcelona next Tuesday.

After tongiht 3-0 win over West Brom Chelsea crisis is probably over and now the Blues can start to think about Barcelona, due to land on Stamford Bridge next week after the FA Cup clash against Hull City.

It was Eden Hazard that led Chelsea to get the three points tonight, opening the score at 25′ with a sharp shot after a give and go with Olivier Giroud.

The Frenchman and Zappacosta failed to score some minutes before, with Foster saving his goal in a couple of chance, but first of all it was Jay Rodriguez that missed an incredible chance in the beginning of the game after a mistake by Victor Moses.

The Nigerian, anyway,  got back at it putting his name on the scoresheet at 63′ with a brilliant finishing.

Just some minutes before, Rondón failed a great chance to equalise when left alone in front of Thibaut Courtois.

Eight minutes after Moses’ goal Hazard completed his brace and sealed the game, giving back some calmness to the environment and to his team-mates.

A well deserved pass for Carabao Cup final earned by Arsenal tonight after beating a Chelsea, who gave the impression they never really believed in reaching it.

Gunners were far more motivated than the Blues and despite conceding the first goal to Antonio Conte‘s side after only 7’ – Eden Hazard scored it – they immediately reacted and equalised thanks to an unlucky deflection by Marcos Alonso first and then Antonio Rudiger in their own goal.

Chelsea were actually in the game until Willian got injured after 27′ and was forced to limp off the pitch with a suspected hamstring injury, being replaced by Ross Barkley, who made his official debut for the Blues, his first game since last May. However, he didn’t impress.

From that point onward Arsenal took the control of the game despite the Blues trying to take the lead again with a couple of chances threw by Hazard.

The second part saw Arsene Wenger side being dominant and finding a deserved goal with Granit Xhaka at 60′.

Chelsea weren’t able to react or create dangerous chance, they only tried with the strength born of desperation in the last minutes of the game.

Conte now has to deal with an injury emergency and a way to refresh confidence and physical form in his players before Newcastle clash in FA Cup next Sunday.

Arsenal will Manchester City, who beat Bristol City last night, in the competition final at Wembley in one month.
