QPR defender Richard Dunne is set to recover in time for next Saturday’s clash with Chelsea.
This is good news for the Hoops, as Dunne is one of their most experienced players: he’s been out since the beginning of February. In that period Steven Caulker has been a regular while Nedhum Onuoha, Rio Ferdinand and Clint Hill failed to take his spot on a permanent basis.
However, QPR manager Chris Ramsey may not be willing to include the veteran Irish defender. The West London side have won and drawn their last two away games against West Brom and Aston Villa. In both of those fixtures, Caulker and Onuoha were selected, meaning Ramsey may be willing to stick to a formula that works. Dunne wasn’t tested in last night’s match against Villa: he played against Millwall with the U21 side to see if he can be ready for the visit of Chelsea to Loftus Road.
