“I think we must be very happy for the performance” said Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, speaking at a press conference following his side’s 1-3 victory over Huddersfield Town tonight.

“We showed a great personality and desire to win the game against a very good team. They beat Manchester United and also Man City struggled to win, this victory improves our confidence after a defeat against West Ham”.

“Chelsea won seven games from the last nine, we drew against Liverpool away and lost at West Ham. I think we are doing a great path but there is a team that is doing a special thing. We have to continue in this way to try to play this football, my players enjoyed to play this type of football. I saw a lot of positive things, but one negative was to concede at the end and we must improve in this because it is important to keep clean sheets, for the goalkeeper and the team”.

The Italian manager added: “This is a big win, on the paper we have played two games at home with Swansea and Newcastle. They have a good coach and organisation, it is not simple to win here. To win against them is not simple”.

Then, just after the final whistle Willian said:  “Always when I play I want to play well and make the difference for my team-mates. I want to play every game, everyone wants to play every game but there are only 11 players. ‘I just do my best.”

Former Chelsea player Joe Cole spoke following tonight’s 1-3 win over Huddersfield Town, a game in which Eden Hazard was not among the goalscorers despite e brilliant performance showed on the pitch.

“He’s one of the those players that when you’ve got a gem like him in your side you’ve got to build around him” Joe Cole said.

“What makes him special is his game intelligence. He always makes the right decisions, and he’s strong as an ox. He plays like he plays in the playground”.

Tiemoue Bakayoko, Willian and Pedro all scored in Chelsea’s away victory over Huddersfield Town tonight. The Premier League champions are now level on points with Manchester United, despite the Red Devils still with one game in hand to be played tomorrow (vs Bournemouth at Old Trafford).

Chelsea defender and captain Gary Cahill was crucial in 2012 when the Blues eliminated Barcelona, before winning the UEFA Champions League trophy against Bayern Munich at Allianz ArenA.

The England defender, who featured alongside David Luiz in Munich, told Chelsea’s official website: “In a weird way I kind of expected it, there were only three options so it was quite a likely outcome. It will be a very tough game but it’s a great fixture to look forward to, both for us as players and the supporters”.

“It’s a very difficult tie but hugely exciting for everybody. We have good memories from the last time we played them and obviously we went on to win the trophy”.

Then he reminded: “We beat them 1-0 at home and then held them away, that famous game at the Nou Camp, so they’re great memories”.

“This stands alone, two big games. They’re a tough opponent but I’m sure they will be looking at us in the same way”.

Earlier today Chelsea have been drawn vs Barcelona in the Champions League Last 16 stage.

The Spanish manager Ernesto Valverde admits the Blues are a tough opponent, especially for their offensive potential.

“It’s a tough draw for us because of the magnitude of the opposition,” – Valverde said. – “Chelsea are champions of the Premier League but we’re excited about the tie, even though it will be difficult. Chelsea are a strong and physical team, with a clear tactical system in place. They take advantage of the physical nature of the Premier League well. With the signing of Morata they’ve added pace in attack, while Hazard is very good between the lines.”
