Starting XI:

Courtois 5- Made the saves he had to, but couldn’t do anything about the goals scored against him.

Azpilicueta 4- At fault for the vital second goal, allowing Di Maria in behind to pick out Zlatan.

Ivanovic 5- Solid performance from the Serbian strong in the air and looks more comfortable at centre back then at right back.

Cahill 4- Majorly at fault for the first goal allowing Zlatan space out wide right to easily pick out his man Rabiot in the middle.

Kenedy 6- Didn’t put a foot wrong on the night, looked much more at home higher up the pitch. But played well in the unfamiliar left back role.

Mikel 6- Broke up the play well but couldn’t do enough and was overrun in midfield up against Matuidi, Rabiot and Motta.

Fabregas 7- Played well going forward always picking out the best pass available to him.

Willian 7- Looked quick on the counter and played a great ball in for Costa’s equaliser.

Pedro 7- Worked extremely hard, getting about the pitch and helped the Chelsea attack on the counter.

Hazard 5- Still can’t find his best form, very few glimpses of brilliance we saw last season. Limped off with 15 minutes left.

Costa 8- Chelsea’s best player on the night. Scored a brilliant goal and worked the line throughout. The game was lost when he came off injured.

Traore 5- Very little chance to impress. Barely got a kick of the ball.

Manager: Guus Hiddink 7- Everything looked good until Costa came off. The game plan was working and Chelsea looked the more likely team to go on and win. But they couldn’t turn it into a positive result. Nothing more Hiddink could have done.
