West Ham manager Slaven Bilic claims it is a good time to play Chelsea and that the champions poor start to the season can be exploited by his side this weekend.
Chelsea travel to West Ham on Saturday as they seek to continue their mini revival after their worst start to a season in a generation. West Ham, on the contrary, have been brilliant with away wins over Arsenal, Liverpool and table topping Manchester City to their name so far.
Bilic, whose side are fourth in the Premiership, believes that their fine season can continue with a win over London rivals Chelsea. Speaking in his weekly press conference, the former Croatia manager said that it is a good time to play Chelsea but is worried after an improvement in performance from Jose Mourinho’s side:
“This is a good time to play Chelsea, but they need to have a few good results.
“Chelsea looked sharp against Kiev and I watched the game. I was not happy afterwards because they looked really good as a team.
“It is a big challenge for us and a big test. They are the champions and he is the best manager around. I am looking forward to it,”
“I know Mourinho’s team are always hungry and no-one expected them to be where they are now. Sometimes that happens in football.
“I have watched all their games. If there was something major wrong he would be the first to change it. I see them finishing in top four.”
