Kurt Zouma has today joined Everton Football Club on a season-long loan from  Chelsea.

A deal had been agreed by both clubs before 7PM deadline and was eventually confirmed earlier this afternoon.

The Toffees have now completed four siginings on Deadline Day after Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes and Bernard joined the club on the last day of the transfer market window.

Zouma, who joined Chelsea from Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne back in 2014, has enjoyed a successful loan-spell at Stoke City collecting 34 appearances in the 2017/18 season despite the Potters were eventually relegated.

Stoke City defender and Chelsea loanee Kurt Zouma has confirmed, speaking in an exclusive interview with Standard Sport, he’s “happy with the loan move” after signing a new five-year deal with the 2016/17 Premier League champions.

The Frenchman said: “I came here to play and I did it. I did not think about my future at Chelsea, especially not at the moment. If I know I’m still in the Premier League with Stoke, then I will see about the future. But not now”.

Then he confirmed: “I’m just focused on my team and try and keep them in the Premier League and win games – that’s the most important thing. That’s the most that I want. It doesn’t matter about the rest at the moment.”

Stoke City are struggling in the battle to avoid relegation as Swansea remain 5 points above in 17th place, with only 4 games remaining. And the Potters will be facing Burnley next week on Sunday, just a few days after the Clarets’ clash against Chelsea (Thursday 19th April, Turf Moor, Kick-Off: 7.45PM BST).

Southampton boss Mark Hughes welcomes Chelsea to St Mary’s Stadium on Saturday and, win or lose, he will make his mark.

If the former Blues striker secures a first top-flight win since being in charge at Saints, he will become only the third manager to beat the Stamford Bridge side in the Premier League with four different clubs.

Hughes has obtained victories over Chelsea, for whom he made 95 Premier League appearances, when he was in charge of Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City and Stoke City.

The other managers to achieve this were Sam Allardyce and Roy Hodgson.

Hodgson secured victories over Chelsea when manager of Blackburn, Liverpool, WBA and Crystal Palace while Allardyce overcame the Blues when in charge of Bolton, West Ham, Sunderland and Palace.

Should Hughes lose against Chelsea another little record will be set: it would be the third time that Hughes would have been beaten by Chelsea this season, having suffered two defeats while in charge of Stoke City.

Only one other manager has suffered three defeats at the hands of the same opponents in one season: Graeme Souness lost three times to Arsenal as manager of Blackburn and Newcastle United.

Manchester City remain unstoppable at the top of Premier League table after beating Stoke City at Bet365 Stadium tonight. David Silva scored a brace to secure the fourth Premier League win in a row.

Chelsea remain 5th in the standings ahead of their trip to Barcelona and FA Cup Quarter Final against Leicester City. Then Antonio Conte‘s men will face Tottenham Hotspur, who are currently enjoying a 3rd position with 61 points. Harry Kane suffered a serious ankle injury, which could keep him nearly two months out.

Stoke City have sacked manager Mark Hughes following the really slow start to the season so far (just two wins in the last twelve Premier League games) and tonight’s FA Cup third-round defeat against League Two side Coventry City.

Hughes himself said after the game: “It is disappointing because it is the same things happening week in week out, and it isn’t down to the fact that we aren’t trying to rectify them”.

An official statement from the club read: “Stoke City can confirm that the contract of manager Mark Hughes has been terminated with immediate effect”.

Drinkwater, Pedro and Willian were among the goalscorers in Chelsea‘s dominant victory over Stoke City at Stamford Bridge today. Also Blues’ manager Antonio Conte underlined the importance of key players ready to make an impact when brought into the side, as squad rotation continues.

“I’m very happy because today I had a good response from all of my players. – he said – I made rotation and when you have this kind of response you must be pleased and know you are working well with the players who play regularly and those who don’t”.

The Italian manager also praised Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, who failed to score a goal today on account of brilliant saves from Stoke City’s goalkeeper Jack Butland.

“It was a pity because for strikers it’s always very important to score, – Conte reckons – But I’m more worried when our striker doesn’t have opportunities or chances. In this case Alvaro did well to stay in the right place. In the away game against Stoke he scored a hat-trick, buy it’s very important for me to see my players having the chance to score”.

Chelsea sealed a 5-0 win over Stoke City with goals from Toni Rudiger, Danny Drinkwater, Pedro, Willian and Davide Zappacosta at Stamford Bridge today. Antonio Conte had his say, speaking at a press conference, about the game: “I think our performance was very positive, we started the game very well with great desire to score early because, as I’ve said before, in this type of game if you score early it can become easier because your opponent has to change their plan”.

“We started very well and we wanted that. I’m very pleased with the performance of all my players and to finish with another clean sheet. We are showing good solidity. If you compare this season with last season, we’ve conceded less goals but we’ve scored less”.

Then Conte added: “We have to continue to work very hard to improve but to finish this year in this way is great for me, the club and the fans. It was a fantastic year for us because to win the title in England is not simple. To be able to do this with your first chance, I will remember this year forever”.

Chelsea finish their 2017 with a super win and display against Stoke City: 5 goals to please the fans who came at Stamford Bridge for the last match of the year.

The Blues immediately took the lead with Rudiger, who scored with a header after 3′, then Danny Drinkwater sealed the score on 2-0 with a fine volley at 9′.

Mid-way in the first half and Pedro put his name on the score-board with a great shot from the box limit (23′).

The Blues seemed more relaxed in the second half, trying to control the game: the only risk was when Berahino dribbled past Cahill and failed to beat Courtois, who saved a goal that could have give confidence for a come-back to the Potters.

Morata then failed the chance to score the 4-0 shooting on Butland ( 61′) and was promptly replaced by Batshuayi.

It was Willian to net the 4-0 ball, anyway, with a penalty lavishly conceded by referee Kevin Friend at 73′.

Davide Zappacosta, who entered in the beginning of the second half for Moses, sealed the score on 5-0 at 88′.

Chelsea are currently second in the table with 45 points, 13 less than Manchester City ( 58) 2 more than Manchester United ( 43) but the two Manchester sides still have a game on hand to be played in this fixture ( against Southampton and Palace).
