Tiémoué Bakayoko

AC Milan wanted to cancel Tiemoué Bakayoko‘s loan next January due to his poor performances in this start of the season but recently the Italian club changed his mind.

The 24-year-old improved in his playing but, furthermore, the Rossoneri suffered a lot long-term injuries in the past weeks and cannot reduce their squad anymore.

Giacomo Bonaventura underwent a knee-surgery yesterday and will come back next season, Argentine international Lucas Biglia will be out for 4 months and Calahnoglu is a doubt for the next games for an old foot issue.

All the starting defenders are out as well ( Caldara for 3 months, Musacchio for 2, Romagnoli for 1 and Calabria is a doubt for the next games).

Because of this difficult situation and Bakayoko’s improvements in Serie A the Italian side decided to keep him for the rest of the season.

Last week some rumours circulated about a possible return of midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko to Chelsea in January after the London club have sent him to play for Ac Milan on a season-long loan.

Speaking to SportWitness however, Bakayoko’s agent Federico Pastorello strongly denied these rumours: “Bakayoko is happy in Milan and Milan are happy with him. It was known he would need a bit of time, but everyone is convinced he can contribute a lot to their season”. Pastorello said. “All this chatter about a return to Chelsea in January is completely unfounded.”

Tiemoue Bakayoko will play next season with AC Milan as he looks set to sign for the Serie A giants on loan with option to make the move permanent for £35.6m at the end of 2018/19 campaign.

The Frenchman has travelled to Italy yesterday and is currently undergoing his medical with the Rossoneri.

Bakayoko, who joined Chelsea from AS Monaco on a £40m move last summer, failed to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.

It has been reported AC Milan head-coach Gennaro Gattuso firmly promoted the signing of the 23-year-old.

Talks between AC Milan representatives and Tiemoue Bakayoko‘s brother are currently ongoing as a move to the Serie A side edge closer for the Chelsea midfielder, according to Sky in Italy.

The Frenchman, who joined the Blues from AS Monaco on a £40m move last summer, could reportedly join AC Milan on a season-long loan with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of 2018/19 campaign.

Bakayoko featured in the International Champions Cup clash between Chelsea and Olympique Lyon at Stamford Bridge last night, playing the whole first half alongside with Danny Drinkwater and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Chelsea are on the verge of completing the signing of Mateo Kovacic as a part of the deal which will land Thibaut Courtois to Santiago Bernabeu.

The Croatia international midfielder is said to be set for his medical at Cobham ahead of a loan move with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the upcoming season.

Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is willing to join La Liga giants Seville on a season-long loan with a possible option to make the deal permanent, according to Estadio Deportivo.

The Spanish publication reports Seville are set to pay the Frenchman 2.5m€ in wages per-year tops.

Bakayoko, who joined Chelsea from AS Monaco last summer on a five-year contract, has reportedly asked to leave the club on loan to get more game time next season.

Tiemoue Bakayoko struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge last season after joining the Blues from AS Monaco on a £35m move in July.

The 23-year-old told Chelsea’s official website: “During the summer I worked a lot because last season I didn’t have a pre-season, and I feel good for preparing for this season”.

“I don’t have pain in my knee, I am feeling very fit, and I hope to keep going like this and do a better season than the last one”.

Bakayoko added: “I am happy to be here, to be in the best club for me in the world.”

Tiemoue Bakayoko has recently returned to training after suffering an injury which kept him out for several weeks. And Chelsea manager Antonio Conte believes the Frenchman has spent injury spell learning from his poor performance showed against Watford in February.

Conte told journalists: “If I have to see a positive aspect about his injury because he had a lot of time to metabolise the bad performance against Watford. Now he’s training with us for a week. His physical condition is not bad. But don’t forget that Baka is only 22 years old. He’s a really young player”.

“This season, I think we are paying a bit for a lack of experience of many players. About Baka, he has the right personality to become an important player for Chelsea. I hope in the present but, for sure, in the future”.

Then he added: “We are working with him in the same way that we are working with the strikers, with [Andreas] Christensen, with every single player. Yes, for sure I trust Bakayoko. Only because, don’t forget, in the squad there are four midfielders. I must trust in my players. I have to continue to insist and trust.”

In his press conference ahead of Sunday’s Premier League game vs Manchester City, the Blues manager Antonio Conte revealed Ross Barkley will be part of the team who will travel to Manchester.

Ross Barkley trained with us this week and now he’s recovered from his injury,” Conte told reporters. “He will come with us and then I will decide if I find a place on the bench for him, or if he will be in the stand for another week.”

However, David Luiz, Ethan Ampadu and Tiemoue Bakayoko are injured and they will miss the big match vs Pep Guardiola‘s side.

Another humiliation for Chelsea tonight, with a heavy 4-1 defeat at Watford.

The Hornets deserved the 3 points after a brilliant performance against an unrecognisible Chelsea.

The Blues didn’t start well but somehow tried to control the game and created chances, the best one for Willian that after 12′ shot wide from a good position.

Antonio Conte‘s lads didn’t impress in the first 30 minutes of the game, but things got worse after Tiemoué Bakayoko got booked twice in only five minutes and was sent off.

Willian, one of the best men on the pitch until that moment, was replaced by Cesc Fabregas in order to give more consistence to the Chelsea midifield.

After ten minutes, Thibaut Courtois committed penalty on Gerard Deulofeu, being lucky not to get a red card as well, and captain Troy Deeney gave the lead to the Hornets.

Chelsea tried to react in the beginning of the first half, but however it were Watford that were more dangeours, with Deulofeu and Richarlison going close to score around 60′.

At the first real shot on goal of their game, Chelsea equalised with Eden Hazard at 82′.

Only two minutes after Daryl Janmaat gave the lead to Watford again taking advantage of awful defence by the Blues.

Three minutes later, at 87′, Gerard Deulofeu crowned his super performance with a great goal, that sealed the game.

During injury time Roberto Pereyra found the net again for the Hornets, giving Chelsea another humiliation after last week’s defeat against Bournemouth.

This is the Blues’ first ever defeat at Watford since 1999.

In this moment Antonio Conte’s side still sit fourth in the table with 50 points, only 1 more than Spurs ( 49) behind Manchester City ( 69) Manchester United (56) and Liverpool 51.

Now the question is if, after this new year’s bad run, Roman Abramovich will lose his patience again and will give Conte the boot.
