Emerson Palmieri signed for Chelsea during the last January transfer window and now the Brazilian defender feels ready to make his debut with the Blues.

Physically, I feel great. The injury is now in the past.” Emerson Palmieri told Chelsea’s official matchday programme. They were six difficult months for me but what is important is right now and I feel good. I couldn’t feel better so I only have in mind the idea of training with my team and helping us achieve success. I came here because this is a great club with a great history. English football is something I have been watching since I was 15 years old. It’s a really beautiful game over here and it’s going to be even more beautiful to play it. I’m coming here with great expectations.”

Chelsea full-back Baba Rahman has returned to Schalke 04 on loan after recovering from a knee injury.

An official statement on the Blues website read:

Baba Rahman has today joined Schalke on loan until the end of the 2018/19 season.

The Ghanaian defender, 23, re-joins the Bundesliga side, where he spent the first half of last season before sustaining a knee injury during the Africa Cup of Nations.

Baba signed for Chelsea from another German side, Augsburg, in the summer of 2015 and made 23 appearances during his maiden season at Stamford Bridge.

Schalke are currently third in the Bundesliga.

The Ghana international made 21 appearances on loan at Schalke in the 2016-17 season before his campaign was cut short by a cruciate ligament injury while in action for his country at the African Nations Cup last January.

Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda has joined Celtic on an 18-month loan deal, the clubs have announced.

Musonda, 21, stayed at Stamford Bridge in an attempt to break into the first team rather than leaving on loan last summer, and signed a new deal until December 2022.

But he has since made just 7 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, only 2 of which were starts.

Chelsea believe that working under former Blues academy coach Brendan Rodgers could kickstart Musonda’s senior career in football.

Celtic published an official statement that read:

“The Belgian Under-21 internationalist has been a much sought-after player in this transfer window, with many of Europe’s top clubs keen to take him on loan,” a Celtic club statement said of the move.

“However, both the player and his parent club believe that his football development will be best served at Celtic Park under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers.”

Alan Shearer commented Ross Barkley‘s move to Chelsea claiming this will be the once in a lifetime chance for the England midfielder, that has to prove his talent at Stamford Bridge despite being stopped by an injury in the last months.

The 24-year-old completed a £ 15m move from Everton to the Blues yesterday:

“We’ve been talking about Ross now for a number of years to say what a talent he is,” said the former striker, now a pundit at BBC.

“He’s now got an opportunity once and for all I think to actually go and prove it.

“He’s got the ability, we haven’t seen it anywhere near enough.

“Whether he’s going to play there or not is a different matter.”

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy replied to him:

“The thing is, £15million is not a big risk.

“I know they will be paying him a few quid, but in a good side like that, he can score goals.”
