Spurs winger Lucas Moura won Premier League Player of the Month award for August.

Chelsea full-back Marcos Alonso was among the nominees as well along with Liverpool star Sadio Mane, Cardiff City keeper Neil Etheridge, Man City’s Benjamin Mendy,  Watford’s Roberto Pereyra and Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk.

Lucas, who could train for the full pre-season , has been a revelation for Tottenham so far and shone in the absence of Son Heung-min, who was in Indonesia for the Asian Games with his national team, South Korea, who won the competition.

The former PSG started all three of Tottenham’s games in August — scoring his first Premier League goal in a 3-1 win over Fulham before bagging two in a 3-0 victory at Manchester United.

A big disappointment for Chelsea Alonso, who was really important for his side in these first games of the new campaign: he was always among the best men on the pitch and scored late winners against Arsenal and Newcastle.
