Ex Chelsea player Marcel Desailly gave his opinion about Pep Guardiola’s work at Manchester City before their visit to Stamford Bridge tomorrow night.
There were great expectations about the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager’s season with Citizens, but with a current fourth place, those expectations weren’t fulfilled at the moment:
“He is doing okay, and we are expecting more,” Desailly said.
“He took a team where he did not pick the players, some of them definitely will go at the end of the season for him to bring in his system and philosophy.
“He is doing okay, he is doing what a coach has to do.”
A win over Chelsea in tomorrow night clash would push Manchester City above Liverpool and into the third place but, above all, will re-open the tile race again:
“The expectation is quite high for that first season from him, we expect him straight away to win.
“But it is tough. It’s Premier League, Champions League also is quite difficult, so actually they are present in all the competition but they are not doing super well as we were expecting.
