John Terry left Chelsea after more than twenty years at the club last summer but the former Blues captain also left great memories and feelings among his team-mates.

One of these is Cesc Fabregas, who shared the dressing room with him “only” for three seasons, winning two Premier League titles.

The Spanish midfielder sent a gift to Terry, a Chelsea shirt of his, with a special message, and the former Blues captain shared it on his Instagram story:

‘Thank you for everything.  It’s been a pleasure and honour to play with you my friend.

‘My only regret is that we didn’t do it sooner. You are a legend! Love you mate!’

Today new Chelsea technical partner from this season, Nike, launched third kits for this campaign and they all look so similar.

In fact, the Blues third match shirt looks almost the same of the ones of Atletico Madrid, AS Roma, Manchester City, Inter and Barcelona.

Curious fact: Chelsea, Atletico and Roma are all in the same Champions League group.

Here you can find the picture of each of them:

Thibaut Courtois produced a solid performance yesterday vs Tottenham and the Blues fans had the chance to appreciate the Belgian goalkeeper also off the field when, at the end of the match he gave his shirt to a young boy sitting in the away end.

Then Courtois himself spoke about the game and the season for Chelsea

We played with some different players against Tottenham than we had when we won the League in May”. – Courtois said – “Eden still has to come back, Bakayoko played his first game, so physically he is not at this best but it was a very good game to start for him. We will try to work hard and maybe after the international break we will know what our full squad is. We can build on that, play an amazing year and win trophies by the end of the season.”

Chelsea revealed Alvaro Morata‘s shirt number: the Spanish striker will take number 9.

Schermata 07-2457959 alle 17.40.36

As we explained before this number is a little cursed at the Blues: it has been vacant since Radamel Falcao left the club last summer, having failed to meet expectations at Stamford Bridge while on loan from AS Monaco.

This shirt has been cursed for the last 15 years, since Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink wore it with distinction between 2000 and 2004.

Since then Mateja Kezman, Hernan Crespo, Khalid Boulahrouz, Steve Sidwell, Franco Di Santo and Fernando Torres have all struggled under its weight.

Alvaro Morata will probably wear shirt number 9, that is a cursed number at Chelsea.

Number 9 has been vacant since Radamel Falcao left the club last summer, having failed to meet expectations at Stamford Bridge while on loan from AS Monaco.

Morata is wearing  number 7 with Spain, but N’Golo Kante currently has that in possession at Chelsea.

Number 21, the one Morata had at Real Madrid, could be available since Nemanja Matic is set to leave this summer ( he didn’t even travel to Asia for the pre-season tour) but also the choice of shirt number 9 makes sense.

Diego Costa made Chelsea fans upset again by posting a video on Instagram where he was wearing an Atletico Madrid shirt and was making sarcastic comments on Blues manager Antonio Conte.

The Brazilian born star was excused from Chelsea pre-season since he broke up with Conte in the end of the past campaign: the Italian boss told him he was not in his plans anymore and Costa asked to leave the club, not hiding his desire to join back Atletico Madrid, the club where he was playing before signing for the Blues.

The Spanish forward – still under a Chelsea contract- is continuing his break in Brazil and last night he posted a live video of a party he was at in Lagarto, Brazil, on Instagram.

He then turned the camera on himself to reveal he was dancing in an Atletico Madrid shirt.

Plenty of followers on Instagram reacted to the shirt, including Chelsea team-mate Cesc Fabregas, who posted a laughing emoji at the sight of the top.

Costa then responded to his fellow Spanish international, who is gearing up for next season with the Blues, by telling him to ‘give Conte a hug’, a comment followed by a big laugh, to underline it was done in a sarcastic way.

The 28-year-old is sure to complete an Atletico Madrid return but it remains to be seen whether he can join them given the Spanish side’s current transfer embargo.

Nathan Ake in action with Chelsea last season © Francesca Ceciarini

A satisfied Nathan Ake spoke after starting in the FA Cup win against Brentford: it was the first appearance since he´s been back for the Dutch midfielder, that hailed Chelsea boss Antonio Conte in a post match interview:

“On the first day I was back he called me into his office and explained the different positions he sees me in and what he expects from me when I play there,” Ake said of Conte.

“He said that for him age doesn’t matter and I have to show him that I’m ready to be here. That’s what I do in training, I try to train hard, play well and hopefully he’ll see it.

“It was positive that he called me back from Bournemouth. That gave me confidence. You’ve seen Nathaniel [Chalobah] and Ruben [Loftus-Cheek] getting games this season so it’s good.”

Diego Costa shows his passion celebrating the winner against WBA © Francesca Ceciarini

Diego Costa revealed he was close to leave Chelsea last summer and this how his manager, Antonio Conte, reacted to this while speaking to NCB Sports:

“When Diego decided to stay, he said he wanted to fight for this club and for his shirt. I wasn’t concerned,” the Italian boss said.

“He is showing great patience in the right way, in every moment of the game. We are happy for this. He is completely focused on the game.”

A big mistake or a marketing strategy? It’s still unknown if Adidas wanted to reveal us a big market news today, but the sport brand, that is the official Chelsea equipment supplier, published a photo of the Blues shirt with Mahrez name and the number 7 printed on it.

While we try to understand why this happened, it seems that Riyad Mahrez‘s future can be far from Leicester City: after Arsenal bidding € 50m ( £ 42m) on the Algerian player now it seems the Foxes star can move to the other side of London.
