On Saturday Chelsea will face Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. Pep Guardiola‘s team are top of the table now and the players are confident they can get a good result vs the reigning Premier League champions.

City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, for example, has a message for his rivals: “It’s a huge game and it’s away, so it’s even more difficult, but we feel ready”. – Gundogan said – If you ask the manager there is always something to improve but we know that we are a great team, we have great players and it’s just up to us to prove that every fourth day. It’s also about character, going to Stamford Bridge against the champions to play our game. We’re going to prove that we are ready for that and hopefully it will be a great game for us.”

Leicester have raised again their transfer fee request for Danny Drinkwater.

Chelsea placed a couple of bids to secure the services of the England international but both of them ( £ 18 and £ 30) were rejected.

The Foxes are demanding £ 40m to let the Blues sign the English midfielder, so now the West London side will have one more week to increase the offer, as this transfer window will close in eight days.

Leicester City boss Craig Shakespeare spoke out about the in-demand pair over the weekend, insisting:

“I’ve read the speculation the same as you but until we get the bids accepted, there’s no difference for me.

“We carry on with them. All the time we’re talking about the speculation. We’ll carry on as normal until I’m told otherwise.

“I’ve said that your worst fear is that an acceptable bid comes in, but if it does, we have to deal with it. Until it does, we have no decision to make.”

Drinkwater is keen to move to Stamford Bridge and he missed last weekend Leicester 2-0 win over Brighton, but this was due to a thigh injury.

However, the Foxes midfielder will complete the move only if Chelsea will satisfy Leicester latest fee request.

AC Milan are considering to place a bid for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas following the decision of new Chinese owners to give Rossoneri‘s manager Vincenzo Montella around £100m to spend in the summer.

It is understood the Serie A giants tried to land the Spaniard to San Siro in the last transfer market window, but Fabregas was determined to stay at Stamford Bridge until the end of the season, but he could reportedly consider a move to Italy next summer.

The 29-year-old is facing competition from both Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante in midfield and AC Milan seem to have made the Chelsea star one of their top summer transfer targets.

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante revealed that his career could change when, in summer, 2015, he was close to join Olympique Marseille instead of signing for Leicester City.

The French midfielder eventually signed for the Foxes and was a key-man in the incredible title-winning campaign last year and signed for Chelsea last summer, where he became a key-player for Antonio Conte‘s side as well.

“Among the clubs that most wanted to recruit me were Marseille and Leicester,” Kante told Canal +.

“I thought I had to go through a stage in France. I remember the generation of [Mamadou] Niang, [Franck] Ribery and Samir Nasri and it was a team that I liked, especially in the Champions League.”

Kante also had his say on the PFA Players’ Player of the Year Award, with the midfielder remaining humble and suggesting others deserve the gong ahead of him.

“There are quite a few players in the Premier League who deserve this award.

“There is Eden Hazard, Diego Costa and David Luiz in my team.”

Joey Barton claims Chelsea star N’Golo Kante is overrated.

The France midfielder, 25, has been one of Leicester City heroes in their shock title win last season and now he’s become a key-player for the Blues in this fantastic campaign that will probably lead them to some silverware:

But Barton, whose Burnley team held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw last month, stated:

“At the moment, in England, people only swear by N’Golo Kante. It’s the fashion.

“For pundits, he’s the best midfielder in the world. Oh! He’s very good, but I played against him three weeks ago, and that’s not the case.

“He’s a fantastic destroyer in a phenomenal team, but not a creator.”

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte praised midfielder N’Golo Kante ahead of next F.A. Cup clash against Manchester United.

The Frenchman will face a compatriot on the pitch tomorrow night, Paul Pogba, which Conte manager for two campaigns at Juventus.

Conte told the club’s official website: “My job is to try and improve my players and I want to improve my players through working very hard. We are talking about a great player – he played very well in the past, last season with Leicester, and he is playing very well also this season with us”.

‘We are working in some aspects to try and improve him, to make him a more complete player, but we are talking about a great player. N’Golo is also a fantastic person, with great commitment and he is a great example”.

‘He’s a really good guy – he always has a smile on his face and this is fantastic. During training sessions, he works a lot, but with a smile. To see this is great for the other players, for the staff, for me and all the people who work at Chelsea. He’s a great player and, I repeat, he always puts 100 per cent in the game but also in the training”.

‘In my career I like a lot this type of player, also because I was this type of player! I always appreciate this player, with great generosity, with great ability to work for the team. I think it’s important to have this type of player if you want to win. Not only great talent, but also players that run a lot during the game.’

Then, when asked whether he sees something of himself in Kante, he added: “He’s stronger than me! I think I was perhaps stronger than him to score the goal, but in the other aspects, there isn’t a competition with him – he is stronger than me”.

When asked about the importance of Red Devils’ star Pogba: “I don’t like to talk about the players of the other teams, but in this case, with Paul, I have had the opportunity in the past to train him and, yeah, we are talking about a top player in all the situations.’

“Also, in his commitment during training sessions to try to improve himself, with great technique, physically strong and great stamina – I can tell you that Paul Pogba is a top player”.

“We are working to try to find the right solution for the whole team, not only for Pogba or for one individual player. We are studying Manchester United to try to find the right solution. Paul is a really good player, we must pay great attention to him, but it’s right to think about the whole Manchester United team because this team is very strong”.

Trying to compare Kante and Pogba, Conte ended: “They are two different players with different characteristics. It’s very difficult to try to compare Paul and N’Golo – two top players but with different characteristics”.
