Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Francesco Fontana has revealed Maurizio Sarri is still in Tuscany while rumors regarding his potential takeover at Stamford Bridge are growing up.

“You know the situation” Sarri reportedly told the Italian journalist in Italy.

“I just can’t talk right now” he added.

His wife reportedly added: “We hope everything could be sorted out soon”.

While talks between Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis and Chelsea board are still ongoing, also some transfers remain blocked as the one which could land Daniele Rugani to Stamford Bridge this summer.

His agent told Sportitalia: “It is obvious to say that the Sarri question must first be resolved, then proceed with the negotiations and make them more or less concrete.”

However, current Chelsea head-coach Antonio Conte was pictured in Cobham yesterday as the squad started his pre-season tests in Cobham training centre.

Gianfranco Zola, who’s set to take part of Maurizio Sarri‘s backroom staff, is confident “the clubs are working on” the deal to bring the Italian manager to Stamford Bridge in the next few hours.

The Chelsea legend told Sky in Italy: “There’s so much talk. There are many teams who would like a coach like Sarri. I think the parties are working on it, but I don’t know anything more.

“Antonio Conte did a great job. If Sarri were to go to Chelsea I hope he’s allowed to work as he wants, because that’s how he can improve teams.

“It’s definitely a different challenge, Chelsea is a new situation. I hope Maurizio will get the chance to do top work.”

Napoli defender Raul Albiol won’t join Chelsea as the Spaniard put the pen to paper on a new deal with the Serie A side until June 2021.

Several reports claimed Maurizio Sarri was adamant to bring Raul Albiol, Elseid HysajJosé Maria Callejon and Dries Mertens to Stamford Bridge as soon as his move to Chelsea is completed.

However, Chelsea won’t reportedly try to sign players from Napoli in order to respect a gentlemen’s agreement between the board and Azzurri’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

Raul Albiol’s contract extension could be a signal.

Reports in Italy claim Maurizio Sarri has cancelled his trip to London scheduled for today, as Chelsea still have no deal with Napoli’s chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis on his release clause.

It was reported yesterday that the Partenopei had agreed to finally release the Coach from his contract, for a fee of around €5m.

That would have seen Sarri fly out to the U.K today to sign a two-year contract with an option for a third to be announced once Antonio Conte’s deal is resolved.

However, speaking on Radio CRC Premium Sport Naples based journalist Raffaele Auriemma expressed his doubts upon the deal.

According to him, Sarri has been advised by his lawyers not to fly to London today, because that could spark legal action from Napoli.

The issue is that while there may be a basic agreement on €5m, it is De Laurentiis who must receive offers from Chelsea, not the sporting director or anyone else.

It appears that hasn’t happened, so everything is on hold until the chairman gives the go-ahead.

Maurizio Sarri is expected to be announced as the new Chelsea manager in the next few days.

The former Napoli boss has reportedly targeted Dries Mertens, José Maria Callejon, Elseid Hysaj and Raul Albiol to bolster Chelsea team ahead of his move to Stamford Bridge.

DRIES MERTENS – €28m buy-out clause (30th June 2020)

JOSE MARIA CALLEJON – €23m buy-out clause (30th June 2020)

ELSEID HYSAJ – €50m buy-out clause (contracted until 30th June 2021)

RAUL ALBIOL – €8m buy-out clause (contracted until 30th June 2020)

Chelsea are also keeping tabs on Juventus defender Daniele Rugani despite his agent recently ruled out a potential move to Stamford Bridge as “no formal offers have arrived, he is happy to be there and Juve are happy with him”.

Moreover, it is understood contacts to land Jean-Michael Seri to Stamford Bridge have been productive.

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly backs Azzurri‘s former manager Maurizio Sarri and believes his imminent move to Chelsea is going to be a success.

It is understood the Blues are keeping tabs on the Senegal international defender, but new Napoli manager and former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly asked Aurelio De Laurentiis to stand firm and refuse any offer for the centre-back.

Koulibaly, who won a crucial opener against Poland in the World Cup last evening, told journalists: “They [Chelsea] can expect nice football because he is a very good coach.

“I’m disappointed that he leaves like this but we have now a big coach [Carlo Ancelotti]. We know we can win something with him”.

“I hope he will win something with Chelsea because he’s a nice coach. When a coach like this comes he needs time. So I think they have to give him time because he will change the football of Chelsea, I think.

“At Napoli we enjoyed it very much as players and the supporters enjoyed it very much. At Chelsea I think it will be the same.”

Chelsea are set to appoint Maurizio Sarri as their new manager, with Gianfranco Zola reportedly eager to become the Blues’ next director of sport.

With the Italian boss at Stamford Bridge, some reports suggest a number of players could be signed by Chelsea from Napoli and Senegalese centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly seems to be their main target.

However, Azzurri’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed “not just one” player will leave the Serie A side when the transfer market window reopens in July.

He said: “Koulibaly is unapproachable and with him also [Piotr] Zielinski and with them [Marko] Rog.”

It is understood Napoli rejected a massive £58m bid for Koulibaly earlier last summer, before completing the signing of Antonio Rudiger from AS Roma.

Gazzetta dello Sport claims Maurizio Sarri is ‘very close’ to Chelsea but warns his Napoli € 8m release clause will return in a matter of weeks.

The Italian sports paper claims Chelsea have prepared a ‘lucrative’ two-year contract for Sarri, which includes an extend option for a third season, while Blues legend Gianfranco Zola will assist him at Stamford Bridge.

However,  Chelsea would have to hurry their negotiations with Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis as the manager release clause, which expired at the end of May, will become effective again ‘at the start of July’.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is the main candidate to replace Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid, Spanish outlet Marca claims.

The French manager resigned after winning three Champions League in a row, an all time record, for personal reasons.

The Spaniards were pursuing Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, but he just signed an extension of his deal with the North London club.

According to Marca, Conte is now in pole position for the job, as his relationship with Chelsea directors has fallen out in the past year.

Despite winning the Premier League at his first attempt and the FA Cup in his second season, Conte and the board keep disagreeing on transfer market and club strategy.

Chelsea still have to finalise the deal with former PSG manager Laurent Blanc, despite agreeing terms several days ago, as they continue to wait for ex Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri, who is trying to close his contract with the Italian side without paying a penalty.

Former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri is willing to take the reins at Stamford Bridge following a meeting with Chelsea‘s representatives yesterday, as London Evening Standard confirmed earlier this morning.

The Italian will reportedly ask Roman Abramovich to sign some players from Napoli and a two-year deal if Chelsea trigger the £7million buyout clause, which is valid until the end of the month.

However, reports also in England confirmed Sarri will be the successor as coach if Antonio Conte leaves the club in the next few days.

We reported Chelsea target Mauricio Pochettino has extended his contract at Tottenham Hotspur until June 2023 yesterday, while Serie A side Napoli replaced Sarri with former Blues’ boss Carlo Ancelotti.
