The Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has decided to exclude Diego Costa from Spain’s squad for their Euro 2016 qualifying match against Luxembourg due to his recent actions.
Chelsea striker was suspended for three games by FA after his controversial behaviour in the match against Arsenal and now, he has also been omitted from Del Bosque’s plans.
The Spain coach claims, that his decision was not followed by Costa’s poor performances in La Rioja games.
Costa has been cut from the squad and is going to be replace by the young Juventus star Alvaro Morata.
Vicente del Bosque said :
“Diego Costa is part of our future plans but suspended for a match,”
“What he did was unedifying, and that is why he was punished. Of course, I didn’t like what he did.”
“He can’t play the first match and we preferred not to bring him. He is not playing badly, we’ll select him in the future if everything goes normally.”
