Manchester United suffered a 0-3 win against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night, which means the Red Devils are now struggling in the middle of Premier League table with only 3 points after 3 games so far.

Speaking after the game, former Chelsea manager José Mourinho had a clash with a journalist as he called for more ‘respect’ despite United’s crushing defeat to Spurs at Old Trafford.

He said: “You want to make the miracle of my team played so well and strategically we were so, so good and you want to try and transform this press conference into ‘let’s blame the guy’… you can try. Keep trying.”

“When I win matches I come here many times and you are not happy and you say the most important is the way of playing. I need to know what is the most important thing if it is is to play well or win matches?”
“Just to finish, do you know the result? 3-0. 3-0. Do you know what this means? It also means, 3 Premierships and I won more Premierships alone than the other 19 managers together. Three for me… and two for them”.

Then, walking out of the room, Mourinho added: “Respect. Respect. Respect. Respect.”

Maurizio Sarri has also been asked if he wants to be labelled with a nickname just as José Mourinho did with “The Special One”.

The new Chelsea manager, speaking at his first press conference in Stamford Bridge, told journalists: “I would like everyone here just to call me Maurizio. Just Maurizio”.

On Mourinho: “He has won everything and I think that this is enough for a manager. Someone who has this track record does not need a description. We are talking about a world level manager. I esteem Pep, and the other managers, my style is closest to Guardiola”

And on Guardiola: Well he is a class act, he is a champion and a genius. It is difficult to explain his insights. Clearly he had some difficulties in the first year, but reaching 100 points in Premier League is extraordinary and might not be repeated. For us we need to fill in a gap. I hope last year was an occasional gap”.

About his past faux pas towards Roberto Mancini back in 2016 and an Italian journalist last season, Sarri noted:  “People make mistakes”.

“One was made when I was angry, the other was not a mistake because she was a journalist who I shared jokes with for three years, it was miscronstued. Those who know me very well, I am not homophobic/racist or sexist”.

“I do not have this type of problem and I hope to show this when I work and live here. Mistakes were made and you have to apologise and a professional attitude is needed”.

About the relationship with Roman Abramovich: “This is something where our owner is a reserved person. I don’t want to start a work relationship with him by speaking about private things. This is a private relationship and I hope this is respected, also given the characteristics of our owner”.

Former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti spoke about Josè Mourinho: “I think it is a good wedding with United because Mourinho knows the Premier League really well. He is one of the best coaches in the world and Manchester United at this moment need someone who can improve what they did in the last two years with Louis van Gaal.”

He added: “I was close  to Manchester United before I went to Real Madrid in 2013. I had the chat with Ferguson and at the end I had already given my word to Real Madrid. I have said my experience of Real Madrid is that I would like to come back to England. But I had the possibility to sign for Bayern.”

When asked about van Gaal’s experience at Old Trafford, Ancelotti replied: “There are different opinions about the job of Van Gaal, no? My opinion is that he arrived in a moment when he needed to rebuild a team after Rio Ferdinand, after Scholes, after Giggs, after Ferguson and it takes time.”
