Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is aware of next rival’s strength after losing against Slaven Bilic in the League Cup earlier in October.

The Italian manager told Chelsea’s official website: “This game against West Ham for us is very important. In the last game for sure they played their football very peacefully against us”.

“Maybe it can happen again the same against West Ham tonight – Conte added – But for this reason we are preparing for this kind of situation. It can be a really tough game”.

Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic spoke after his side’s away game against West Ham United at the Olympic Stadium.

Chelsea lost their previous London derby at White Hart Lane in January.

‘When we lost at Tottenham I think we deserved more, – Matic told the club’s official website – We competed well for 90 minutes, we played good football, and you could see straight after we forgot very quickly that result because we knew we had a done a great job before then, winning 13 in a row”.

“We had to continue to believe in our tactics, in our qualities, in our style of play, and you can see now we have many more points than the second team”.

“We have to continue with that attitude against West Ham, – the Serbia international added – We have had many days to prepare for the game and so we have been able to train very hard”.

“Personally I prefer when we play more often and the games come quickly, but we have had more time this season between games and we are used to it now”.

Then Matic ended: “We lost against West Ham earlier this season in the cup so we know it will be a tough game, but we will be ready for it”.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte had his say about the new position of Victor Moses, who got a key role in the squad following the switch to a 3-4-3 formation.

“If you asked me before the change if I imagined him in this new position, I would say not, – the Italian manager said – Because we started to try to play with the 4-2-4 and I always saw him as a winger, very good one-v-one but a bit poor defensively”,

About Moses’ wing-back position Conte added: “When I decided to change the system, I wanted to try him in this role, to work with him in a different situation, and he showed me great commitment to understand and to study the new role, above all in defensive situations. Now we have a complete player, offensively and defensively”.

Moses didn’t leave Chelsea in summer for another loan spell after spending last campaign at West Ham United under Slaven Bilic’s management.

“I realised quickly that Victor could stay with us. I spoke with him during pre-season, when we stayed in America, and told him he will stay with us. I’m happy to have have this type of player”.

“I knew him before, but to see him in person is very important to judge a player. He deserved to stay with us this season but also now he is deserving to play”.

Then Conte ended: “Victor was very, very happy when I told him he would stay. He said to me ‘I am ready to stay here, to fight for the club, I need to have my chance to show that I deserve to play with Chelsea’. It happened and we are very happy for this because he’s showing he’s a good player”.

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas hopes the Blues can maintain the mentality Antonio Conte brought back since his arrival at Stamford Bridge.

He told the club’s official website: “He’s very demanding in that he wants to win. He puts the word ‘win’ in our brain nearly every day – win, win win. Improve, improve, improve”.

“That’s a mentality we have to follow, that’s very important. – Fabregas added –In football you can be the best in the world, you can play with the best in the world, you can have played 1000 games or scored 1000 goals, but the most beautiful thing about football is that you can always improve”.

Conte himself ofter plays Nemanja Matic rather than the Spaniard, who is however fully committed to Chelsea.

“You are doing what you love. Obviously there are hard moments. Not everything is fantastic. You have to be ready for that, but there is something about the ups and downs football gives you that is the reason why we love this sport so much”.

Then Fabregas ended: “Even the difficult moments make you stronger and better. To always have the mental strength to overcome them is fantastic, and to be on top of the game for so many years, since a very young age, makes me proud”.

Manchester United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic was lucky to escape a red card against Bournemouth after elbowing defender Tyrone Mings, who previously stamped on the striker’s head.

It is understood the Swedish star will miss next FA Cup Quarter-Final against Chelsea if is charged for three games as guilty of violent conduct.

Mourinho claimed after the game: “The referee was there. If you asked me if I am going to be happy if Mings gets a three, four, five match ban, I really don’t care about it,”

“He knows what he did. He knows better than anyone. He knows better than the referee the intention or the moment or the emotion of the moment”.

PETR CECH ARSENAL

Former Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech told BBC Sport that Arsenal have no chances to challenge the Blues in the title race this season after losing 3-1 against Liverpool at Anfield.

The Gunners now can only focus on a top four finish, according to the Czech Republic star.

