Bamford has piqued the interest of a number of clubs after his loan spell at Middlesbrough.

Middlesbrough have just announced the permanent signing of Patrick Bamford from Chelsea.

The 23-year-old already played at Boro two seasons ago in the Championship, where he impressed scoring 19 goals and helping the team to reach the Playoffs finals, being also named Sky Bet Championship Player of the Year.

The official statement read:

Middlesbrough have secured the signing of striker Patrick Bamford from Chelsea for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old has penned a four-and-a-half-year deal to return to Teesside to further strengthen Aitor Karanka’s squad.

Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford is on the verge of signing for Middlesbrough on a permanent basis, according to reports in England.

The former Norwich and Burnley forward is reportedly set to join the Teeside outfit this week as the 23-year-old has already underwent a medical.

Middlesbrough are ready to spend around £6m plus extra £4m in add-ons.

Bamford already played for Boro in 2014/15 campaign featuring 38 times and scoring 18 goals.

Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford returned to London after ending his loan spell at Burnley.

The Clarets announced it with a tweet:

“Patrick Bamford has ended his loan spell with Burnley after being recalled by parent club Chelsea”.

The 23-year-old failed to break into Sean Dyche‘s first team plans during his time at Turf Moor founding himself behind Sam Vokes and Andre Gray in the pecking order.

The Blues are likely to attempt to find a new club for the English forward, with Middlesbrough a possible destination.

Bamford was already loaned out to the Teesside club in the 2014-2015 season during which time he scored 17 goals but in his following loan spells he always failed to reach expectations.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports via Sky Sport that Antonio Conte is keen on signing former Juventus forward Fernando Llorente from Swansea, while Michy Batshuayi could join another Premier League side on loan, with Crystal Palace also keen on the Belgian star.

Moreover it has been reported that Chelsea loanee Patrick Bamford could return to Stamford Bridge after failing to make an impact with Burnley, according to SkySports. 

Bamford has made six appearances for Sean Dyche’s side so far.

It is understood that Chelsea star Diego Costa needs a backup striker as Antonio Conte’s team will fight for the Premier League title until the end of season.

Chelsea loanee Patrick Bamford has apologised after appearing to celebrate Arsenal’s win on Saturday as he liked several pictures which were ridiculing the Blues’ loss at the Emirates Stadium.

He wrote on his official Twtter page: “Wth regards to the Instagram pics I liked, was only liking my friend’s pics as I’ve done many a time. No shade or disrespect intended. Sorry!”.

Bamford is currently on loan at Premier League side Burnley as failed to break into Chelsea starting XI under new manager Antonio Conte.

Some Blues fans have since called out the 23-year-old, that later attempted to play it down, insisting he was merely liking the pictures of his friends and had meant no disrespect:
