After a difficult first part of the season at Chelsea, Michy Batshuayi‘s performances were impressive during his loan at Borussia Dortmund.

The striker scored 10 goals and now he wants to earn a place in Belgium‘s squad before making his choice for next season between the two clubs:

I don’t have a preference; they’re two beautiful clubs. My focus is on the World Cup right now and I don’t want to think about what happens afterwards.” Batshuayi said.

What is for sure is that the Belgian striker during his loan in Bundesliga regained confidence in his skills:

Dortmund was a great experience for me,” Batshuayi explained. “They welcomed me very warmly. I was in a good environment and you could see that on the pitch. It was a while since I had played so much. I can’t remember being allowed to play two games in a row at Chelsea. It was good to gain confidence”.

Yesterday Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata and his agent met Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici so many interpreted this meeting as the first step for a possible return of the Spanish player to the Italian champions.

However, today, Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta denied the club is interested in Morata: “These are simply rumours. I want to deny them, we don’t want to deceive anyone”. Marotta said during the launch of a book about Juventus. “We already have a great attack of international calibre, so it’s an area where we don’t have to make any bets. Therefore, at this point, any operation seems totally utopian”.

Giuseppe Marotta also claimed there’s the chance Morata himself would love to play again for Juventus as he remembers the time he spent with the “Bianconeri”: Now we are in the most important phase of the transfer market, so as always, every day, they link Juventus with many players,” Marotta went on. “That also applies to the Morata affair which is on the agenda today. The fact is that the most important players of this Agnelli cycle who have gone away all carry with them a great memory of Juventus, and almost all of them want to savour the Juventus climate”.

Antonio Conte‘s future at Chelsea is very uncertain and this may have been affecting the performances of the Blues this season.

For this reason, former Chelsea defender Mario Melchiot  believes the decision on the name of the new Blues manager must arrive very early once this season is over: “They bring them (managers) in and out, but I don’t think before the FA Cup (final) you want to make any decision – it won’t help the team,” Melchiot told talkSPORT. “But it definitely has to be pretty soon to tell what’s going on with the future of the club and so the players know where they are standing”.

Melchiot also claimed the uncertainty over the new manager could also possibly affect the Blues’ summer transfer window. “You don’t want to leave an uncertainty – I don’t think that’s great and I feel they have been doing it for quite a long time”. Melchiot went on. “They’ve got to fix that because it’s not good. I would not want to be part of a team where there’s no security over what’s happening next season because that will always be playing on your mind.”

Chelsea legend Marcel Desailly believes the London club can think about selling Eden Hazard in the next summer transfer window and use the money to buy at least three players useful for the team.

[Roman] Abramovich is passionate and he will be disappointed [at missing out on Champions League] but they will still be able to get some good players. If tomorrow you sell Hazard, you can sign another three players who can step up.” Desailly told the Daily Mail. “And Willian, for example, is brilliant but he’s just one of those players. He can lift his level and bring a new dimension and become another first-class player.”

On the other hand, the former Chelsea defender claimed Antonio Conte must stay at Stamford Bridge: “What was working last season with Conte cannot suddenly not work this season. Before they’ve changed the coach, and kept the players. This time they should keep the coach and look to move four to five players on”.
