Nemanja Matic has ensured Chelsea’s rivals, that their ace Eden Hazard is back in his best form.

The Belgium international scored his 50th goal for the Blues during Saturday’s clash against Arsenal. Chelsea won 2-0 at Stamford Bridge with goals from Kurt Zouma and Eden Hazard.

But Matic has no doubt, that this is just the beggining for Hazard. Chelsea midfielder told London Evening Standard:

“It’s a big goal for Eden”

“He needs to score goals for his confidence and to be on his top level. He is very important for our team. I am very happy he scored his first goal and I hope it gives him more self-belief.”

“He needs to know that he is the best player in the Premier League and use his qualities. When he scored it was an important moment in the season for him.”

”In two games we scored six goals and didn’t concede,”

“That’s very important for confidence and for team spirit.”

Ruben Loftus-Cheek in action against Liverpool

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has told Ruben Loftus-Cheek to up his game following a disappointing display against Sydney FC.

The 19-year old played just 28 minutes before being substituted at the ANZ Stadium, and now his manager Mourinho has said his relationship with the young midfielder has taken “a step back.”

“So, with Ruben, it’s one step back in terms of my relationship with him. If he doesn’t know what it is to play for me and Chelsea it’s one step back,” Mourinho said.

“He has to learn that at 19 you have to run three times more than the others, you have to play to your limits and not play like a superstar with the ball at your feet because this is not Under-18s.”

Loftus-Cheek, an academy product who has won the FA Youth Cup and the UEFA Youth Club with the Young Blues, made his first-team debut against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on the 10th May. He made 27 passes, and retained a 100% pass completion rate before he was substituted after an hour.

But, despite Loftus Cheek’s good opening impression, Mourinho said that his recent performance was a poor one – and that he will need to improve to have any chance of cementing a place in his starting XI:

“The Under-18 competition is too easy for him. He’s too good to play in the Under-18s but I don’t accept that when he’s playing in midfield with Mikel and Matic when we don’t have the ball he doesn’t press, doesn’t have intensity and he’s waiting for everybody else to recover the ball.

“I don’t accept that in the superstars so how can I accept that in a kid? He has to learn what it takes to play for us.”

Next Sunday Chelsea will face QPR at Loftus Road, in a derby whose hostility is felt very much one-way from QPR’s direction toward the Blues, that are seen like “the more successful neighbours”.

QPR Joey Barton took the chance to warn Chelsea stating it will be a difficult game for both sides but they got one advantage, most of the pressure is on the Blues, and this can help, them to get a shocking result:

“They have the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal on their minds because that’s the kind of company they keep. But for us it’s huge because of the predicament we’re in”

They are champions elect, but we saw what can happen with Crystal Palace the other night against Manchester City

Chelsea have a healthy lead at the top of the table. If they fancy giving us three points we’ll gladly take them

Barton was already at QPR when the The Hoops in 2011 punished Chelsea’s complacency at Loftus Road with a shocking 1-0 victory:

“That was four years ago so not many of the players here now were involved. It’s going to be difficult but it’s just the next game”

“Everyone expects us to get turned over so it’s quite nice, the pressure is off us. Chelsea are a fantastic side, but they should be when you’re spending 15 gazillion pounds in the transfer window

They will win the League this year, I can’t see anyone catching them now with the Mourinho factor

Their season will just about be considered a success because they will win the League but their biggest disappointment is they got eliminated from the Champions League so easily”
