Michy Batshuayi took his chance as Conte expected

Another young flying talent to recognise is: “Batshuayi”… the 23-year old really took his chance to make his stake” in the Chelsea team in this afternoon’s third-round FA Cup Tie against Peterborough where he was fantastic on the attack. Manager Antonio Conte said before the game that the youngster should “make his stake in the team” and make the most of the “rare opportunity”.

After playing only 82 minutes of football in the Premier League this season since his £33million arrival in the summer, the Belgian has sent a message to Antonio Conte to ensure he has clear striker options.

FA CUP - THIRD ROUND: Chelsea 4 - 1 Peterborough United

Chelsea 2 – 0 Peterborough United

  • Pedro (18′minutes)
  • Batshuayi (43′minutes)

In today’s FA Cup Third Round at home Chelsea lead 2-0 with a Pedro goal after 18 minutes followed by a second by Batshuayi.

Pedro almost scored a second goal but clipped the top corner of the cross bar after a lovely attacking move which saw him have an easy clear chance.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has emphasised the chance for Michy Batshuayi to make an impressive impact. And after 44 minutes Batshuayi “staked his claim” in the team as the manager wanted by scoring Chelsea’s second goal. It was a late goal approaching the half-time mark just as Peterborough were trying to get back in the game after a missed chance by the Blues.

OSCAR set for Super League on weekly earnings of £400,000

Chelsea’s former attacking midfielder Oscar dos Santos Emboaba  Júnior, better known as OSCAR lands in China for Chinese club Shanghai SIPG after a tantalising confirmed fee of £52 million.

The Brazilian Midfielder, aged 25 was mobbed by crowds at the Chinese Airport on Monday with gifts of flowers and a scarf as he took photos. Chelsea have confirmed the deal of £52 million which has given OSCAR a move beyond his wildest dreams. OSCAR now beats the record signing of his Brazil team-mate HULK who in June was sold by Zenit St Petersburg for a whopping £47 million and on a weekly earning of £320,000.

Chelsea as a Premier League football club have now richly benefited from the sales of their players more than any other team in the Premiership. Since June 2013 Chelsea have made around a reported £314.4 million which has made heads turn. Players still are on loan as well as coming in and ANTONIO CONTE seems keen to use the players he currently have on high performance on a consistent rotation. The likes of CESC FABREGAS, VICTOR MOSES, PEDRO and WILLIAN have all been firing for the Blues and OSCAR going abroad is a move which players like JOHN OBI MIKEL who have not made the team may also consider in the January transfer window.

Whether it is China or Europe for yet to feature Chelsea players like JOHN OBI MIKEL is not yet fully certain. But high-flying midfielder OSCAR has made up his mind and moved from Stamford Bridge to the Chinese Far-East. On his Instagram OSCAR commented once the deal was agreed saying: “I want to thank Chelsea, the owner and all the employees who have made my time at the club so special”.

OSCAR added: “A very special thank you to the Chelsea fans you guys are very special and I am honoured to have been a part of your club. We have won some special titles together”.

Football Focus stat: one goal conceded by Chelsea in 12-game run

In twelve consecutive Premier League wins so far, CHELSEA has only conceded once says the BBC Football Focus pundit John Motson on today’s final programme of the year.  MOTSON asked his fellow pundits in the studio the question: “Chelsea have conceded just once in their 12-game winning run but to whom?” To the astonishment of the Football Focus pundit team with Presenter Dan Walker, the answer eventually was sifted out before the end of the programme.

It was revealed that CHELSEA this season has been on a 12-game consecutive winning streak with just the one goal scored against them by Tottenham.  There was another occasion when one goal was actually conceded or rather scored against CHELSEA. This was in-fact an own goal. Therefore, going into the New Year’s Eve last game for this year, CHELSEA will be confident in knowing they can possibly keep yet another clean sheet.

Today’s game against Stoke City sees CHELSEA playing at home captained by GARY CAHILL who scored that own goal that has created stats that pundits like John Motson have brought into focus. No team have scored against CHELSEA this season with a headed goal and DAVID LUIS in defence alongside the Chelsea captain and CESAR AZPILICUETA have to stay firm in their 3-man defensive back line.

With NGOLO KANTE and DIEGO COSTA both back from suspension, it could be another winning streak continuation for the Blues and with another possible clean sheet. Manager ANTONIO CONTE has been very consistent with the use of his strong and high flying midfield players and wing-backs that have made sure the defence is both on the back as well as front-foot pressing for goals. This includes CESC FABREGAS, VICTOR MOSES and WILLIAN plus the CHELSEA goal-striking attacking-midfielder EDEN HAZARD.

At 33minutes in the first-half of today’s game against Stoke, would you believe it?
GARY CAHILL has scored. So it’s 1-0 CHELSEA right now and CAHILL has scored in the right goal.

Arsenal manager ARSENE WENGER speaks out about the loan system

Chelsea football club with thirty players on loan currently have been heavily criticised by the Arsenal manager this week as he spoke on the Arsenal website. WENGER says said that the whole loan system which involves players with talent not playing at their clubs at such a youthful age should be “looked at again”. ARSENE WENGER expressed that he thinks the loan system is “one of the biggest problems in the modern game”.

WENGER said: “The way a youth team is organised now is that all the best young players go to the richest clubs, which is where they have fewer chances to develop, so you have to make sure the system shares out the best young players equally.

“It’s difficult because the development of the players depends on the concentration of the good players.

“The more good players you have together, the more chance they have of becoming even better players.”

Chelsea manager ANTONIO CONTE has indeed made good use of young developed energetic players seen to have distinct talent, such us the likes of VICTOR MOSES and has been rumoured to be looking to buy more players despite having young talented players on loan. While WENGER believes there can be improvements to the loan system in the future, Chelsea who are on top as the year ends may still be looking to buy further players with money that Arsenal may not be willing to spend.

