After the defeat vs Wolverhampton on Wednesday night, Chelsea have fallen 10 points behind Manchester City and the Blues will face Pep Guardiola‘s team on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.

For Maurizio Sarri‘s side another defeat can mean the end of their Premier League title’s hopes, even if Marcos Alonso believes, whatever Saturday’s result will be, it’s too early to write Chelsea’s title hopes off.

It’s too early to talk about it, obviously. If we lose we are going to be 13 points from the top and that’s a lot of points but we have to think, prepare for the game well, and not pay attention to the table at the moment”. Alonso told Sky Sports. It is the perfect opportunity to come back. It will be a great game for sure, everyone will be very motivated to play”.

Also, Marcos Alonso explained where Chelsea have to be better if they want to get a good result vs the current Premier League champions: “We have to play more as a team. It’s something we have to analyse, we will try our best to improve as soon as possible,” Alonso added. “We’re not doing very well at the moment. More individually (than) as a team, we have to get better as a collective. We had the chances to win, we were controlling the game and started the second half having a couple of chances. The last few games we were not loyal to our style of play and, even if we did not deserve it, we lose”.

According to reports by Sky SportsChelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has made a decision on the immediate future of Callum Hudson-Odoi: the Italian doesn’t think the player is ready to play regularly with the Blues, so Sarri himself has given the “go-ahead” for a loan move in the January transfer window.

The London club would like Hudson-Odoi to move to a bottom-half Premier League club and both Burnley and Southampton have shown some interest.

Eden Hazard came from the bench tonight and scored a stunner which let Chelsea defeat Liverpool and advance to the Carabao Cup fourth round.

Maurizio Sarri‘s side and Jurgen Klopp team will meet again on Saturday at Stamford Bridge and Hazard believes tonight’s win will give the Blues more confidence ahead of this game which will be more important, according to the Belgian star, than tonight’s one.

“This result will give us more confidence because we drew with West Ham four days ago”. Hazard told Sky Sports“The game on Saturday is more important. We have got to try and beat Liverpool on Saturday”.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is back at Chelsea this season after his loan spell at Crystal Palace.

The Blues’ youngster is also part of England‘s team who tonight will face Switzerland: speaking with Sky Sports, Loftus-Cheek himself reflected on his career so far: “Being 22 feels quite old, considering some of the boys were playing when they were 17 or 18. I’d like to have more appearances by now, but it’s just the way my journey has gone, and I just have to be patient with it”. Loftus-Cheek said.  “I can see it as a positive; I’m playing for England, playing well when I play, and that’s without too many appearances so it’s still raw in that sense.”

Also, during the interview, Loftus-Cheek admitted the importance of his loan spell at Crystal Palace last season: “Being at Chelsea, it’s a top club with top players,” he said. “When I’m training at 17 or 18 with the first team, it was really good for my education playing with these top players”. Chelsea midfielder went on. “I really enjoyed playing and training with them, I could feel myself getting better every day and improving, but it got to a point where training wasn’t enough and you need the exposure in the Premier League. That’s when I took the chance to go to Palace, and even when that happened, I thought I could’ve done it earlier. I started really enjoying my football, playing in the Premier League every week, and I felt the benefits. The benefit of last season at Palace [was first-team football]. I was fortunate enough to be fit for that period where it’s like a game every three days over Christmas, and I got my body used to being able to play, have a rest, then play on a Tuesday. That was massive for me and I coped with it well.”

In the last few weeks Russian midfielder Aleksandr Golovin has been linked with a move to Chelsea.

Now, however, according to reports from Sky Spots the player seems very close to a move to French side As Monaco. Golovin will sign a five-year contract.

Monaco and CSKA this afternoon finally agreed on the transfer of Golovin”. As Monaco vice president Vadim Vasilyev told Russia publication Sport Express. They really were complicated. Honestly, until the last moment I was not sure that I would be able to coordinate this transfer. Our main competitor was Chelsea. I believe Monaco offered more favourable conditions for the club and a more understandable project for Golovin.”

Olivier Giroud scored twice on Chelsea‘s win over Southampton on Saturday and the French striker believes the Blues can reach a spot in the top four of the Premier League table and reach next season’s Champions League.

As long as mathematically it is going to be possible, we are going to believe”. Giroud told Sky Sports“So we take the games one by one and we have maybe five or six finals to play. Let’s do the job and we will see what the other teams do.”

Chelsea FC will take on Southampton in the FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday as they look to try and reach the final for the second season running.

Antonio Conte will be keen for his team to end a difficult campaign on a high by lifting the FA Cup trophy after having been beaten in the final by Arsenal last year.

French striker Olivier Giroud was crucial for Chelsea‘s comeback vs Southampton in today’s Premier League game, not only because Giroud himself scored twice, but also for what the Blues player said to Hazard when he replaced Alvaro Morata.

I said when I came in, I said to Eden: ‘Come on we need to fight until the end. Keep believing!’ I didn’t tell him that we’re going to score but I did believe that the first goal we scored would put them in a bad position”. Giroud said speaking to Sky Sports. “As long as mathematically it is possible, we are going to believe. Play the games one by one and we’ve got maybe five or six finals to play. Do the job and then we see about the other teams.”
