Chelsea have recently shown interest in Portugal and Sporting Lisbon star midfielder Joao Mario after an impressive display at Euro 2016 in France.

However, the President of Sporting LisbonBruno de Carvalho, has told O Jogo that Mario is not for sale and Sporting Lisbon are not a club that intends to sell their best players.

“Of course there are some players that people want, but nothing has changed compared to what I said in several occasions.

“Sporting is not a club that intends to sell. We have a well-defined project. We’re hoping everyone will be available for the coach to start his training in one week.

“For our own part, nothing has changed, we knew these were great players and now the other clubs have figured it out too. This is something that makes us proud, not worried.”

Barcelona are looking to offload Arda Turan this summer after a disappointing first season with the Spanish giants.

He joined Barcelona last year from La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid for around £29m. However, Barcelona are willing to take a loss on the Turkish international and sell him on for £23m.

Chelsea and Arsenal are leading race to sign the bearded midfielder, despite his agent claiming he is happy at the club.

His agent spoke to Turkish-football.com and said that the interest is normal but he won’t be leaving this summer.

“The interest [in Arda] is normal but the rumours saying he is leaving Barcelona are false, he is happy at the club.”

According to AS, Chelsea forward Diego Costa is still wanting a move back to Atletico Madrid, the club he left for Chelsea 2014.

The report claims that Chelsea are fully aware of Costa‘s desire to leave Stamford Bridge but have rejected an offer from Atletico.

It is understood that Antonio Conte has tried to persuade Costa to remain in London, despite having high praise for new striker Michy Batsuayi.

Diego Costa still remains as Atletico‘s number one target and it is believed that the Spanish club will make another offer before the transfer window closes this summer.

Reading FC have completed the signing of young midfielder John Swift .

The 21-year-old free agent, whose contract with Chelsea came to an end this summer, has penned a three-year contract with Royals.He has a one-year option to extend his contract too.

The midfielder leaves Chelsea after nine years at the club.

Reading boss Jaap Stam said: “John is a very talented player. I’ve seen him play and I think he could be very important in the way we want to play.”

Chelsea managed to acquire the signature of Antonio Conte this summer, despite him having commitments with Italy at the European Championship.

Conte was due to speak at his first press conference as Chelsea boss after their first game of the pre-season in Austria. However, Chelsea have moved the conference forward and he will now be speaking on Thursday afternoon.

The conference will no doubt be filled with the usual talk and formalities but with Conte‘s passion and overwhelming presence, it will certainly be worth watching.

Chelsea are stepping up their efforts to sign Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante now that Euro 2016 is over, according to multiple reports in the British media.

Shanghai SIPG have submitted an offer of £35m but the player is not keen on a move to China, according to the Daily Mail.

Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in Kante has reportedly cooled since they replaced Laurent Blanc with Unai Emery, and Chelsea will be encouraged that the 25-year-old has his heart set on a move to Stamford Bridge after rejecting the offer of a new contract from Leicester City, according to the Telegraph.

Chelsea are hoping to sign Lazio winger Felipe Anderson for the next season, according to reports in La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Brazilian failed to attend the Lazio’s summer training camp as he wants to take part in next month’s Olympics in his Brazil.

However, the Italian sports daily also claims the player’s failure to link up with his team-mates is due to the Chelsea’s interest in him.

His ownership is currently esteemed around £32m and the Brazilian attacking midfielder has been heavily linked also with a move to Manchester United in January.

Chelsea have made a late bid for Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel.

The Belgian international has been linked with a move away from Russia for quite some time now and a move to Merseyside this summer looked on the cards with both Liverpool and Everton showing interest.

However, Chelsea are ready to make an offer for Witsel and add him to the team that Conte is hoping will make waves in the Premier League next season.

Witsel is currently on holiday after competing in France this summer for Belgium but it is thought that he will want to make a decision regarding his future sooner rather than later.

Chelsea are attempting to add depth to the defensive department. Recently, the Blues have been pursuing Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.

Report from the Daily Mail suggest that the London based club have had a bid in the region of £19.2m rejected by the Italian side, with them supposedly holding out for £30m.

Koulibaly himself admits he would be happy to remain in Italy but if he is to leave, he would like it to be arranged sooner rather than later.

“I have not talked to [Antonio Conte] but that may be soon. The game in England could be suitable for me but I like Italy. I do not press for a transfer but I hope to sign a renewal with Napoli or we proceed to other solutions.”

Borussia Monchengladbach are looking to sign Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen on a permanent deal.

The 20-year-old has been on-loan at the German side for  1 year as part of a 2-year deal.

Gladbach‘s sporting director Max Eberi told German website Sport Bild that he is willing to break the clubs transfer record to make the deal happen.

“We only give the money out, which we did.

“But in the case of Christensen we are ready to make a record transfer – we know that a player with his quality is not cheap.”