One of the highly talented players developed in his young age at Arsenal is CESC FABREGAS. After going away from  the Emirates to his homeland of Spain for a time and then trying to return to Arsenal but rejected by WENGER, FABREGAS could be a title winner at the cost of Arsenal. FABREGAS is a high flying midfielder constantly adding to the attacking new formation of ANTONIO CONTE whilst ARSENE WENGER as usual comes up to a season period where he has to consider spending money or getting players from the January possibility of loans. The loan system WENGER is not happy with can help his team as Chelsea at present are flying high despite having thirty players on loan this season.

Lampard tells Soccer AM how he would love a Blues return

This past Christmas week on Soccer AM, FRANK LAMPARD answered some quick fire questions and  expressed his love to return to Stamford Bridge. The 38-year old all-time leading goal scorer has now finished his contract after two seasons abroad in America with Major League Soccer Team New York City FC.
Even if LAMPARD is not offered a deal, he intends to still be at Chelsea first as a fan with his ‘season ticket’ and then to be involved in any way he can. The midfielder indeed has got hopes to continue as a player but also emphasises that he wants to remain at the top of his game for his family. Chelsea currently with players of youthful energetic ages and high flying midfielders of different talents may consider a LAMPARD return. This similar to his previous return after going to title rivals Manchester City may be subject to some scrutiny especially as other players already fit and in the current team are struggling to get into manager Antonio Conte’s starting line-up this season.

LAMPARD, now FRANK LAMPARD OBE after receiving his honours medal last year from Prince William at Buckingham Palace for services to football is already a Chelsea legend and is loved by fans all over the world. Since leaving Stanford Bridge he (Lampard) has played darts live on television and has spoken about his possibility of getting into football coaching and football commentary.

The Ex-Chelsea midfielder has had a fantastic career with success as well as high progress in his international football appearances for England with 105 caps. After starting a career with West Ham, LAMPARD went on to Chelsea where he scored 211 goals in 13 seasons before leaving in 2014 to join New York City FC where he also had a loan spell with Manchester City returning to the Premier League. A true living legend of Chelsea like LAMPARD has said that if he has to continue playing football it would “have to be perfect” and understands that after the age of 30 “things are different”. LAMPARD has put himself out there for the club and only time will tell if he gets his dream return.

LAMPARD says: “I feel fit and I’m fresh in mind” which some Blues’ fans will pretty much be happy to still hear whilst Chelsea is top of the table going into the New Year. He additionally expresses his view on Chelsea winning the Premier League as possible only if Chelsea “do not suffer from injuries”. A Christmas online poll on Mirror Sport has revealed that 64% of Chelsea fans voted for LAMPARD to be re-signed. If this is the wish of the fans and it is granted, the career of Chelsea’s all-time top goal scorer could see him experience yet another return to make more history in the English premier League.

JOHN OBI MIKEL can’t go on temporary loan in his last six months.

Despite the Christmas festive holiday acts of goodwill it is clear that no team in Europe or abroad will be able to receive the talented gifted Chelsea Midfielder. This is due to per FIFA regulations which do not permit a player in the final six months of a current deal to go on loan to another team. This was exclusively revealed on the Nigerian football website, OWNGOALNIGERIA.COM

The Nigerian Skipper has indeed been rumoured to be heading out of Stamford Bridge due to being left out of the team this season by new Blues Manager ANTONIO CONTE. Own Goal Nigeria claim that MIKEL has not only been ‘frozen out’ by CONTE but is now being held by FIFA and not able to go out on loan in January.

With six months left on his contract, MIKEL can only possibly leave on a permanent transfer rather than a temporary loan. He has options to go outside the Premier League and Europe as far as China where teams such as Shanghai SIPG, Hebei Fortune and Shanghai Shenhua have all shown a keen interest.

JOHN OBI MIKEL, now Chelsea’s second longest serving player an already a Chelsea current legend in the making; has been believed to be considering staying in Europe to continue his career. His family is quite a young family and he wants to remain in Europe instead of making a decision to drastically move so far as China. However, the money earned in China will indeed be much more and maybe considered to be worth the move by some. The clubs in Europe which are an option include Marseille and Inter Milan. As with other players who have gone from the Premier League to other teams in Europe, MIKEL may end up gaining further success there. Players such as FABREGAS, MOSES, LUIS and even LAMPARD have gone away to other teams and came back to Stamford Bridge. On this occasion however, while MIKEL after eleven seasons at Chelsea has still not featured asks the question whether he will consider going now with the hope to return under different circumstances similar to his fellow Nigerian team mate, VICTOR MOSES.

Oscar seems to be a reborn player since Antonio Conte took over, but part of that is attributed to the new Chelsea boss, who Oscar thanks for playing him in his right position.

As we all know, Oscar has played in the number 10 position and sometimes as a winger in the past seasons at Chelsea under various managers, but it seems his more natural and comfortable position is as a box to box midfielder.

Oscar said: “He’s [Conte] giving me a lot of confidence and I’m doing very well. Hopefully I can continue to do so,” Oscar told the London Evening Standard.”

In the last few seasons I have played as a no.10 or as a winger. Now I’m going back to my original position of No.8, attacking and defending from box to box, which is my original role and the one I like the most.

“It’s been a very successful time for me here at Chelsea. I won a lot in the last few seasons – the Premier League, League Cup and the Europa League.

“Only last season wasn’t great, not only individually, but as a team. Hopefully this season we will win trophies and get back to a winning mentality.

“The objective is not only to finish in the top four, but to fight for the League, FA Cup and League Cup because we have to win trophies.”
