According to Calciomercato,  Chelsea are keen on securing the services of the Belgian wonderkid Youri Tielemans during the winter transfer window. However, besides the Blues also Arsenal and Atletico Madrid are interested in signing the young midfielder.

Tielemans who currently plays at Anderlecht Brussels signed a five-year contract to stay in Belgium last month. However, despite this, the club does not preclude his transfer in the winter transfer window.

But, according to the reports, the Belgian team are apparently asking for an unrealistic fee. Anderlecht have put at least £14.4million price-tag on their midfielder, what is rather an exorbitant rate for the young player.

It is said, that Chelsea would like to sign him but probably Tielemans can be just a little too good to be part of their buy and loan scheme.

The Belgium Under-21 international has already made 93 appearances for the team and scored six goals last season.

barcelona rakitic champions

Barcelona ace Ivan Rakitic won the treble last season with Blaugrana, scoring also a goal in the Berlin final against Juventus.

At 27, the Swiss-born Croatia international is considered among the best midfielders in the world, but few people know that when he was 16 he was approached by Chelsea but rejected the move to London.

Speaking to FourFourTwo he explained why:

I wanted to stay at home. I had a really special relationship with the president of Basel.

It was much better for me to do pre-season with the first team there and then work my way gradually to the top.

There was another guy in my situation, Jonas Elmer, who moved from Zurich to Chelsea at the age of 17.

“He ended up playing in the second division in Switzerland. Maybe that could have been me.”

When asked if moving to Premier League was a possibility, he added:

Of course, I like it very much. A lot of my friends are playing in the Premier League: it’s a different style of football and I always enjoy playing in Europe against English teams.

Maybe one day I can play there, too.

I like how every game is always intense and how everybody lives for football. You can have a game like Crystal Palace vs Stoke where both teams are strong, powerful, fully committed and the crowd are fully behind their team.”