“We were more aggressive after the break and started winning the 50-50 battles – he said – It’s disappointing when you lose the game, but more disappointing conceding the first two goals because we weren’t in danger.

“With three points we would have been in the chase for the title, but now we’re too far.

Then Cech added: “We need to ensure that we finish as high as possible and in the top four.”

Chelsea’s Victor Moses spent last season on loan at West Ham United, which means that the Nigerian star knows secrets and abilities of Slaven Bilic.

“Slaven is a good manager, he’s very passionate about his job, a lot like Antonio Conte, – he told the club’s official website – You notice the manager [Conte], he’s constantly talking and making sure you’re in the right position and doing the right thing. It’s good to have a manager like that and he gives you so much confidence to go out there and express yourself”.

When asked about his experience and new key role under manager Antonio Conte, Moses added: “I think this is the best football I’ve played in my career and to be doing it at a big club like Chelsea makes it mean even more,’ says the man who signed an extension to his contract this week”.

“I still feel like I’m improving and just want to keep learning more about the position and keep improving. Every game I play I feel more comfortable and have more belief in myself”.

“I’m pleased to be scoring more goals this season but I think there are still more I could get. There will always be chances, and I think I can get more”.

About his spell at West Ham in 2015/16 campaign: “My year at West Ham was good, – Moses added – I did okay, but it’s all about Chelsea now and I’m fully concentrated. Hopefully we can go there on Monday and get three points”.

Chelsea need to beat the Hammers as they want to maintain a huge gap at the top of Premier League table, and Moses is confident about this: “We work extremely hard and we’ll be fully prepared, we’re all very fit this season and the manager always makes sure we are doing the right things and eating the right things. Winning games is good for us”.

The Italian manager is confident that his side can produce a good performance against the Hammers: “I hope so because the result wasn’t good for us and we want to try to take three points, – Conte said – It will be a difficult game. We all know the difficulty of derbies but we are preparing very well for this game, in the right way with great commitment and focus”.

For sure it will be a tough game and also we will know the results of the other teams so there will be positive or negative pressure. But we are ready to play this game and try to do better than last time”.

About Andy Carroll, who is still a serious doubt for the clash, he added: “Andy Carroll is a really good player, very strong physically and we must pay great attention, but we must pay attention to the whole West Ham team because in the League Cup they beat us”.

Then Conte ended: “We are preparing different solutions to limit the strengths of our opponent but it’s important for us to play our idea of football, bring our philosophy, try to play, score, defend very well and play with high intensity”.

Angelo Ogbonna underwent knee surgery last week while Diafra Sakho is ruled out until April.

Also attacking-midfielder Gokhan Tore won’t feature against Chelsea after suffering a serious knee injury.

Here’s West Ham United predicted XI: Adriàn, Kouyate, Fonte, Reid, Cresswell, Noble, Obiang, Feghouli, Snodgrass, Lanzini, Ayew.

Frank Lampard admitted he’s a great fan of Antonio Conte after the Chelsea boss won his first Premier League Manager of the Year prize at the London Football Awards last night.

When asked whether Chelsea manager Antonio Conte could build a dynasty at Stamford Bridge, the English star told Standard Sport: “He has definitely got the attributes, so you would look at him now and say yes — but who knows what the future holds?”

“It depends on how he feels, how the club feels and how the future pans out. I am very happy with him and if he carries on the way he is, he will stay there for a long time”.

“We hope that will happen. What he is doing at the moment is fantastic. It is very hard to look too far forward in football, but what he is doing is a great thing for the club because last year there was a lot of negative talk and he changed that very quickly. Long may it continue”.

Chelsea are leading the Premier League table with 63 points so far, 10 points clear at the top.

“I don’t like to tempt fate because I am a Chelsea man, – Lampard added – But I can’t see them being caught with the gap they have and the way they are playing.”

About the Blues’ last disappointing season, he ended: “They were obviously relaxed after winning the league previously. The minute you relax in football, whether as an individual or as a team, you really feel it, especially in the Premier League now”.

“Last year was a perfect storm in a negative way, where players backed off and when you get bad results, that can become a bit of a feeling around the squad. That had to go. But what I didn’t imagine, was that the reaction would be so good. I expected them to challenge, to be in the top four, I didn’t expect them to go so far clear and that is credit to the club.”
