Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas spoke about the race to finish in the Premier League‘s top four and gain a place in the next Champions League:

What has changed is that we’ve won the last four games we played, they’ve been dropping points and it’s got to a point where now we are close to them”. Fabregas said. “The bad thing about all of this is that it’s not up to us. What’s up to us is winning the last two games, putting pressure on Liverpool and Spurs and seeing what happens”.

Pochettino‘s side and the Reds, as Fabregas said have dropped points recently and the Blues midfielder hopes this will happen again tonight and on Sunday: “We’ll be watching closely to see what they can do and if they drop points that’s fantastic because the target is winning titles, of course, but for clubs like Chelsea it’s also being in the top four and doing well in the Premier League”. Fabregas went on. “To always be in the Champions League is very important”.

Chelsea legend John Terry, paid tribute to Ray Wilkins who passed away yesterday.

In particular, Terry remembered the time he was a young player and Wilkins spoke very often with him.

Ray was such a great man,” the former Blues centre-back told TalkSport“I was 16 or 17, standing there cleaning my boots and cleaning my pro’s boots, and he’d come and say to me, ‘JT, come on fella, get your boots on’. He would say to me that I need to work on my left foot, I need to work on this…You look at the world class players he played with, I was always asking him questions about them, all us young players used to sit there picking his brains and he always had so much time. I was a young player, I was nothing, but he had so much time for myself and the other young players to pass on his education of the game and his experiences in football. I will always remember him saying to me: ‘JT, why have two touches when one will do? Get it and give it to the midfielder. They’re the proper players, son, you’re a defender for a reason’! He would pick players up after defeat. As individuals, if you were going through a difficult time on and off the field, he’d be the first one to pull you into the office or put an arm around your shoulder or call you and make sure everything was ok. It wasn’t just the first-team players, it was the staff as well, he treated everybody exactly the same. He made everyone feel special.”

I will do my best to get better than I was in 2014,” Willian said. “You mature, you learn things. This time I have done specific work and I’ve changed all the food in my house to be in the best condition I can be. Every professional has their way of working. I prefer not to go back in time and talk about 2014,”

He doesn’t know if he will be playing neither if he will celebrate if he will score a goal, but Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has a very strong intention about Wednesday night Champions League game vs Barcelona at Nou Camp.

The Spanish player, when asked about Leo Messi, told the Daily Mirror: “If I am lucky enough to play, it’s true that we are positioned in nearby areas of the pitch, stopping him will be difficult but I will try to do everything possible so that he feels uncomfortable and can’t put together a perfect performance. I see him as a rival who wants to win, and I want the same thing. We are in different teams and each player wants what is best for their own club. Obviously, you always have respect for each other.”

Nemanja Matic last summer was sold by Chelsea to Manchester United so, yesterday’s game at Old Trafford was special for the midfielder who won two Premier League titles with the Blues before joining the Red Devils.

After the game, however, Matic himself claimed he just wanted to show his quality and not to prove anything to Chelsea or Antonio Conte.

I played for Chelsea for three-and-a-half years and I gave my best to win against them and show my quality again,” Matic said. “I didn’t have anything to prove to them. I wanted to show my new club that I deserve to wear this Manchester United shirt. I don’t want to speak about why I left Chelsea. I will keep that to myself. I’m happy in Manchester and that’s it. Moving to United was good for me. I play for a big club.”
