Chelsea‘s defender David Luiz believes this could be a great season for the London club.

Asked what the Blues could win, the Brazilian defender suggested Chelsea could conquer all the competitions where the team are playing: “You must see it as a great opportunity,” Luiz told the Independent “When you play for a big club and a big must play in many competitions it is an amazing opportunity. It’s better to play than to train and you keep having games. I’m a lucky guy because I always play for a big club and big clubs always try to win titles and I love that”.

David Luiz also gives a lot of credit to the Blues’ manager Maurizio Sarri for this great start of the season both for his tactical skills and his human values: “I’ve won with great teams here and I’ve lost with great teams here. I think this team is trying to improve every single day. The manager is here for three, four months now and he’s trying to improve our style of football, our philosophy. The Premier League is not easy and this is just the beginning. We must keep our feet on the ground but the results they are coming because we are working hard every single day.” David Luiz explained. “I’m so happy because Sarri is a great human. He knows how to teach us, he knows how to improve us. So when it’s like that it’s easy to understand and easy to try to be a fantastic player on the pitch. We can get better and we have to think that way. We have to work at improving every single week.”

Next season Chelsea will not take part in the Champions League and this fact could affect the chance of the Blues of signing top players during the next summer transfer window.

However, defender Cesar Azpilicueta is not worried about this issue: “Of course big players will still want to come to Chelsea because we win lots of silverware,” the Spaniard told the Evening Standard. “I have no doubt that the club will get a squad that can compete to win for trophies. I am sure that will happen.”

Everything has changed for Victor Moses in 12 months: last year the Nigerian player was sent off during the Fa Cup final vs Arsenal and Chelsea lost the game; yesterday, on the other hand, Moses himself played an important role in the Blues win over Manchester United.

I am very pleased. After what happened last year this was different and we are very pleased to win the game,” Victor Moses admitted to Chelsea official website.

Victor Moses also praised the team, their attitude in the first half, and their strenght in the second part of the game: “I thought we were tremendous. Man United kept coming at us second half. In the first half I thought we had done very well and should have scored more goals, but we kept it cool and we were very solid at the back. We know we have the ability to defend”. the Nigerian went on. “All the lads who have never won it before are very happy and we are very happy to win this FA Cup, it is very important for us.”

Football analyst Garth Crooks warned Chelsea they have only one chance of silverware this season: this chance is called FA Cup and not Premier League, as the two Manchester sides are obsessed in winning the title.

Naming Cesc Fabregas in his BBC team of the week, the English pundit claimed:

“Fabregas came back into the team [following suspension] and played like he had never been out, and scored an opening goal which oozed pure class.”

“With both Manchester clubs obsessed with the Premier League title I can see Chelsea winning the FA Cup. They are very capable of winning that but I can’t see Cesc Fabregas, or Antonio Conte for that matter, winning anything else, even with the Spaniard in this mood.”

John Obi Mikel is convinced Chelsea will win more silverware under Antonio Conte‘s management:

“I can only see Chelsea winning trophies with this guy and hopefully we can achieve that.” Mikel told Goal.

The manager knows what he wants, we are behind him, we support him as players and we have to go with him, so I think that everyone is looking forward to this season.

“It is going to be a very interesting season with the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, everyone has spent a lot of money and it is going to be very difficult. We want to be, at the end of the season, on the top and, if we can win it, why not [go for it].”

The Nigerian international also described the Italian manager’s approach to work:

“Yes, [Conte shouts a lot] in training. In games I don’t even need to say, you can see how passionate he is and how passionate he is about winning, it is just the passion he has for the game and the way he thinks that he can get his message across to the players on the pitch.

“Sometimes the manager needs to communicate with the players even when they are on the pitch, to do what he needs them to do. I have never seen anyone that passionate, but yes, he is very, very passionate about winning games.”

“Antonio is a really lovely guy. I have spoken to him a few times now and the person you see on the touchline is the person you see totally outside the football pitch, he is a nice person.

“A lovely guy to talk to and he listens to what you say. I don’t think any player has a problem telling him how they feel because I think he listens quite a lot and I think it helps that he also played football and he knows what we go through and players like to be listened to sometimes, and I think that Antonio does that really well.”

As any Chelsea fan or player Cesar Azpilicueta feels disappointed by this season but he’s motivated and positive looking to the next one:

“We have Premier League games to win and our motivation is to finish as high up the table as possible, because for Chelsea it’s not enough to be fighting in mid-table,” he said to Chelsea magazine.

“We haven’t won any trophies this season but we want to win as many games as we can and prepare to lift trophies again next season.

“I’ve been here four seasons. In two seasons, I won trophies and in two I didn’t win. So hopefully we will get back to winning trophies again next season. I think we will improve and for Chelsea the only target is to win.

“For the big clubs, if you have one bad season where you don’t win trophies, you have to bounce back. We are in a big club here and we have to fight again for trophies next season.”
