Bayern Munich have released a statement following their decision to sack Italian and former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti after the Bundesliga champions were trashed with a 3-0 in Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain.

Bayern are currently 3rd in their league with 13 points, 3 points behind Borussia Dortmund.

“The performances of the team since the season start did not correspond to the expectations, – said CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge – The Paris match showed clearly there needed to be consequences. Sports director Hasan Salihamidzic and myself informed Carlo today of our decision in an honest and serious discussion”.

“Carlo is a friend of mine and will remain so but we had to take a professional decision for Bayern Munich. I now expect from the team a positive development and absolute passion so that we reach our goals.”

Carlo Ancelotti won the Premier League and F.A. Cup with Chelsea in 2009/10 campaign.

Renato Sanches won’t leave Bayern Munich, according to Bundesliga giants’ manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The former Chelsea boss retracted Karl-Heinz Rummenigge’s words about the Portuguese star. Rummenigge himself said: “We can sell him on loan or on a permanent deal, I am not the manager but I believe Renato needs regular game time”.

Anyway, Ancelotti is confident that the 18-year-old will stay at Bayern Munich following his recent performances during the pre-season: “On Renato, there’s no news – Ancelotti claimed – He’s started the season with us and he’ll stay with us until the end of the transfer window, on August 31. He played well in our last game”.

It is understood AC Milan have an edge in the race to sign Renato Sanches, with also “at least 10 teams in Europe” interested in the former Benfica star. Chelsea are said to be in talks with Bayern Munich over a possible £40m move.

Bayern Munich CEO thinks Manchester United’s hopes of signing Thomas Muller will come to nothing as he expects him to stay at the Allianz Arena for the rest of his career.

Muller, who is best known to Chelsea fans for scoring against the Blues in the Champions League final 2012, and they might have had the opportunity to remind Muller of his side’s ultimate failure to win the competition that year, such has been the speculation linking him with a move to England.

Manchester United, currently in the long process of rebuilding their team after two trophyless and underwhelming seasons, earmarked Muller at the beginning of the summer as key to their plans. Reports in England and Germany have frequently said that Muller is interested in moving and that Bayern are willing to sell if the price is right.

Rummenigge, however, thinks that no such deal will be agreed and that the 25-year-old is likely to stay at the Allianz Arena indefinitely.

“I have a feeling Thomas will never leave FC Bayern,” the German legend told Bild.

“Once his playing days are over, we would like him to remain involved with the club.”
