After training this morning at Cobham, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte and some players paid their annual visit to the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital which is very close to Stamford Bridge.

The players handed out some presents, signed autographs and posed for a lot of pictures making happy especially the children who are now forced to stay at the hospital.

It’s something all of the players look forward to every year because it’s nice for us to see the kids” – Eden Hazard told Chelsea official website – . They are always very happy when we arrive and you can see the excitement on their faces. We handed out some Chelsea presents and had photos taken with the kids so if we can spread some happiness, especially at this time of year, that’s fantastic. We go to the hospital every year and it’s very important for us to be able to give something back.”

Rumours of Eden Hazard moving to Real Madrid ran all the week, especially yesterday, when a Spanish journalist claimed the Belgian star already signed a pre-agreement with the Blancos and even that the Chelsea player visited Valdebebas, the Real Madrid training ground, to meet Florentino Perez back in February.

When during today’s press conference Conte was asked about this, he said:

“Now it’s important to be focused on the present,  we don’t have to look too far forward, Eden is our player, we aee happy with him, he’s happy with us, I don’t see problems about him.

“I think that this is a part of our game, that other people report these rumours to influence player’s minds, but I think we have experience, also my players got experience, it’s logical in this part of the season rumours about our players start, I am very happy because it means we are doing a great job and my players are doing very well.

“I don’t see any problem about our players, we all know we are in a great club with great ambition, there is a great will to do great things in the future, don’t forget there are some games to play, we hope to finish the season with great success for us.

“I think it’s positive, when another top team wants your players it means you are doing a very good job, but I repeat, I think that now we are already in a great club, with great ambition, they want to do something important, for the present and the future, I think we just started our path.”

According to Spanish journalist Fran Nicolás from RadioSet Chelsea star Eden Hazard already signed a pre-agreement with Real Madrid, a rumour confirmed also by Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

Nicolás claims that the Belgian player visited Valdebebas, the Merengues training ground, in February to meet Real Madrid chairman Florentino Perez, and then he signed a pre-contract with the current Champions of Europe.

If the rumour revealed by the Spanish journalist is true, Hazard did something not legal, as FIFA regulations clearly express that a player cannot negotiate with another team without the express authorization of his original club.

Eden Hazard revealed that he’s really settled in London, a city loved also by his family, and it’s a news from today that Chelsea are keen to give him a new £ 300,000-a-week-contract, a way to convince him to stay at Stamford Bridge and reject Real Madrid’s proposal.

The Blancos are ready to splash at least € 115m ( £99m) on the Belgian top player, but they’ll struggle with Chelsea’s will to keep him.

Chelsea and Guus Hiddink revealed that Blues legend Frank Lampard spent a short time at Cobham some weeks ago.

The current New York City FC midfielder was in London and had to recover from a small injury, so he asked for help to his former club:

“In a recent period he was here when he had his injury,” says Hiddink.

“Modestly, he asked if he can be treated here by our physios and I said of course. It was a good sign that he was asking me: he’s a legend and I’m just here for a few months!

“He wanted to be here out of the hours that the other players are here, early morning or late afternoon, but I said: ‘No, you are one of this family’. He loved it, to come in the day, and he participated in a very modest, very good way in the team. If those players don’t have the affection with the club then they don’t come back even for treatment.”

Hiddink coached Lampard in his first spell at Chelsea in 2009 and according to him it was good having him at Cobham, also to create a special feeling for the new and youngest players of the squad:

“You can make them aware of who Lampard was at this club, but within a few meetings or whatever Lampard likes to do they can learn a lot. They must grow to independence in their own way as well, but they can accelerate their career by having a very good eye and ear on the career of those big guys.”

Finally, Hiddink reveals his feeling at the end of his second spell at the club:

‘”It’s too easy to say, but enjoy it,’ he added. ‘Being at a big club you have all the effort and the stress and the pressure, but deal with that and enjoy it and enjoy the Premier League, because this is one of the most beautiful leagues to work in.”

Two of most important rugby coaches Eddie Jones and Steve Borthwick visited Chelsea training ground at Cobham for a day of information-sharing at the elite level of professional sport.

Jones was Grand Slam-winning England rugby union coach and Borthwick  the team’s forwards coach. The first one was also a guest at last weekend game against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

“It is fantastic to come to Chelsea, which is one of the greatest clubs in the world of football,” Jones told the official Chelsea website.

“Guus Hiddink has had a great career and the chance to exchange ideas with him is enormously valuable. I have made an attempt to keep improving myself as a coach and you can only improve by meeting with coaches who are better than you.”

Antonio Conte made a surprise visit yesterday travelling to Cobham training ground along with Chelsea sporting director Michaeal Emenalo.

The Italian manager wanted to meet the players and he was supposed to have watched to training.

Conte will have to make important decisions on the squad next summer, in fact some players are not sure to stay: Eden Hazard has got offers from PSG and Real Madrid and with Chelsea not taking part to next Champions League a huge income from his sale would be great for FFP, so the club could invest some more money to revamp the squad.

Thibaut Courtois is in a similar situation and after what he said last week a move from him wouldn’t be so strange. He has been targeted by Real Madrid and PSG too.

Diego Costa is wanted by Atletico Madrid, who dream about his return, but the Colchoneros chairman stated that his a tough negotiation and Conte would like to keep him.

John Terry still doesn’t know if he will remain or not, and he is in talks with the board. Conte would like to keep him too to have a leader in the dressing room to help him with his delicate job.

Nemanja Matic is set to leave after he got a small playing time in this season, especially after Guus Hiddink took charge, so the Conte had to decide on his future too since Chelsea invested £ 25m two years ago to bring him back from Benfica, an effort that was in part repaid last season where Matic was fundamental in the title race with impressive performances on Fabregas‘ side.

Chelsea also got interesting youngsters like Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Bertrand Traore, Jake Clarke-Salter or Kenedy and, of course, Conte want to realise if they are really ready to be part of the first team squad for next year.

It won’t be an easy job for the Italian manager, that’s why he’s starting to work now for next season: he wants to bring Chelsea back to glory, as he did with Juventus four years ago.

Cech left Chelsea last summer after eleven years and many trohpies

Guus Hiddink revealed in his pre Arsenal press conference that Chelsea legend Petr Cech paid a visit to Cobham, the Blues training ground, a couple of days ago.

The goalkeeper was not trying to get a new deal by his former club or to destabilise them before Sunday’s clash at the Emirates Stadium.

He had just to go to Cobham to collect his new gloves that his technical sponsor, Adidas, sent by mistake to Chelsea’s training ground instead that to the Arsenal one in St. Albans:

“Petr [Cech] showed up here yesterday afternoon or the other afternoon and it was nice, we had a chat.

“Almost everyone was gone. We tried to hide them, also we tried to make them slippery but he discovered that,” joked Hiddink.

“They were sent here and we gave them back. That’s the story.
