Chelsea disabled youngsters took third place in the International Swiss Under-16 Cup Special Needs Tournament.

Youngsters from the Chelsea Foundation disability programme went to Switzerland and Liechtenstein to take part in the International Swiss Under-16 Cup Special Needs Tournament.

The tournament has been organized since 2011 and is coordinated by Football is More Foundation. This year’s edition was attended by six teams : Southampton, SV Werder Bremen and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim plus two local teams from Switzerland.

Youngsters from the Chelsea Foundation finished the competition on the third place. After the tournament, their coach Phil Moody said:

‘‘The event was such a great experience for all involved, coaches and players.”

‘‘The teamwork and skill level of all players involved was fantastic to see. Over the whole weekend the team only lost two matches, but all the players were winners from the moment they stepped onto the football pitch during the opening ceremony.”

‘‘Overall I feel it was a great experience for all players and coaches involved and a fantastic way to celebrate the work being done by the club.’’
